One of my personal favs he has so many solos recorded worked with Elvis 69 to 77 , sadly he just made his journey very early this morning now in Rock heaven back with E!

The most underrated drummer....a technically sound savage. This is tame compared to his other solos. Formally trained in all different genres, he could deliver on command which is why Elvis 'clicked' with him right out the gate. He was able to keep up with the unpredictable nature that was Elvis, every concert being different. I have heard drummers, but Ronnie was something else...if you could play for Elvis, you could play for ANYONE. And he did...well over a thousand concerts, studio sessions, etc. just with Elvis. Countless gigs over the years with other big time entertainers. Look into him, and you'll see why Elvis chose him. PEACE!

Probably the most underrated and unheard of drummer of all time unless your a drummer of a certain age. His subtlety and then explosive power and speed are legendary. A perfect fit for elvis in the 70s and one of my favourite ever drummers. Have seen him live a few times with the virtual elvis show. Awsome just awsome

Let’s put it this way. When Elvis made the decision to tour again, and put together his ‘TCB’ band, he made sure to grab the best drummer out there….. “ladies and gentlemen from Dallas, Texas hard working Ronnie Tutt”…… R.I.P Ronnie 🙏 May you reunite with The King, Joe Guercio, Charlie Hodge, J.D Sumner, Myrna Smith… etc…

Ron is a monster for sure..Groove, taste and speed + power. Beside countless recordings & live shows, he's also on a Sheffield Lab record where there is one solo impro from him and another one from J.Keltner..It was a direct to disk recording around '86-'87 I guess.. Worth listen !

These are Ludwig white acrylic vistalites with Chrome wrap

    Hello from England
I was 12 when ELVIS died. I have been a FAN ever since.
Ronnie Tutt was "the 8th wonder of the world" when it comes to drumming.
Not many left now of the TCB band. Jerry, Glen and James are the "last men standing"
When you look at videos posted out since we learnt that Ronnie had died it just makes you think of the time that has passed since they started to do the live shows - 50 + years OH MY.

Ronnie may not have been as well known as others, but he was VERY versatile and was VERY important to Elvis, who was, at the time, already a legend and in his own league. Ronnie was the backbone of his show! Check out the videos from Elvis On Tour and Ronnie kicks ass on Proud Mary and Never Been To Spain! Also, Elvis' album from Madison Square Garden from 1972 showcases Ronnie well, in my opinion. Too bad there's no video of that!

Evidence that Ronnie Tutt was a great drummer is found in many comments here..."underrated". Tutt was a great drummer who played to the music of his hire, instead of playing for himself. Never overplayed so he could have some of the spotlight. I appreciate that he was great enough to be gracious. I'll miss Ronnie Tutt.

To make good money and escape American racism many jazz artists went to play in France in the 50s and beyond. Some of the great players at the time stayed with the parents of the best drummer I have ever seen. Christian Vander of Magma. Elvin Jones would stop by and play the drums with Christian when he was a kid.
Please please please give Mr. Vander his due and throw one of his bits out there. If I missed it in the list then my bad. If he’s not in the video list that’s every drummers misfortune.

This was a good solo but it's not his best one you can Google Ronnie tutt drum solos from 75 and 76 and he is tearing them up harder than kiss John Bonham or any of them unfortunately it's just sound only but Elvis tells him to play and he takes off
