@@TheFishLocker - John - have you gone back to the lobster hatchery to see how the large lobsters that you donated are doing? Those two were a massive breeding pair.
Still catching up. I think James is very lucky to have a Dad like you showing him all you can on foraging and each creature and more. Would make a great business taking his age group to learn about foraging. I’m learning here at home thank you. I do like crab meat but I’m sure they taste better straight out of the water. I’ve always wanted to try an oyster and maybe a snail so long as they come with a garlic butter or something. I don’t know why it’s a desire to try them but maybe it’s like accepting a double dare lol 😆
Been watching you for some time now, maybe around a year or so and I have to say, you sir, are a national treasure. It's people like you that keep the world spinning and that manage to inspire others with their genuine passion for what it is they do ! please keep that smile and never stop doing what you love ! :)
Just spent a week in Cornwall and took great pleasure in explaining to my daughter how the big stack of pots in the harbour worked when she asked. All thanks to watching your videos.
Another great video John, and a brilliant bit of education. Can’t believe the thieving toe rags have been at it again. Looks like that beast of a lobster will feed the family well 😊
I'm so glad that we are finally back to the pots ... that's always been my favorite episodes. You never know what is going to come up in the next pot! It really sucks that people go around stealing pots .. karma will come around and teach them a lesson!!!
THANK YOU FOR TEACHING THIS OLD MAN SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW EVEN THOUGH I AM AN ISLANDER , YOUR LOVE OF THE SEA COMES THROUGH YOUR WORDS AND BEHAVIOUR KEEP IT UP.
Never seen you take a spider crab for the table before and I have always wanted to see one you would keep! Another great video, hope the family is well :)
Recently found. Your channel, I have never fished for anything in my life, but I do enjoy your videos, and find them interesting, and relaxing. Thank you
😡😡Thieving scumbags! Always an education watching you fish even though I have spent my whole life practically beside/on the sea. Love the content John and hope you get the pots back 👍
Good morning John. Loved the video as always. Appreciate the conservation, the lessons, and your temperance. It must be incredibly frustrating to experience the thieves. I know here in Maine....I wouldn't want to be that person.
Excellent. Thanks again for taking us with you and sharing your valuable knowledge. Maybe design your own pots with green and red rope . Then everyone will know who's pinched them.
Have been watching your channel a few weeks now, after a bit of mackerel spinning in Wales on holiday (we caught some Bass too). Brilliant delivery, you’ve a natural presenter and teacher, I’m learning all the time. Great channel, should be on national tv. 👍
Awesome haul, the pot hauls as well as the tide pool hunts you do are my favorites. Makes me jealous to live in the mountains instead of being at the coast. Keep up the good work, wish I was there!
Love your channel. I've been a long-time follower, and you always educate me on something new with every video. I can't imagine someone stealing your pots or your catch. I would guess that if someone would stoop that low, that they would also take a notched female.
You mention a prawn pot. Can you show baiting and checking that one of these times? I'd love to see that, too! I check for your videos every morning to enjoy with my coffee!
@@TheFishLocker That sucks, but I get it. I'll never understand how people can be so awful. I've had crayfish traps stolen, despite them being labeled and pretty well hidden.
Another great vid John, reminds me of younger days living on the Gower in S Wales, potting most days. Just returned from a USA trip, and deep sea fishing off Ft Lauderdale, we caught a larger trigger fish, around 5lbs, and some yellow tailed snappers; gave the skipper a few bucks and he filleted the whole group catch of around 150 fish!. They said the trigger was a delicious fish and so it was, BBQ'd with little seasoning and a large salad, what an amazing flavour, sweet as a crab with large flakes of flesh. Grouper was not in season, and doctor fish and a Bermudan tout? were thrown back. Must return, what an experience. Good fishing to y'all.
@@TheFishLocker Excellent,...loved all of it, and that sunshine!; did you fish at all? Although it was a charter boat, the crew and other fishermen/women were great, nothing too much trouble, happy days.
I admire how calmly you handle having pots stolen! I would be furious and hell bent on catching the thief - but it would probably be a waste of energy.
Just stumbled across your channel, probably because I watch a lot of coarse fishing vids. As a lover of sea food and fishing, I find your channel a joy to watch.
Good day John!!! Wonderful to see you out pulling pots again and on such a glorious day too. That's a sorry sod that took your pots and pulled your catch from the one pot. Wouldn't it be great if you could put a tracking device on your pots. Hope the Mrs's and the Best boy are doing well. Looking forward to some sea side meals with the family. Take care and have a great week.
A whole string missing and one pot raided 😡 I imagine you'd welcome an opportunity to have a 'word' with those responsible. But pleased to see how well you coped (or kept hidden from the video when you realised the string had been nicked) and how good the rest of the haul was - specially that chunky lobster. I'll bet he tasted great 😋
It is great to learn about so many great species , people stealing your pots sucks. I love the way you explain what you do and how everything works. Thanks.great video.
Love your videos. So glad we done have smelly vision. But i can still smell it, coming from the fish shop at the end of the line. Gone now but not forgotten... guess the town.

Absolutely great content Always informative We'll be putting in at Rye Harbor in New Hampshire, USA, very soon and soaking pots and catching mackerel for bait. Thanks for the motivation, I can smell the ocean as I'm watching.
