I see another review that states the unit is not chargable on the fly like my 20S Evo is...Ive been on road trips where it is necessary after 10 hours to charge the headset and not being able to charge on the fly is a big con IMO...as is not being waterproof
No hate to the hostess but my god the filming is the worse with the cable management. The slr video on the neotec/gt air was done way better. I work in a motorcycle clothing shop and we install comm sets regularly. I just installed this one in my personal nxr2 and its a nightmare with reinstalling the cheekpads. The cables block the holes making them come off everytime i take my helmet off. Its also a shame its not as neatly designed as the neotec version.. so far the audio is good, i still need to test it out, but hopefully they will integrate a set with a future nxr3
Hey there, I tried connecting my SRL-EXT to my brother's 50S over Open Mesh and he could hear me, but I couldn't hear him. We were able to connect via bluetooth fine though and both hear each other. When I got home today, I updated the firmware (Mine was out of date.) Should the SRL-EXT be able to connect to the 50S via Open Mesh normally if both have the latest firmware?
How in the world can you make an outdoor motorcycle equipment device that is NOT at all water proof? I just started to look into Intercom Systems and of course there are just 2 brands that are wide spread and on the top level. I completely leaned into the Sena direction but then I stumbled about more and more horror stories with failing devices after rain or fog drives. This is completely beyond my understanding.
If you want something Sena-based, get the Interphone Ucom series, quite a few options. The UCom 16 is basically a Sena 50 with a separate battery pack and no Harmon Kardon, but all their stuff is IP67. It's what I use and as someone in the motorcycle gear trade, I almost always recommend the new Interphones over Sena. If you wanted, you can always get the HK speakers and mic separately and they connect absolutely fine. I haven't done that yet but I'm more than happy with the quality of the normal 40mm speakers
@@ItsBeenDanBefore I just checked it out and it looks promising but here in Germany its over 100€ higher in price than the Sena itself. I found a video about disassembling the 50 series models (for battery replacement) and it turned out, the main PCB design is relatively simple and easy to apply conformal silicone coating that I already use for drone flight control systems. So I guess I will just waterproof the 50R myself while the silicone gasket it already has, prevents major water introduction already. The coaring does prevent moisture oxidation then. THat should make it safe then especially with the button-style use of the R model.
There is a promo in a store in Portugal, if you buy a Shoei NRX2 (599€) tou get this comm for 1€ ( its a promo ) I was leaning towards it, but i havnt find any reviews about it...
@@ItsBeenDanBefore I got the U-COM 16 and already used it for music on nav on a ride. This thing is awesome! It was a great tip and works perfect so far!
How do you skip the speaker installation?!? That's useless...
Skipped the speakers installation?? Come on!
No speaker install? Guess this comes with no speakers? How about the horrible software update situation? Is that fixed yet
Hi. Although it wasn't shown in this video, the SRL-EXT comes with speakers and they were installed after the microphone was attached. Thanks.
@@senatechnologieshow about show us how to install the speakers? You can’t afford to add on another minute or 2 to the video?

Yes, but the best practice is to update both units with the latest firmware.
What's the name of that color style for the Shoei? :o
I cannot find it anywhere...
Hi. It is the Prologue TC-11 (Matte). Thanks.
@@senatechnologies thaaanks! ❤
