I love this song which was originally "composed" by Marcus Miller for George Benson & Earl Klugh's "Collaboration" album. I wonder if we'll ever see a reunion with Earl Klugh, George Benson and Marcus Miller, especially for this song and "Dreamin.'
Earl is my man any day on the guitar. His flow, twinkling and the texture of sounds from his guitar will always move me anytime. Cant forget when I eventually met him on person in 2006. I discovered that he had as a hero another of my favourite musician - gearge Benson. That killed it for me! Klugh is the man that'll put you onfire with his strings.
Ever since I discovered Earl Klugh in the late 1970s, I fell in love with Funcky Jazz. He together with other Jazz Maestros like George Benson have created a new Sub-Genre in the Funky Jazz Genre with no Competition.
the good ole days when real brothers made real music - pure magic props to the big guy at the start. it's like he's launching a shuttle or something, going through the motions. then at 0:23 it has "cleared the tower" and now into the flight, into the grove.
He is THE TOP OF THE TOP, BEST OF THE BEST in this genre, and the crazy thing to me is that he switched his focus to straight-ahead at a certain point and went straight to beast-mode at THAT too. If you need to know for sure that I'm right about HOW good he is at this stuff, compare these solos to Nelson Rangell's solos from his runs with Klugh. Rangell doesn't hold a CANDLE to Lenny Price. That is a FACT. Mr Price is pretty much my saxophone hero.

The whole structure of the song is awesome and the bass - on top of that ... sheer melodic beauty 🤗🤗🤗🥳🥳🥳

Back in the day. San Diego,Ca Used to have concerts by the bay. Called Humphrey. Missed those days
That brotha on the sax is no joke. He has the classic contemporary Jazz musician look, with the clear round rim glasses.
Thank you, Joseph. I really appreciate your kind compliment! #ForwardMotion 🎷

Son, I've got better headphones. But hey, thanks for playing.
The mix absolutely sucks. The drums and bass are pretty much nonexistent.
Listening through MDR-V6's.
