What country do you live in? America is supposed to be free to do as you wish, live as you wish, and worship as you wish. Just what is your problem with that.
For reference : First Amendment The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices.

the Establishment clause exists for a reason, freedom of religion requires freedom from religion. The whole point of the clause is to prevent the government from establishing a state religion and prohibit it from favoring one faith over another, end of story.
I don't see anywhere in the video where anyone was advocating for the government to establish a religion. The Christians' views seemed to be that they want people to vote according to their biblical beliefs. It also depends how you define religion. Someone could argue that a law against polygamy or slavery or child labor or human sacrifice is against their religion. At some point, the government must decide what is illegal regardless of any religious view. How the government decides this could be considered a religion too.
Anthony, the state didn't invent marriage. Religion established it. By your logic, you should advocate the state get out of the marriage business all together. So long as it's in the marriage business, the government is dealing with religious views. So you better expect Christians to have an opinion on the religious views our secular goverment is pontificating on.
LOL. Hitches didn't realize that the Pilgrims left England because they weren't orthodox enough in their Protestantism. The Stuarts wanted to tolerate Catholicism and incorporate its practices into the Anglican Church, the Puritans disagreed, there was a civil war where the Puritans won the war and lost the peace, so they left for America so they can oppress their own people their way while the libertines ruled in London where Catholics and Anglicans were in bed with each other. (The Stuarts were friendly with the Catholic Bourbons who ruled France)
Even being a Christian nationalist your beliefs aren't that other religions shouldn't exist or have freedoms. In fact Christians have Ling stood for the religious freedoms of all religions. Clearly division of church and state is put in place to protect the people from a religion based Government which always end badly so most of these individuals wouldn't be supported by logical people. The division exists so both government and religion can exist.

the new testament explicitly approves of slavery. It also tells women to be silent, not to teach and not to have authority over a man. Read "The Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom" which was a proposed bill by Thomas Jefferson. This puts into context what Jefferson meant when he penned the now infamous separation of church and state in his letter to the committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut. If your going to use the letter that Jefferson wrote as an explanation of the religious clause in the First Amendment of the constitution, you need to equally look at his other writings/proposed bills to understand its context.
You also need to read the book, "The Jefferson Bible", by Thomas Jefferson and you will see that Jefferson did not think Jesus was a god but a great teacher.
How do you prevent voters from bringing their beliefs into the voting booth?
You can't and shouldn't, only a few extremists would say otherwise.
As long as they do not proselytize in the voting booth, that's fine: it is a private space.
Its not about that, its about zealots creating legislation on the basis of their personal theocratic beliefs and imposing them on the general public.
You can't. It's not possible. And it would be impossible for the state to regulate that anyway.
Everyone votes based on their beliefs. If you're pro-choice, that's based on your beliefs; if you're pro-life, that's based on your beliefs. Everyone believes the candidate they vote for is the better candidate, and that's based on beliefs of what is good. Remove beliefs and you just have robots voting.

the issue is when a christian is faced with an opposing social issue, the answer is always "God". no arguments. Just because some human-invented supernatural entity said so...
The US was a place of refuge for those fleeing religious persecution; they wanted the freedom of self-governance, and to practice their own religion. Later, the FFs wrote religious liberty (freedom of and from) into the constitution. Regardless of their political beliefs, they made it separate from the government which is how it should be. If you want to live under theocratic rule, check out Iran or Saudi Arabia.
The Founders and Framers enshrined individual freedom to exercise religion, but not separation of the government from God. Read a history book.
@@OhioCoastie94 God as an entity is different from God as an interpretative element in any variant of organized religion. If your argument is that the Christian God is the one and only and it’s written into the US government’s constitution (it isn’t, but OK) that impinges on others’ so-called freedom of religion. The concept of God is different and means many different things - it could be a benevolent energy, the patterns of nature, a vengeful judgmental being filled with wrath, a light, nothingness, or anything in between. Not everyone believes in God, and if they do, they don’t define God the same way. The GOP wants to define God as “the almighty father of the white Christian Jesus” and force everyone in the US to conform to that belief. That’s not going to happen, which is why we have the separation of church and state (which I’ve explained, church is different from God - we’re talking about separating organized religion from government). Oh yeah, that was exactly the point I made in my original comment. 🙄
True as far as Religion goes. God is truth, not a Religion.
@@ladymondegreen the first amendment is simply a manmade law. There is nothing divine or sacred about it LOL. The reality is that theocracy is both good and necessary for a stable society. "John 3:3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
@@joeking433 What is interesting with the Bible, whatever version you use, is that since no one has the original manuscript of the New Testament, no one knows what Jesus said. People make guesses. Each manuscript was copied and recopied and recopied and changed with no manuscript being standard until the printing press was invented in the 1500's and each manuscript was different. No original copy has ever been found. So there is no way that you can be sure that Jesus gave that quote. And you probably don't know who it was who decided which of the books were included in the New Testament canon and when this determination occurred.
