I imagine they intentionally left out where he almost certainly went on to explain that husbands are called to live their wife as Christ loves the church - Christ served us and gave His life for us - so therefore the husband is called to serve and sacrifice for his wife. A very important part. And it comes directly after the verse that was mentioned in this.

The important part for me is that he says wives should be submissive to their husbands. There is no way to spin that view positively. It doesn't matter how much a husband 'loves' his wife if he makes submission a condition of that 'love'. A religion that believes women exist to serve men is just wrong.

@D Sullivan The laws of your town must have a foundation of SOMETHING. What will you ground them on? How will you determine right from wrong? If you base them purely on man's law, then you have a functionally atheistic town-a town where God is not in charge, and has no practical relevance to what goes on there. If you base them on the Bible, then you have a Christian town-meaning God is recognized as Lord over this town, not that everyone there has to be a Christian. If you ground those laws on the Koran, then you have a muslim town. In other words, you can't have a neutral grounding; they will be based on something.

In school you're taught that leading questions are not acceptable for journalism as it encourages the person being interviewed to follow the lead of the interviewer. I want journalists to function as neutral parties rather than tell the person their interviewing how they feel.

When an observer watches this and then the response video done a few days later, seeing what was left on the edit room floor… I think it was wise that the other party recorded as well. It’s amazing how the lens through which information is edited can produce two very different perspectives. In his response he mentions the history of how the rest of the West ended their participation in the slave trade, the repentant author of the song amazing grace comes to mind who campaigned for England to end their participation. His repentant campaigning led to England ending their participation. It appears obvious that one side has more grace for the imperfect person than the other.

@@sherrihaight2724 Hello Sherri. Are Christians defined by their works or their faith in the work of Jesus Christ? God sees the heart and we do not. I know people who are not Christian and do 10x the works I have but do not believe in Jesus existence let alone His willing sacrifice on the cross for all sin. To ask "who is more Christian?" in those scenarios is not applicable because in both those and this situation... one believes in the biblical teachings of the trinity and the divinity of Jesus and the other does not. Both cannot be true so only one is a true Christian. Also, demons believe in Jesus and they aren't Christians so we can't just say a belief in Jesus makes someone a Christian. I don't say this to be Christian and we would probably agree Christians (myself included) need to show the love of Christ better and more often, but let that not become something to boast about or to measure one's value since we only boast in Christ and not of our own works or ability.

Anarchy is unbiblical and sinful; point of fact there is a genuine important role that a limited government should have. But God comes first.

I find it laughable you cite a "Rev. Dr." who is from a literal 'cult' as defined by almost all Protestant and Catholic denominations, who believe that anyone and everyone will find eternity in heaven, regardless of what they believe. I'm not even defending all of what the pastor has said...but maybe some research on specific groups like the Unitarian Universalist "church" would be beneficial before using someone like that for segment.

There's people with opinions, but I've yet to see anyone with opinions cause severe harm to anyone's livelihood around here so 🤷♂️
I was assigned to a temporary job in the Idaho Department of Health and Human Services in Boise where we processed complaints of sexual abuse. You would be amazed as to the number of instances of this going on w/in families w/their children. From looking through the complaints, the majority of this was occurring on the eastern side of the state around Idaho Falls and Pocatello where there is a heavy Mormon influence.

Statistically over 50% of SE Idaho, which is 500 miles away from Moscow, are LDS, so it wouldn't be unexpected that a similar or significant number of abusers would be at least marginally linked to this church, where they are carried on membership roles, in spite of not attending a single service in years.
Douglas Wilson is not Mormon, he is a Presbyterian Christian. Very different from Mormonism.

I am a Muslim, and there is a bias in the United States against Christianity. It’s kind of obvious. Outside of the United States, we are the target of zealous pro Israel based charades of foreign policy.
My guess it that because Christians are the majority of the country, the United States government wants to stamp out religious power from the strongest demographic.
I'm so sad this cafe is closing, I will be praying God raises them up, maybe the owner can come back stronger. God is good and He is going to do all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.
It’s very possible. Look up Nini’s Deli in Chicago. Amazing true story of persecution of a believer who refused to bow down to the BLM movement, they had to shut down, but the LORD raised them up again. There is a TH-cam video about it, if it hasn’t been censored…
My bet is it was a dying business regardless of his choice of religious worship and he found a way to fulfill his fantasy of being oppressed while shifting blame off of himself. If 10% of the town is a member of that church, that is a large enough customer base to keep the doors open.

The first time I ever knew of this town was as a result of my very early research into COVID-19.

My marriage began more than 50 years ago, so patriarchy is a norm to me. That doesn't exclude a female dominant family as a choice. No partnership gets anywhere if authority isn't delegated before controversy arises. If every decision were a tied vote, there is no decision. Imagine a tandem bicycle. You decide who controls the front handlebars on any given day or for any given event. What kind of car we will buy or where we vacation. My husband has a good working knowledge if vehicles, so he gets that last word. We alternate decision years for where to vacation, and this is my year. Suppose the kids are stuck in public school, because we can't decide which private school is best. Now, the kids will suffer from an inadequate education because WE can't decide. The patriarchy system says, when you havent delegated authority and you can't work out a compromise, Dad gets the last word. He has the responsibility of considering my desires and the children's needs.
Yet billions of people don't live this way. In your mind, none of them are able to get anything done in cases where they don't see eye to eye? Haha what a breathtaking moron you are.
