What actually sells it about Eggman going insane of me is that he never holds back. He goes all in. Millions of dollars, thousands of hours, YEARS of planning, and... all Sonic has to do is run fast and hit hard. He's the X Factor. And you can't plan for him
Although the SFX were minimal the voice acting more than made up for it. Portraying Robotnik's decline into insanity was spot on! It was also interesting coming back to this issue years later to see how similar/different the breakdown was here compared to the recent IDW SONIC #50. Overall GREAT JOB! Also great choices in music, the old SatAM OST combined with the modern rock songs and Forces piano really helps tell the story of where the characters came from and where they are now.
Your voice acting as eggman is just, INCREDIBLE. The amount of emotion and PURE anger in his voice is just legendary and honestly made me JUMP when he screamed. AMAZING job with this AMAZING scene!
It says a lot about Sonic's kind heart that he feels remorse for what happened to Eggman. I, meanwhile, believe that Eggman brought his suffering upon himself, and seeing him in that state gave me great satisfaction--which makes me think I have more in common with Knuckles or even Shadow than I do with Sonic. Then again, I've never cared for chili dogs either, so I guess that makes sense.
@@moathalmaghlouth8262 That's a good question. Knuckles does appear briefly at the end of this issue, congratulating Sonic on his victory, but he doesn't know the full details of what happened. However, he had no qualms about tossing the evil Dr. Finitevus off Angel Island in a later story, suggesting he doesn't feel as strongly about showing mercy on his enemies. As for Shadow--on one hand, he threatened to end Eggman in cold blood in a much earlier issue, but later on he let Eggman con him into working for him (because Eggman claimed he was also in mourning for Maria), so perhaps it could go either way.
I actually understand Sonic’s mindset. This man was once his friend. He’s not evil he’s sick because of the evil chaos energy. He’s trying to make the world into a utopia like his grandfather Gerald wanted. If he can’t have it it’s like his illness forces him into a corner like a wounded animal and when sonic finally defeats him thinking it will help him the opposite happens the evil leaves but it does the most horrible thing it can. It takes Sonic’s best friend with it… forever… I can literally feel the agony eggman is feeling in my heart. I have Aspergers and my mind is very unstable so I feel something similar and I empathize with the sick soul of the evil ravaged man.
Now THIS was quite the the landmark issue of Sonic the Hedgehog! I also remember reading up to this issue. There were a few odd moments with the doctor leading up to this story. For those who DON’T read the comics, there are two things to know. One, do NOT feel bad for him. The Eggman in the comics is more evil and murderous than you can possibly imagine. Two, this is NOT where the story ends! This story ended one arc only to setup an even bigger arc. Eggman does bounce back from this, and he becomes even more dangerous than ever. Unfortunately, around the time the story really starts picking up steam, a certain legal issue dropped in and caused everything that made the series good to be gutted out.
Never forget: the Archie Sonic comic only ran for 222 issues, and Sonic Universe only ran for 24 issues. There was no Mecha Sally. There was no Endangered Species arc. There _certainly_ was no Super Genesis Wave. I reject their canon and substitute my own!
@@davebrown2056 Dude, I feel your pain… I wish the SAME thing. The ONLY defense I can give Post Super Genesis Sonic is that some characters got better designs and some even had less complicated origins. Other than that, I fully prefer the original canon.
@@lucastheprinceofdarkness9344 I think most people prefer the original canon. Of course, there are people who prefer a more game-accurate interpretation of the characters and their world, and there are younger fans who grew up reading the post-Super Genesis Wave comics, and I respect their opinion, even if I strongly disagree with it (and need to pretend the reboot never happened in order to enjoy the comics now). And hey, at least the art was still good after the reboot.
@@davebrown2056 Truer words have never been spoken! And at least we still have a Sonic comic thanks to IDW. Now if only someone can break the news to SEGA about how their mandates don’t reflect good writing. Then the new series could really start picking up the pace!
@@lucastheprinceofdarkness9344 It's worth noting that the live-action movies have been given almost total creative freedom, and they've been extremely successful so far. My hope would be that this will eventually inspire SEGA to ease up on the comics as well.
Yes, everyone. This indeed can happen to anyone enough stress and mental torment will cause the mind to crack and when finally it snaps the brain will simply fold the conscious into a deep part of the mind. Even seal several memories away so that the mind can heal but when you see it happen both here and in real life it is as terrifying and shocking as you saw on sonics face.

5:24 - The uttering of "snooping as usual" while Snively was talking...Nice touch! XD
Sonic always kinda enjoys his role in the endless life circle of this puppet show between him and Robotnik. Until now its finally enough.....
Reminds me of Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

That Eggman scream kinda gave me chills! Some really solid stuff, my dude!
It was an honor to be the voice of Sally, I enjoyed watching the video as well! Again, thanks for casting me! ✨
Amazing job. Seriously. My hat is off to you

What if in an alternate timeline, Archie Sonic ended after Issue 200? But without the cliffhanger of Snively plotting to takeover.

Imagine if this happens to "Infinite the Jackal" (after the events of Sonic Forces)?

Great work!

i feel bad for eggman
The biggest mistake Sonic made was walking away and letting him live.
Well that's a flawed way of thinking, And kind of blood thirsty.

The "coup" is pronounced as "Koo" because it's French word
