Your comment depicts a lack of understanding of the dynamic that had existed between those two communites--I recommend you listen to survivor testimony, and you will hear from people older than you who have lived there their entire lives what life was like before. Because to the American government Israel is seen as "the good guy." It makes sense, Israel is a liberal westernized society while Palestine is an ultra conservative, extremist society. Civilians dying is tragic regardless of their views, but it would be weird for a Palestinian to speak given that generally Palestine and their culture is an enemy of America, while Israel is an ally. Now that doesn't make it any less tragic that civilians are being slaughtered, but it explains the political environment. Like imagine if during WW2 they invited the mother of a German child who died from an American bomb dropped on Hamburg. That would be pretty weird.

Because to the American government Israel is seen as "the good guy." It makes sense, Israel is a liberal westernized society while Palestine is an ultra conservative, extremist society. Civilians dying is tragic regardless of their views, but it would be weird for a Palestinian to speak given that generally Palestine and their culture is an enemy of America, while Israel is an ally.
