Thats neat. I run Google Chrome and Apps on my Windows 7 desktop and see no need for more. On my Windows 10 laptop I recently upgraded Apple Software and installed iTunes. Now my Android S21 will not trade files though my cable internet Hotspot links fine. I plan to declare the S21 as a device on iTunes and see if that allows me to file search.
When the official route comes yes. Doubt I'll bother with the unofficial route. I can only think of TH-cam I'd find useful and it's not worth getting Google Play for one app. Thanks though. All the Android apps I use a lot have a Windows app or Web app.
Tom, are you able to try this on a Surface Pro X? It should run better but I believe it's using a Intel VM to emulate ARM. Does it still do this on an ARM PC? Thanks.
It honestly should happen sooner rather than later because then why the hell does Micro$oft give a crap about supporting Android apps on Windows in the 1st place?? There’s just no logic in that if it’s never going to happen and they just want to sell individual products. Everybody knows smartphones just honestly aren’t as capable as we need them to be without heating the bejesus out of them. PC at least you can somewhat manage it without a fire hazard.
I'm glad to see that many people love this video and there is HOPE I may get this to work. I'm 77 and this man speaks way too fast for me to understand all the steps. Maybe I can slow him down a little, but I hardly ever do that. I was so stupid to buy a Windows 11 Lenovo laptop.
Great video. Good to see that there are options out there. DeX seems to be the least painless way to do this but if you've got the hardware these other options might be worth it. Bluestacks was always kind of a goofy hit or miss for me. Haha...got me banned once from COD Mobile for a couple of days.
don't do this. the script on git was found to be exposing credentials to 3rd party. on another note, toolbox was found to be malicious and is now under observation. wait for google, they are planning an official play store release.
With regards to your performance issues with Android apps, do you have "virtualization" enabled from BIOS? I haven't tested it on Windows 11 yet, but virtualization always boosted performance massively with other emulators I have used in the past. By default it is disabled on AMD systems these days, has to be enabled from the BIOS.
Checking, do you happen to have an updated video on how to go about doing this now in 2023? I have a surface Pro X running Windows 11 Pro that I need to run a particular app from the Google Play store that the application cannot sense that it's in emulation mode. Basically it has to think it's running on an Android tablet to 100% run correctly. Let me know what you would recommend?
Instagram, Facebook and Twitter Windows apps are actually PWA Web apps. That's why the experience is identical to going to the website. Facebook Messenger for Windows is native though.
Yep, and they all used tk be native apps but their devs don't update them often until they lagged in features and even UI design. Going for PWA makes it easier for them. Facebook and Twitter is fine though since website is still powerful, but it just feels not as native. Instagram is okay but kinda lacking something, but it works.
Question: do you leave your laptop plugged in while using it or at all times? And is that bad for your laptops battery life? Whats the best way? Thanks
Please can you compare the s22 Ultra and the Huawei P50 PRO and also a snapdragon v exynos comparison with the s22 Ultra on camera quality both night and day and video quality and battery 🔋 Thanks 😊
bruh so this means i can’t download the chinese or japanese games on the google store since this a store within amazon store ? and not the full google play store
Not interested on gaming. I just want to be able to have Google Home in my PC. I am looking for a 1 time pay android emulator (I Don't want any publicity, virus, pop-ups etc). What do you guys suggest ?
Thank you, Tom. Good information (and flow chart). I am about to embark on this with one potential downside variation that I am HOPING is minor. I am running Windows 10 Pro, not 11. There is an upside, though. I am in the US (despite being a Limey). This is primarily for a camera security app, so I don't particularly care about frame rates. No wait! The security app is secondary. It is primarily for fun.
All Chromebooks have had Android support for years and like you say if the Chronebook is ARM they run great. Very few Android apps don't support ChromeOS.
bleepingcomputer found out that google play store was malware. Can you show us how to completely remove everything. They made a blog post about it but i don't understand it.
Let’s face it. Android apps don’t even run well on chromebooks. All this virtualization stuff for Microsoft should be TEMPORARY if they are intending on going full mobile processor for windows in the future. Apples Rosetta is a temporary measure until the Intel macs are gone and all macs are mobile chips (m-x). Even now, Rosetta emulates super fast can’t even tell it’s emulation. Once again Microsoft is just plugging holes in its game without attempting a full fix to their roadmap.
@Edwin B Found the insecure iSheep. Honestly you just scared to see people switching from Crapple device to great device which everyone should use like Windows PC.
Will playing Mobile games on Windows 11 using this method risk getting you banned in games? For example If I wanted to play Call of Duty Mobile with a controller on my PC natively? If so this feature is basically dead in the water for me.
Asphalt 8 & 9 already available as Win 10 apps in the Microsoft Store but what I'm really excited for to see how well it supports gamepad supporting Android apps :D :D
I wonder if call of duty mobile works with windows 11. I have blue stacks and I have call of duty mobile but there is no support for game controllers and I have 4k enabled on my 4k laptop and I'm running windows 10.
I am in the US and I have both the Google Play Store and the Amazon App Store in Windows 11. They don't have some of the apps I want because of how they recognize my computer as an incompatible device.
Is it just me or does Tom seem to be saying that Surfshark VPN doesn't work as advertised? 🤔 Maybe he should do a proper review of VPNs to see which can actually get around geo blocking and which can't.
All these steps….. I definitely want the most convenient way to get my smartphone Android apps and games on a decent size tablet, except storage wise everything is unnecessarily 32GB-64GB while I’ve seen some phones go as far as 256GB, 512GB unlocked. I’m completely at a loss what to do be a cause I’m no technician, I’d be lost as hell figuring all this out just to get Google Play Storeand expect touchscreen stuff to run as expected. Off/topic, there is however, 2 gotcha type game off of a classic I’m unsure which is the most updated, Mega Man X Dive on either Android/iOS or Steam….. Steam version at least has controller support.
If Microsoft had phone tablet and pc app integration for music and video creation the way I wanted I would be using them now instead of focusing more on apple. If android had the music and video production apps and power of a pc I probably would be using Samsung right now. A few companies are bringing cross platform closer though. Apple is not quite fully what I want but closer than the others between devices.
That feature will probably be the best experience that Win11 could offer. If it plays nice. I currently run Bluestacks, but native performance would be the way to go. Why would anyone care about running Android apps? For productivity, for content creators, and because there are certain apps that are not available for Windows.
Tom, are you able to try this on a Surface Pro X? It should run better but I believe it's using a Intel VM to emulate ARM. Does it still do this on an ARM PC? Thanks.
In 2021 I bought an Onn 10 inch windows tablet and found out it is an ARM based chipset so apparently windows 10 at that time forward is ARM compatable. 2FA from same device is just wrong, please stop i had to downvote it just for it. Upside for this emulator are windows prompts and dynamic rescaling, downside is a file managment, other emulators are doing it much better.

Thumb up.
google and windows are two different companies. They wanna sell Chromebooks and Android Phones..
yaa no i dont think that will happen
Should at least be on the galaxy book 2

There is a tool on the microsoft store called WSAtools you can sideload any apk with it with a button click

It's good to see if it windows allows the google play store to windows.
The reference to miniclips has me mad nostalgic!!!
Is it a good idea to sideload banking apps?
just installed amazon apps but their appears zero apps avail no facebook, instagram or twitter

can I install all apps when playstore is downloaded. for example, Disney, Netflix etc.
Disney+ and Netflix already have native Windows apps. You can simply download them from the Microsoft Store. There's no need for an android app.
