I personally hated the quest board, I also didn’t enjoy how multiplayer was implemented in previous games. For example friends being limited by Hunter rank and their point in the story was frustrating
MHWorld/Iceborn is my favorite game of all time, and I am thinking wilds will beat it. I loved Rise/sunbreak as well. However this(your comment) is why I want it to be instanced. Or some kind of system for friends playing together. For reference I play games a lot with a friend of mine, however we live in different times zones and we don't get to play that much together. If we start a new game together we will be progressing at the same pace, however I get to play a lot more then he does, and when wilds comes out im for sure taking a week off for it. I will be so far ahead of him it is not even funny, and then I will once again be beating his monsters in like 5 minutes, which defeats the entire purpose. And I hate that. I have been taking him through World and I used my endgame character (full Fatalis gear) for it, however just used the defender stuff, and explained to him why defender stuff can be bad, but ugh...idk. Rise I just made a new character to help him through. My point being I don't want to have to make a brand new character just to help him through, because what happens when other friends want to play and I'm ahead of them as well? Gotta make a new character for each one? like...yeah screw that, esp if they bring back, deco/charm rng.
Played with a random in rise/sunbreak once who still had high rank gears but was on MR:40 fighting primordial Malzeno. You can imagine how that went. So honestly, the hunter rank system makes sense as you should be farming and scaling according to your rank. Mind you, some players are a lot stronger than where their rank is at, but that's only because they know what they're doing. A lot of newcomers feel pressured to catch up to those who's been playing for a long time because they wanna see big numbers and quicker hunting sessions.
Hunter rank isn't to discourage progression. And there is no real rush to reach end game as fast as possible. The fun in Monster Hunter games is the progression.
@@umbraoni4550 oh 100% don’t even get me started on new players trying to take on Alatreon or Fatalis in world at like mr30 seen it one too many times and they never beat it because they don’t listen.
Changes to the ecosystem you say? 😳 I love ecosystem and animal interactions in games. I love mechanics that take aspects from real life and realism into fantasy that makes things interesting. I'm looking forward to it might be nice to have a way to reintroduce species or have captive breeding programs in case you wipe out a species - though having there be a very real risk of never getting them back if you don't take proper precautions could also be very interesting I'm kind of sad about the hunting horn, though. It was much easier to join in on hunts or play solo with it's Rise version... Idk, I like both styles of it being available. I do like the old style, too. Maybe giving a buff to the older style and giving it a higher ceiling in some manner.
I prefer Rise Hunting Horn, compared to World, World Hunting Horn is good as well. Played Monster Hunter since 3 Ultimate and tried HH in each. Only in Rise it truly clicked for me.
Ima guess the Alpha’s are like the main monster to hunt and the other monsters that are there are much weaker but still a treat. Like fi the greatest jagras didn’t have normal jagrases but just great jagrases. Imagine that 0-0.
What I want to see: 1. Since Horizon Zero Dawn was partially inspired by Monster Hunter, it would be nice if someday Monster Hunter borrowed the robotic idea from Horizon Zero Dawn and created a mixed of pure organic, pure robotic and hybrid of mechanical organic monsters - a Monster Hunter Universe. 2. Besides from borrowing the robotic idea, maybe Monster Hunter could borrow the real time mutation idea like those in Jujutsu Kaisen or many other sources. In other words, a monster body could morph in real time (whether the current gaming technology allows a developer to do so or not is another story). In other words, a fire based monster could suddenly morph into a water based monster with a total different look and this implied that "switching a weapon to fight a single monster" could become meaningful. Hence, the game should allow a character to carry at least two weapons and to be able to switch them around fast (switching them through your mount is too slow to fight a monster performing real time mutation). 3. I am still waiting for the comeback of Malfestio which is able to put the player in a confuse state where the movement control is being reversed. This really confused a player on how to control the movement of the character especially when you tried to run away, you ran towards the monster. 4. Finally, hunter hunter.......a monster hunter could become a hunter hunter so hunters could fight against one another.
I'm really off put by the idea that you can essentially poach monster types in near extinction in the area. Monster Hunter lore has always included the Guild Knights whose primary purpose is to hunt other hunters who do not respect the ecosystem and the guild's rules. It's *WHY* hunts and even expeditions always had to be posted and logged in the older games. Now this may seem silly to have an emotional problem with in a video game, but as an IRL hunter this really makes me sad. Hunting has never been about killing animals, it's about maintaining balance in nature for the animals who are becoming overpopulated and showing a deep *RESPECT* to the animals and nature. A true hunter cares about the animals he hunts, he doesn't just kill things for pleasure or profit. I hope the devs understand this and will have anti-poaching game mechanics.
I'm just wanting story progression to be easier for teams. My wife and I are playing World (her for the first time) and we have to do a dance with the cutscenes in order for us to tackle the same monster together.
As a HBG main in world and LBG main for Rise I hope they do something new and cool with the bowguns. Also I hope they address the armour and power charm issues from the games. It basically just removes inventory space as you would never not have them on you.
Sounds really similar to The Guiding Lands endgame for Iceborne. Interconnected biomes with monsters cycling in and out and just spawning indefinite. Just on a wider scale.
I still think that the reason why monsters migrate from once place to another is because of the shift in the ecosystem, meaning in a certain time one place will be turn into another place. Example is: Forest locale will turn to a Desert locale after 5 hours (irl) this will also bring new environment traps, loots, endemic life and also new monsters in the locale. This will force other monster to migrate to other locale for the meantime. This is just the same with our animals in real life that migrate to other countries to survive or hunt.
Despite that I'm fully aware that they've had commentary on ecosystems and the purpose of hunting (for in setting and technically applies for real life) in past games, it still always surprises me when they create a new game about hunting monsters and make some kind of commentary about ecosystems and the purpose of hunting (also for this game apparently, the dangers of overhunting.) But hopefully that system is fun. My immediate fear is that a monster can become extinct in the area and therefore the player needs to deal with any alarming overpopulation or invasive species, so hopefully that isn't part of it.
With the lack of quest board, I have concern for playing with randos. I saw too much in Worlds Guiding Lands that I'd join a rando and find 3 hunters fighting 3 different monsters. I liked that I could pick a quest and everyone would focus on that.
HH is the only weapon I didn't touch in World because it seemed too difficult to bother with. I enjoyed in in Rise however. Not saying Rise's version is better though, I can't compare something I haven't tried. Assuming HH in World is more support and less beating stuff up, I understand why people prefer it, I probably would too.
Nope, HH in world is just needing to know the notes of your combo vs them just happening. You beat them up during the combo or can keep preforming them even if you miss an attack to continue your song. Highly recommend trying HH in world
I'm kinda sad that the HH will be going back to World's style. I absolutely hated it in MHW, and I've barely used it. I still don't understand it, unless it's a pure unga bunga version. In contrast to MHR, it's more dynamic, and I have fun using it. I don't think there's gonna be a sweet middle spot either. Oh well. While on the subject of weapons, I really wish they would bring the MHF weapons to Wilds. I wanna play with the Tonfas and Mag Spike again.
It is such a relief to hear that the HH is going back to the way it was in world. Rise made me straight up drop the weapon, which was so sad, because it was the first weapon I ever mained back when I first started playing mhw. Glad to know that I (and many other HH users, from what I've heard online) will be able to have our weapon back :'3
What if they made it like in world where every monster u encounter is a different size but the difficulty scales with size. Imagine loading in and seeing a huge (but also rare size) alpha monster and it being much harder than just a regular alpha monster.
I’ve always hated the old pick a mission and load into it I’m extremely happy it’s moving to an open world model to the point I’ll be playing this game much longer then any other monster hunter for that one simple detail
I liked the moves of Rise with the DB, but you were pretty open unless escaping through wirebugs... Spinning dash over the monster's back was a ton of fun. I hope it's better than World or Rise. Or equal.
i hope the "overhunting" element is a temporary thing and not actual extinction. Like, if you hunt a monster too much, you won't be able to find them for a certain amount of gameplay hours vs never again.
Just worried that, with the ability to fire while mounted, bowguns will get even more overpowered than they are now, pushing the game into looking more like a fps.
All weapons have a single light attack they can preform on mounts & all ranged weapons cannot use any coatings or ammo types while mounted. Mounted combat is not viable to play, just that you can pepper a monster to keep attention & some damage.
i dont like the sound of the "over hunting" mechanic, imagine farming for a rare drop youre just not getting, and everytime you fight it the chance of finding the monster gets lower.
I'm scared of the seamless open map cuz are we gonna get chances multiple of herd chasing us? btw those range weapons change must be auto Lock target & lock targeting cuz of herd.. my guess. some monsters will come with herd some go solo, maybe most of the end game monsters will be solo.

Still cant invite friends before cutscenes. Man. Why. They see the problem and decided to so something but actually fix it. I was so hyped for this game but the difficulty of playing with your friends as a new player is the main reason none of my friends will play worlds and was the main reason I didnt play for like 9 or 10 years. Such a bummer
Voiced PC 🤢🤮. No, that isn't something we needed. Also for for larger world and seamless loading. They better not cut back on the monster's for this otherwise it's detrimental.
Base games of MH most of the time have between 30 and 45 large Monsters, i wouldn't recommend to expect more. G-Rank/Masterrank is also never in a base game and that since 2004.
@lubbo5261 I am aware of the number of monsters and the G rank thing. But it always happens, devs tend to think people want larger maps and then put all their effort into that and cut core content. I would rather have more of smaller maps if it meant more monsters.
Most important thing is that Wilds is a BASE game, so please don't expect it to have Masterrank and a huge roster at launch. It will probably only have 30-40 large Monsters (maybe less depending on how much recources other parts of the game eat) with only Lowrank and Highrank at Launch like almost every base game. So please don't expect Wilds at launch to have the same amount of content like GU, World and Rise, or you just set yourself up to be dissapointed.
@@ericjoestar1065 50 Monsters would be the best case scenario, i expect ~40 Monsters because we right now don't know how many new mechanics and Monsters will be added to the game.
World was built from the ground up and they wasted like 1 year on zorah and 1 year on lagiacrus. Wilds ain't built from the ground up and is using the resident evil engine. This game has been in development for 6+ years now so it can have MR at the start.
Monster Hunter never had G-Rank(Masterrank) in any of its base games, be it MH1, Freedom 2, Tri, 4, etc Why should Capcom suddendly start to add MR to base games? Its just smarter from a financial stand point to release G-Rank (MR) in a later expansion to the game.
@@lubbo5261 well the fact that Wilds will be a huge game, way bigger than ever before like 1 locale being 2 to 3 times as big as they were in world. They didn't have to build it from the grounds either and they have had 6+ years in development. It would tqke multiple years to make a DLC even close to as big as the base game.
Huntinghorn is such an unfinished music project in MHW, 90% of the HH have bad music and all of them sound so silently, even the combat music make the HH sound unheardable, and when using weapon pose, only 3-4 hunting horn can actually release sound, while other dont. im sure this is one of the many reason HH rank last on weapon usage. and for Longsword, i hope theres 2 combat style, 1 japanese style which focus on sheath-iai slash-helmbreaker-forsight and the other is western longsword style, which replace the foresight and other move to action like parry, ofc some hard hitting monster need higher parry skill to counter, just like ironwall skill, but for parry.
And almost everyone that actually plays HH since the MH games have been around didn't like it because it took away from what made the HH fun. Not saying rise HH wasn't fun, but it's not how HH plays.
@DanteRatto because rise is made as an arcade game, not a MH game. Capcom has stated that they don't care about a weapons popularity to the total base, they care about the dedicated mains. Most of them left HH in rise because of the changes. While more people did try it out to play this is 100% true, it also isn't exactly what Capcom wanted for the player base. Go back & play HH in other titles and you'll likely see the appeal, but rise is entirely not made to be a traditional MH game from the ground up. It's stylized as an arcade action game to play on the go for the handheld. Rise wasn't a bad game mind you, but with how MH released a mainline title & then a spinoff of or 2 of that title every generation, they aren't going to have the mainline title be something that MH isn't.
I’m still waiting on the weapon trailers.

I think you got it the wrong way with alphas. I don't think the alpha is a bigger stronger version but the beta monsters are smaller and weaker. The alpha is the regular monster you hunt.
yay... more waiting for cutscenes to be over before my friends can join... love it..... -.-
As a former DB main, I tried out the hunting horn in Rise and absolutely loved it. Kinda sad to see it go, as I never really got into the OG hunting horn
Well world wasn't OG either. That was a rework from gen 3 & 4 HH.
Going to miss rise version of hunting horn😢
100% agree! i-frames were nice
I miss pre mh world where Armor had positive and negative skills, so armor builds felt really diverse and personalized
I really like this setup. The thought of villages offering certain items etc vs others is a great idea to me. We'll see how it all comes out, but I like that a lot.
I want them to put a short range local made walkie talkie to explain why you hear them talking to your ear in real time when you're hunting 😅
Seamless world with limits has me thinking guiding lands. Opening areas similar to world, following a monster from 1 to the other
Definitely wanting to see goubl and the ketcha watcha duo again with their armors from 3u and 4u respectively (or whatever game the ketcha watcha set looked nice in)
As a HH Main I loved World play set compared to MHR.
@@drypotato6990 I've never thought of it that way before and now that you say it....GIT GUD 🤣. Jokes aside I guess that would be the better option i struggled in the beginning when playing MHW but it was so satisfying once mastering it.
Is 3:48 from rise or this new game? Cause it looks way better than world.
I need another Fatalis fight in wild's. That dragon was so smart and the Sephiroth/Fatalis music was brilliant in my opinion.
Matchmaking is the worst thing about mh imo. It’s convoluted and way too many steps to get into a group.
Changes to the ecosystem you say? 😳 I love ecosystem and animal interactions in games.
I love mechanics that take aspects from real life and realism into fantasy that makes things interesting. I'm looking forward to it
might be nice to have a way to reintroduce species or have captive breeding programs in case you wipe out a species - though having there be a very real risk of never getting them back if you don't take proper precautions could also be very interesting
I'm kind of sad about the hunting horn, though. It was much easier to join in on hunts or play solo with it's Rise version... Idk, I like both styles of it being available. I do like the old style, too. Maybe giving a buff to the older style and giving it a higher ceiling in some manner.
I don't know about leading alphas away from the pack. Sounds like a cool idea that would quickly become tedious and annoying.
The number one thing I need now is a release date. We know it's 2025 but will it be a 5 month wait till January or a 17 month wait till December?
They aim for this fiscal year, so we shouldn't have to wait longer than until march
Imagine that 0-0.
alpha rajang sounds scary
Basically a Blangonga.^^
HH main here. (We do exist)Both Hunting Horns were good, but World just felt a little better.
What I want to see:
I'm concerned that the dual weapons system would not allow two of the same weapon. If thats the case then pure mains need to adjust to the system
You can, it's been confirmed
Maybe they return the middle bow gun from Tri.
Thank you for the updates! 🙏
Anything that makes People Wield the Toot Toot less is bad. I had more fun in rise then I did in World.
Because rise was a much better game world is slow dogshit
Two awful opinions
I preferred Rise Hunting Horn because we had a lot more options.
Im a hunting horn user myself. Before it excisted I mained hammer tho. In world in also using a hammer because of the changes
This is just the same with our animals in real life that migrate to other countries to survive or hunt.
words cannot explain how excited I am for this!!
Despite that I'm fully aware that they've had commentary on ecosystems and the purpose of hunting (for in setting and technically applies for real life) in past games, it still always surprises me when they create a new game about hunting monsters and make some kind of commentary about ecosystems and the purpose of hunting (also for this game apparently, the dangers of overhunting.)
But hopefully that system is fun. My immediate fear is that a monster can become extinct in the area and therefore the player needs to deal with any alarming overpopulation or invasive species, so hopefully that isn't part of it.
Can't wait to return to the Hunt!
With the lack of quest board, I have concern for playing with randos. I saw too much in Worlds Guiding Lands that I'd join a rando and find 3 hunters fighting 3 different monsters. I liked that I could pick a quest and everyone would focus on that.
Love the content I just can't wait to play wild I loved world 😊
I am fricking hyped!!!!
I NEED IT!!!
Im beyond excited for this one
I’ve always hated the old pick a mission and load into it I’m extremely happy it’s moving to an open world model to the point I’ll be playing this game much longer then any other monster hunter for that one simple detail
favourite biome? Misty peaks
The map has three dimensional topography is what they were getting at
I want to see sand barioth return
Favorite locale ever in any Monster Hunter game: Everwoods
Looks like another banger 1mil + units sold and if its better received than MHW then records will be broken. . Hype 🚂
It won't be ever again. That wouldn't make sense. It will be a timer or a game restart.
Ide love a monster list, to see whats returning and what's new
Just worried that, with the ability to fire while mounted, bowguns will get even more overpowered than they are now, pushing the game into looking more like a fps.
All weapons have a single light attack they can preform on mounts & all ranged weapons cannot use any coatings or ammo types while mounted. Mounted combat is not viable to play, just that you can pepper a monster to keep attention & some damage.
I wish they give us a demo version for both consoles and pc
I'm waiting for someone to explain why steam's store page lists wilds as a dating sim.
any ideas?
I just need a switch axe, insect glaive, long sword lol
i dont like the sound of the "over hunting" mechanic,
imagine farming for a rare drop youre just not getting, and everytime you fight it the chance of finding the monster gets lower.
In that case, I'd say alternate between two monsters, or swap locales since most monsters tend to have 2 locales they are in
I'm scared of the seamless open map cuz are we gonna get chances multiple of herd chasing us? btw those range weapons change must be auto Lock target & lock targeting cuz of herd.. my guess. some monsters will come with herd some go solo, maybe most of the end game monsters will be solo.
U can literally seperate the alpha from the herd, why are u complaining about something that isn't even a problem?
@@hugo-pg5tv no no not complaining chill bro.. I'm just stating that the end game monster will probably come solo like that lightning monster in trailer.. but who knows yet maybe capcom finds some way to make the herd possible to all monsters that will be so much interesting.
@@johnpedalpedu2072 they have already confirmed that there will be atleast 2 herd monsters at every locale. All of the alphas can be seperated from the herd by different mechanics.
@@hugo-pg5tv ah.. ok I miss that confirmation.. well dem, this one's gonna be a big world map. so excited!
@@johnpedalpedu2072 the locales wills be 2 to 3 times as big as they were in world too so 2 herds meeting eachother while u hunt a ain't that big of a deal.
can’t wait
What i think would be interesting is if each weapon gets a monster counter.
They all will, already confirmed there's some type of counter for each
@@themuffinprincesa21 neat, on another note, i can't wait to see what the food and cooking animation looks like
@@waantonproductions4186 cooking animation for sure! Especially since we know it won't be IRL footage like DD2
I really worry about no gathering hub and know quest board.
Know what i'll say it, i want prowler mode back😂
Hyped
Will the monsters still run away?
Got tedious chasing them around
As a Switch Axe player I would like the counter attack move from mh Rise stay in this new game (without the bugs thing) cuz with that weapon you doesn’t have an actually way for defend yourself
@@ericjoestar1065Swaxe was not boring in rise. There were still plenty of cool moves Swaxe had. The only way I could see it being boring is if you just spammed the counter over and over, while ignoring everything else you could do.
@@ericjoestar1065 so you just spammed counter.
I will FINALLY be able to UNIRONICALLY drive a monster to extinction. Kushala Daora count your days.
I hope decorations go back to the old way of making them and not the new crappy random chance to get what you want.
happy to see they are going back to monster hunter world style as rise was a massive letdown for me personally
It's gonna be great when someone releases a mod to shut up the palico / give it their incoherent cat noises back. If they change the subtitle too, much better.
I don't know why CAPCOM takes this kind of decisions, they are just plain weird.
Gonna be lit
Monster Hunter never had G-Rank(Masterrank) in any of its base games, be it MH1, Freedom 2, Tri, 4, etc
Why should Capcom suddendly start to add MR to base games? Its just smarter from a financial stand point to release G-Rank (MR) in a later expansion to the game.
@@lubbo5261 well the fact that Wilds will be a huge game, way bigger than ever before like 1 locale being 2 to 3 times as big as they were in world. They didn't have to build it from the grounds either and they have had 6+ years in development. It would tqke multiple years to make a DLC even close to as big as the base game.
Gamescom cant come soon enough
we already have alpha amd beta armor. though we could get a sigma or omega variants
💀
All well and good but can I catch endemic life and shove it in my room?
What happens to the speed runners if there are no loading whatsoever? 😆 I suppose there will be no quest time anymore. 🤔
So RIP wirebugs then
Should never have been a thing anyway
I greatly preferred the Rise HH.
And almost everyone that actually plays HH since the MH games have been around didn't like it because it took away from what made the HH fun.
Not saying rise HH wasn't fun, but it's not how HH plays.
@@themuffinprincesa21 More people played HH in Rise than any of the others. So maybe it's a good thing that "it's not how HH plays".
@@themuffinprincesa21 No, I didn't see the appeal. I hated it. Hence me saying my original comment.
@@DanteRatto then you aren't the player they want playing it to begin with. Which is why they are changing it back
Correction this is not coming after world this is just a new game it's not following after world ...I saw a interview about this
None of the game stories are interconnected. They are all their own separate stories with just some nods to the other games.
