Claymore, rusted anchor, dismounter, halberd, shamshir, ls gs, great epee, ballista, great club. All availabe in limgrave/weeping pen. Start vagabond and have at it.
Don't forget the Ornamental Straight Sword (can be obtained from beating the "tutorial" boss) and the Dragon Halberd (technically available really early, requires you to get good and beat the Dragonkin Soldier in Siofra River.) Both these weapons absolutely stomp in early levels, they make fighting overleveled phantoms feel fair. You don't especially need to make these your primary weapons, you can just pull them out whenever you see that the host has 2 buddies rocking Bull-Goat's, then swap back to something more tame once the host is alone. Of course, there isn't really anything stopping the Host from obtaining these weapons themselves other than ignorance, but still, don't bully the babies if they look that they don't know any better.
I invaded on RL1 for close to 8 months. Essentially trained to be an invader and learned how to survive OL phantoms and their arsenal of spells and weapons. The feeling of winning those invasions is insanely addicting.
I think the biggest barrier to entry for people attempting invasions for the first time (like you said) is discouragement after experiencing what it feels like to fight multiple people in the sandbox at the same time. Once you get the experience, it’s not as big of a deal or nearly as intimidating, but videos like this are really important for getting those people looking down off the precipice to take that first step. Nice 👍🏼
Thanks! yeah you just gotta go in with the mindset of "i'm gonna die a lot but most of it will be funny and sometimes I will win, and that will also be funny"
my setup is dragon halberd and BHS offstoc on a lvl9 hero. Those weapons don't take a lot of time to get, have OK requirements for a lvl10 character and the cool thing agout the Dragon halberd is that the lightning buff adds a flat 160 lightning damage which will is huge at this level I definitely recommend y'all to try this out
I was inspired by your RL 1 videos to make my own RL 1 invader. I've enjoyed the experience. Fighting honest co-op teams is fun, getting to invade Stormveil often is an absolute treat. Running into overleveled monsters isn't even bad, all things considered. I feel a bit like a bounty hunter because if I manage to bag an overleveled phantom, it's payday.
I've recently implemented that strat in my own build. I keep a fire misericorde in my offhand, so whenever a greatshield is being held up I just softswap my right hand away, L2 to kick, Y+L1 to equip my misericorde and take the riposte. Works surprisingly well (whenever I think about actually doing it lol)
Lots of co-opers use shields to block. It's a good PvE strat. Time for invaders to get their kickboxing gym membership :) Hammer talisman is also good. Drains stamina like you wouldn't believe.
I usually invade level 25 +3. It gets similar activity. The only issues I have had are when my opponents are using lightning infusion, or have maxed out stats to use ancient death rancor. Get hit with a couple skulls, and I'm going down. Occasionally I get the max moonveil, rivers of blood combo team that is rough to deal with. But overall it's pretty fun. I progressed the game with it, and it's slowly become a twink. I also coop with the same character though. Hoo boy do invaders get mad. The most hatemail I get is while using this character for coop. I try not to use the most OP stuff though. I have the rot pot recipe, and won't use it. I have spears that I can bleed infuse, but don't do that. I don't desire to be as mean as many twinks I have met in the past. I'll take a few losses for my pride of skill over toxicity.
RL 25 +3 is my favorite coop range because it is mostly helping new players through Stormveil. With it being one of the larger areas in the game, and no mid-level boss to break up the level, I enjoy getting to explore the whole castle in coop. I run a regen build at that level that uses holy ground to keep the party healed and fighting so we can clear the whole level in one go. Lots of fun, and helps the party deal with invaders as well. I've found that RL 1 +3 is the invading equivalent to a RL25 +3 coop character. In terms of where you invade vs where you coop. The build creation process is also remarkably similar because the weapon level is the same. The only real difference is you have about half the hp at RL 1 that you would have at RL 25. Both great early game build choices. Although I should add that RL 1 is not coop viable because it only matches up to RL 12, so most players will level out of the RL 1 range in their first hour of playing.
Little bit late to this one but every RL1 weapon +0 invasion build I've seen is missing the mark on one I've been testing awhile. Yes, it is an incredible pain in the butt to get through the game to get all the items, but it's so worth it melting high level co-op players and getting constant invasions at church of elleh. Rivers of blood, black bow, dragon communion seal. Silver tear husk helm for the stats, royal remains set for the life regen. Both soreseals, faith +5 talisman, and dex +5 talisman. Rot breath, rejection (for knock back), blood fly swarm for spells. Maxxed flasks 8/6 spread, regen/shield for special flask, and kukri equipped. Lamenter's prattling pate to grief. Most fights are over as soon as I get rot on the host-- they don't have bolluses yet to cure it and not enough flasks to outheal it. Rivers of blood does so much work as backup, losing the attack from silver tear is always worth it. I'm mashing my face against the lamenter boss right now to see if Lamenter's mask is better, will report back if I have good results.
Their damage numbers are scaled down (not nearly enough) but their defenses and options are not. You also have the triple status spammers which is really annoying if you don’t dupe curatives like me. Frankly I just don’t see this game being worth the headache in most cases
@@Kosmunist What’s the tool to beat constant triple dragon breath? Or am I just supposed to run around the map for 30 minutes until they do something stupid like separate?
Getting those 325k rune bags after popping a max phantom is so gratifying, RL9 with +3 vulgar militia, storm assault, and ancient dragon lightning pots are also great equalizers
The downscaling isnt all that good cuz they can still pack a Punch. The downscaling works on fixed values proportional to the level they co op in. Worst scenario is a bad ganker sweatlord got password summoned or is a capped put mage. They can specifically max put int and join with no real consequence. Same w STR bros.
So, I do Invasions at level 150 all the time. I find that I am constantly bouncing from one invasion to the net without having to wait for very long- quite often I get into an invasion as soon as I put my sign down. I do make videos of my invasions also, which you can see on my channel of course....lol. Anyway, in this video you said that it is more difficult to get invasions at the 100+ level, but I have not experienced that. I will say, however, that when I want to play as a hunter, it does take forever to be called in as a blue. Sometimes I have gone for two hours with the blue call ring on, only to never get the call, which can be disappointing.
Honestly, this reminds me of this one bonfire duel I had in DS3. It was a herald that had picked up a halberd vs. my axe swinging warrior ass. It was a lot of fun because no one hit could end the fight. So we just kept wailing on each other back and forth trying to edge out a win. I forget if I even won.
I’ve just got my min maxed lvl 30 +3/7 and that’s all I needed to get 40 vigor and all the gear I wanted with 42 poise. I could honestly do it with less but pve is way harder to get through. My favorite weapon is zamor curved sword and I got it fair and square from the mountaintop hero’s grave. One of my first invasions with it was a gank squad at raya lucaria where I tricked them into dying to the ball. When I got the 350k runes or so from the phantom I started laughing so hard the ball got me too but I had already won. 😂
In the words of the director - invader's are just an intelligent AI. You can't have a fair fight. As an invader you have to be creative, cuz all odds are stack against you. Cep in ds2 cuz you can invade regarless if they have help or not. Just get 4 talisman slots at lvl 20. Its fun, and far easier to achieve than you'd think.i also like the options because you are too low level to specialize.
ive invaded at lvl 30 and some dude put a password and summoned his lvl 200 mate and there was no scaling. he would to just over 500 damage with an r1 and had easy 2k + hp
you are out of your mind if you think "they are scaled down, it's okay" is a reasonable defense of the state of sub-meta invasions. when you assert this, you show the thumbnail clip where, with great latency luck, you got hit a single time by only the weapon part of corpse piler (not the laser beam), and then where the left hand uchi misses with their jump attack. it would have killed you outright if they were six inches closer and both hits landed. it looks like your setup ought to have about 160 robustness, so we can work backwards from how much your bleed bar fills and deduce that their rivers has 78 bleed or so, which puts them at 80 arcane (status buildup isn't scaled down at all btw). so, both hits (all four, counting the lasers) of the first corpse piler input would've bled you out immediately and killed you too, had you not interrupted them. i know the point of the video is that this sort of invasion isn't as common as people might think, but i think you're misrepresenting things a little here lol. a nice parry, yes, but how did that invasion happen to end? 🤔
