I bought this head from Andertons a month ago. It's superb! Properly loud and SO versatile (some would say too versatile). The bluetooth app opens it up for live work more than I thought it would.
Lee is one of my favorite bass players. I sometimes watch Anderton's bass videos just to see him play. I didn't realize he was also a great guitar player.
I think this is a wonderful unit. Love the sounds that it can deliver. Some may not be that high quality but at a live gig, no one notices at all. Then with 3 presets, that means you got 4 tailored sounds at your disposal. If it were a true 500w @ 4ohms this baby is perfect for medium sized gigs. Pair it up with a 2x10 & a 1x15. Am so keen to get this head. No more pedals! Just a foot switch.
It looks and sounds good. Slightly (only slightly) disappointed that it doesn't have an effects loop on the back of the amp; the Katana bass combos have those so it feels like they may have missed a trick (although the on-board effects sound pretty good).
I'm not looking for an amp like this but it sounds great. I have a friend who plays a Katana guitar amp live and he swears by it especially for the range of tones and versatility. Great to see a head option for bass. I love Cici but miss the frequency and length of the bass videos you guys used to do with Nathan and Lee...
I went into central London to try both the combos and this head. All these buttons gave me a headache. The combo is class A/B and head class D. The sound different. I may have to try it again but I just became frustrated. On the frequency of vids and length I fully agree. To me it feels like this channel has moved even more towards guitars than before.
I tried zooming in on the head with my laptop, used the camera zoom on my phone, and looked at the Sire site. I couldn't figure it out either. Hopefully they'll do a review video with it.
@@xevilashx V10 is new series and site only shows new model for now, it possible this one to be custom made or old version or prototype. But its definitely a V10. Drop mail to andertons maybe they can shed some light.
I'm half and half bass and guitar player (meaning I'm not very good at either - joking, I'm decent :P) but looking for a bass amp for my guitar since I mostly travel solo and loop a lot. Is this katana a good choise for a guitar or should I stick with the bassman?
All the cool kids who rock a 2×10 cab put it upright vertically like this with the head on top, and every manufacturer of 2x10 bass cabs puts the logo and little rubber feet so that it's designed to sit horizontally. Who's right?
Good bass amp but not cheap...great for in a studio, to delicate to road tour plus you need a degree in computing to set up...a bit gimmicky, people will be fiddling for hours & why is it so expensive as the guitar version is far cheaper ?...we play bass, you just want a good tone...nice but i'll stick to my Warwick WA300 Class A bass head...i just run it straight, don't use the 10 band graphic but looks nice as the purple lights stay on whether switched on or off...just the bass & treble shelving pots & some compression...no effects but the best tone i've got in 45+ years of playing bass... A fantastic real Class A bass tone, the Boss would be good for in a studio especially if you don't want or can't afford many bass effects pedals or you play other instruments & home record/mix...nice but to many choices for me, i would be messing about with it for hours which is kinda a waste of time if recording...i like the HPF pot, i use a Broughton HPF/LPF pedal in my Warwick bass amps effects loop...the people that can afford the Boss will like it but you can get a lot of bass amps for that price....
Possibly she knows in her hear that most of these features are just toys that she would never use. She wants a great bass tone, she gets quirky gimics. Its funny.
Oh man! You can't believe for how long I've been waiting and begging Boss to make a bass head. And now It's here.
I really like that you all have added a drummer to these bass review vids. Keep up the great work CiCi and Lee, I always enjoy yalls work.

Enjoyed demoing this!

Love the style switch up on the intro jam, sounded great too!

that intro jam was fuckin' gorgeous !!!! lee is actually a very good guitar player !!!! should do this more guys !!!!
Good to see CiCi on again!
Like to hear it with that legendary refrigerator size Ampeg 8 x 10 cab.
Well CiCi sure knows her sh!t. She’s the perfect spokesperson. Good on ya’
Thanks Lee, thanks Cici, finger funk, some nice sounds, & a solid review !
CC as usual in control, loved the vid guys.
Great Demo. Sounds Good.
Great bass, head, playing, and demo

Sounds Great!!! Awesome demo🎸👍
刀 never disappoints!
Neither does 技...
Great sounding amp.

love your videos
My first thought when you turned the drive up: Jamiroquai Deeper Underground 🦖
Roland/Boss has really thought this one out.
Could you all do a demo on KATANA-500 BASS HEAD paired with MarkBass Cabs? Thanks so much!
Forget the amp, those stools look super cool!
That’s a funny looking 6 string bass that Lee is using.
does he normally play 6ers? i dig that Sire myself
When you hear Pete, but that's Skinny Lee :)
Are you saying there’s a Fat Lee?
@@stanknugget that's Captain's word. The 'skinny Lee'.
Katana head, Genzler Kinetix, Orange terror Arrrrrrrrgghhhh I don’t know what to choose😢
Can we buy that sire bass😮
I kinda want one!
why the clickbait video title? I'm very curious how a Boss ME90B connected straight into a PA power amp would compare to this head.
listening to bass by itself is about as interesting as driving your car on a rolling road for 'exercise'
Can’t seem to find that Sire model. Looks lovely.

its Sire V10
@@rachitbhengra4298you sure? The pickup configuration doesn’t look like it.

i keep hearing this subtle cheap high freq range over every setting

What basses were used? An Ibanez Soundgear and a Marcus Miller with nice tops. Could you name it please?
It's a Sire V10 Alder-5 but it's custom one that Lee owns.
Interesting
How stupidly good is Lee though?!

Like it matters?
Can should be vert!
The perfect bass head has an integrated tuner
Ahh I had a Line 6 Lowdown amp. Worst purchase lol
I miss the reviews with Nathan
Maiden Voyage
does anyone think ( sorry forget his name) that gars looks like Backpacker Bens older brother ?
bAss katana
Cici is beautiful
Jaco Pastorius would have bought this and then taped the bass cut on full for maximum pokieness.
The guitar in the intro jam has amazing tone, didn't even listen to the bass lol

Wouldn't pay five quid for this amp.
Way overpriced for what it is. I would still go for an Ampeg, Aguilar of a Markbass over this thing
Doesn’t anyone play the low strings these days on a bass?
not even a bass player.
who
@@caknut yours truly
This intro “jam” is really weird.
Definitely not the direction i would go to try and sell me a bass head...
Perfect amp ! But why does her reaction to every action start with 'ha-ha-ha' ?🤔

Because she's having fun?
@xevilashx 😂😂😂 looks strange , drug or some physical problems. Her hahaha for almost every response 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Would've been nice if you had actual musicians to test the gear out..
Stop making reviews of bass gear
