This is best Bemba history I have ever come across, very accurate, Bembas are from the Kongo Kingdom and they just came to be an integral part of the Lubas not that they were Luba by birth. The point of correction the map were it is said that the bemba is the largest ethnic group not every tribe there is bemba.
For example the copper belt tribe is not affiliated to bemba. Putting copper belt to Bemba grouping is political.

Yes the map shows areas where Bemba is spoken and that’s why I had to state in the narration that it’s Bemba and those with languages closely related to Bemba.
In this regard and context , the map is accurate especially considering that the Copperbelt is Lamba land yet they speak Bemba.

We need to properly preserve this history in a proper way for our future generations. Could ypu also do another presentation on how all the bemba tribes came about i.e in Luapula and Northern Provinces

  • @eastafricanist9156

Great documentary. As a Ugandan, the big question for me is how one Bemba Musota ends up becoming such a foundational figure in Buganda politics that all Kabakas (kings) of Buganda - up to and including the present Kabaka Mutebi, have carried the title "Bemba". Clearly there was also a northern migration by a splinter group of the Bemba into present day Tanzania and Uganda. I
believe some Tz tribes like Baziba on the western shores of lake victoria, were also part of the same northward Bemba migration. I challenge this chanell to do some more research aimed at shedding more light on these conections. Thx again. New sub.

Hi there. A DRC 🇨🇩 citizen here. Just to bring a small correction and precision to your research. TSHOPO is pronounced like CHOPO, like TSHANDA is spelled CHANDA in Zambia 🇿🇲, ...
As the DRC 🇨🇩 population you have referred to as NGANDU in the then ORIENTAL PROVINCE (PROVINCE ORIENTALE) and EQUATOR PROVINCE (PROVINCE DE L'ÉQUATEUR), this population occupies the territory called YAHUMA. MONGANDO is someone who belongs to the NGANDO tribe whereas BANGANDO is plural of MONGANDO.
BANGANDO (people) language is called KINGANDO and to communicate with other tribes around them like LOKELE, TOPOKE, MBOLE,... they use either LINGALA🇨🇩🇨🇬 or SWAHILI.
NGANDO people are skilful fishing people, agriculture people and hunters.
Here are two (2) names belonging to BANGANDO:
    1. EMENGI.
    2. LOYOMBO.
N.B. NGANDO in LINGALA means CROCODILE 🐊.
    Keep up the great work!
I have also subscribed to your channel.
    Thanks. 🇨🇩🤝🇿🇲

Well-done. I enjoyed watching the documentary and learning lots about facts that I’d otherwise known differently. Here is a question; we were taught in Junior Secondary History that the Ngoni’s were defeated by the Bembas led by Chileshe Chepela and the Ngoni’s ran away with a Bemba Princess who later became one of Mpezeni’s wives and that’s the source of the tribal cousinship. Is this true?
