Technically it’s supposed to be eaten with a spoon made of bone, but I can see why they’ve switched to wooden over time 🤔
I don't doubt that's true and matters if you like caviar. But there's no way the difference is big enough that it'd make a difference if you already don't like it served from a metal spoon

Red Velvet isn't just chocolate cake that it's red, it's VANILLA cake that has cocoa and vinegar in it, as well as a LOT of red dye, which changes the texture and a lot of people have an intolerance to.

Remi d me Never to eat your red velvet cake if you use vanilla cake or red food coloring to your cake. Try finding an old southern recipe. You wont those things at all. You will find cocoa, buttermilk, vinegar, which when combined turn the batter red
The red velvet cake they had is just a chocolate cake dyed red. Real red velvet cake doesn't have food coloring. You use a purer chocolate, like Dutch chocolate, vinegar and baking soda, (I'm serious about that) which reacts with the chocolate, giving it a silkier texture, and giving the cake a red tinge.
The problem with truffle is that 90% of the added "truffle" in stuff is truffle oil/"aroma" and not real truffle. So most stuff that have truffle oil in it are hit or miss, eating the real thing in a resturant is something els.
And the 10% that's real truffle is even more disgusting. Tastes like rot. Then once the shavings warm up on top of like pasta or something they get all aromatic and it will legit make me heave.
Same sort of thing happens with Caviar.
The good stuff is only a few days old and comes from a very specific sturgeon fish, they very likely didn't have that.
I think the quality of the truffle oil is important. Truffle is absolutely my favorite flavor, and I always get good-quality oil that is infused with real truffles. Almost always there is some artificial flavoring, but if you get an oil with some legit truffle flavor it is fantastic.

As someone who likes baking, Red Velvet cakes usually have vinegar and buttermilk in them too! It gives them that little taaang. So it’s basically chocolate cake, but there are some differences~

red velvet is more of a baking technique than anything, in the cake batter the leavening is caused by vinegar and baking soda reacting together, this + the use of cake flour instead of regular flour gives it the super velvety texture. you can make velvet cakes that arent all red or chocolate, thats just the best kind hehe
I actually like red velvet by itself. The thing I don’t like is most of the time cream cheese frosting is the frosting of choice for red velvet cake, which I don’t like. It’s just to heavy and dense for my taste.

Red velvet isn't just chocolate cake. It's doesn't really even taste like chocolate. Plus, I have found red velvet to be a more of a moist cake than most chocolate ones.
Red velvet is literally just chocolate cake without Dutch-process cocoa. That you've had dry cakes doesn't change this fact.

Believe it or not, you gotta find the right brand. I, like you, can’t finish some brands, sweat just like you said. Some are delicious though. May not be worth the search for you though. There are more bad brands in my experience.
Iberia makes it with coconut pieces inside. It's so good and sweet, needs to be cold though.
