There's no reason to take the punishment. With a game like this, taking the punishment should statistically have the advantage, but the way they did it, it's the complete opposite. So yeah, no reason to not abstain. An even more balanced version would need an even number of players, say 4, with 2v2 meaning the abstainers take the punishment. A scoring system in place to sow distrust and keep people from making pacts such as two people both accepting every time to avoid any punishment. Of course with a reward for the one with the highest score at the end.

btw if they can make a holder for the sword I think it should go next to the other two guitars so we can see it. because with people sitting in the chairs we can't see the sword.
