I think that's his brand. To frustrate us and irritate us and make us pull our hair out. RCE is funny but he is annoying as well. Seeing someone who can actually make something large and understand the game is so nice.
As I understand his subscription stuff has serious play. So no idea how serious he is until then. So this one he's kind of doing his jacking around type of stuff perhaps? I mean the free stuff. @@greenjackle
RCE messed up so badly that I unsubscribed out of frustration 😅🙃 So very super glad I found this channel and I've already sent it around to friends to check out too
Wow, I just watched the whole series today in one sitting... 💀 I don't know how many hours I've spent watching it, but it was worth every minute. I just discovered your channel, and I already love it soooo much!! Everything you do is really cool, and your voice just sounds so nice. I can't wait for the next one! :)
2 things. 1 i think adding the water sources is fine. 2 the time lapses is also fine. It's fun to see you plan how to make stuff but the construction itself is fun sped up
29:32 I've used micro districts for specific industries (e.g. mining). I add in a bit of supporting industry, then turn off imports for anything but the required basic input resources, and obviously only export the output products. Bots for workers, all buildings at 100% with no wastage. Otherwise yea, they kinda need to be self sufficient for construction etc
Multiple parallel district crossings improves resource throughput between districts. There's no limit on how many you can connect between the same 2 districts.
Probably make it like an end game/very late game building that takes a ton of resources to build and keep going. Because realistically speaking at this point in the game the droughts or bad tides isn't rly gonna be a challenge anymore just an annoyance
@MaxisFensterreinigung that should be an equivalent to the folk tales bad water plant, and likely be for another faction. Be a way for them to extract large amounts of water but at the loss of bad water. Would honestly be an intresting trade-off.
0:27 yep you got me a big damn 😅 well Hella OK. Got me on that. I’m going to follow you but that’s a good one that I always wondered what it would be like to literally engineer entire timber Bourne to just extreme rates. I don’t even own a computer, which is what makes this very funny. Anyway, thank you very much for being you. Keep it up
Love the big projects, happy every time I get a upload notification. Definitely add them, there super fun to project around, in the original (update 6) map layout. Maybe make a video on updating the bad water pipe system since they are not compatible. Eigter way I'll be Bach to watch
sure a fair place to place a water source. And again I wanna say how much I love this Timberborn playthrough! I wish you could upload more often, if not too much stress :)
Add them in! Also a short comments about aesthetics the dams/lakes are beautiful to have but undergrounds dams are cool as well.. So suggestion from me is since you covered the north dam up, could you add another layer of a dam on top of the intended city? A smaller dam like a crown on top of a city and an underground dam. And then fill that up with a pressurized pipe from the bottom dam, with the added water sources you should be able to fill the crown dam up. This add some anesthetics back in and poses some challenge as well 😇😊 Maybe you got other plans hey I'm just enjoying whatever you do hehe. 🎉 Awesome series man!❤
One way you could have both a pipe and a river is you could have an area anywhere along the pipe that comes up by a block or two, then use a gate set to keep the water at a set height (say .6) and build the walls on the edge of the pipe one higher. This would put a river over your pipe while still allowing the pipe to climb where you need it to. Also could be used as a recreation area for your population in the future. If you put gates at the end of the pipe it would also mean that water cant flow back into the pipe during a dry season and evaporate in the river allowing you to save water automatically.
Just a idea from the steam work shop.. You may want to look into getting a mod I view as a must have.. It is "Pipe extension" changes all pumps/showers where they can suck water down to 30 blocks, can limit it's pipe depth if you want it only to go part way down and say keep a level for the plants while the 1-29 would be for drinking or how ever deep/tall it is or just build with the water 31 blocks deep keeping the 31st row for the crops and 30 for drinking/use...
Dear Zeddic, The question you should ask is how much longer are you going to play this map? If your answer is a few more times. Then don't worry about the water sources. If your answer is at least 10 plus more shows then just add it in. Clearly not many knew you didn't have it so that is up to you. Remember you're the creator. Not us. Be confident and do what you want to do. Had you already added them and explained why you did. I personally would have not cared and I would have understood why you did it. So ultimately you asking permission means you know what you want to do. You just want validation. So do whatever you want. It is your series. We are here for your story. Maybe the beavers dug a bit too deep and found a new water source. Then you add a source of water. Or they dug too deep and found more poo water. Tell your story and have fun. PS. Your dam has platforms along the edges. When water flows upwards. Well it will shoot out of those. So you need to cap them or replace them with levees.
If you want to get the whole map green - you simply don't have choice but to add water sources) That's fine, the point of this playthrough is not to survive, but to utilize the map fully. Also on crossings - 1 is enough only for outpost. Like metal or bad water outposts, where you need to move only the end product, a tiny bit of wood (that you can also grow locally, because they don't require much), and whatever your bots need. But for huge construction sites, connecting industries, connecting tree farms to industries, etc. I use at least 3 buildings for a single crossing for such cases. And even then sometimes it is barely enough. Sadly you can't set up individual crossing buildings directly, only the entire import/export policy between two districts.
hey zeddic, I say fair game for the extra water sources! Eventually, if you're comfortable with it, could you show your desk setup in a video if you run out of timberborn content?
Go for it. You just barely missed that update, might as well add it. LIke you said, it won't make a HUGE difference, but it's something you're missing.
I am ok with you adding the missed water... you missed it by accident... lets fix and move on :D I prefer time lapses over skips! After you decided to go to a pressurized pipe.. Should have gone with straight pathing instead of curve, BUT.. the random curves might come in handy later!! I LOVE doing elevated water storages.. I normally get my farming area's set.. Then build a water storage above it ;) works great for doubling up on function per tile :D But for water.. I normally have a base level gate to pressure pump the bad water over to power station area.. But for good water, I have the other gate, but I build as thin as I can, but as tall as I can, and have the water go from there to the water storage area.. Then no matter the height of my water storage, I can always increase if needed.. For the bad water, the exit point I do the same, I build a tower for it to pump out. Then I can build a power system like yours, But I can make it multiple levels with the water zig zagging all through it ;) Can make TWs of power easily :D But MAN I love your builds, they're organized and well thought out!! Keep em comin!!
You should add it! After all, it was balanced that way in the release version. You should't hinder yourself just for startating a few days before the og update
What a great Video again. Love watching your series. When you said you are going up with the new side, do you mean like treehouses on and levels up on big pillars?
I would really like to see a choo choo mod added. Every time I have played with them, I can't get things to balance properly. I know I am missing something obvious in there us.
Adding the water sources to "update" the map is fair enough. The source you connected to the badwater pipe in this episode only will add pressure during badtides. Is it worth adding a sluice where the pipe from the source meets the pipe coming from the badwater sources? The sluice works as a 1 way valve. during droughts and the wet season, the section of pipe between the source and the main pipe is funcionally useless, or even hurting a bit as all that it's doing is allowing for greater evaporation losses which the main pipe would need to compensate of if badwater was allowed to flow in that section. A long way of me saying that during droughts and wet seasons, the overall pressure in the main pipe would drop slightly to compensate for evaporation in a sidepipe that's functionally useless in that period.
I say itd be fair game to add the water sources with dev tools - but add it somewhere you have not been/ build yet. In a weird location that just goes off the map, as if it was always there but unnoticed
Oh yeah, fair play to put the water sources in with dev mode.
Are you sarcastic?

Multiple parallel district crossings improves resource throughput between districts. There's no limit on how many you can connect between the same 2 districts.

Absolutely fair to add the water sources, basically just manually updating the map.
kinda wish they will do like bad water purifiers so you can convert bad water holes into good water that you can open all year round.
That would be too powerful of a building.
Maybe like a desalination factory. You have to pump the water, purify it with power (and maybe a new resource) and than have clean water
Probably make it like an end game/very late game building that takes a ton of resources to build and keep going.

28:20 The District Crossings are slow, but they can work in parallel, so I often have 3 or 4 of them when I need to do big batch imports like that.
The under water distric will be cool.
At this point there is no harm in having that extra water source, won't be a game changer.
Add sluices randomly to aqueducts to fill ponds to grow the green.

You can keep the lake and the pipe, on the water source, so it still looks pretty and has power through the pipe

sub levies of your new river/pipe for earth blocks too while you add the new water sources

Maybe a 'fake aqueduct'? That is, a pipe that actually moves the water in the floor of the (elevated) aquaduct, hidden by a layer of water on top.
Having played this map a fair amount myself, you will probably need that extra water source if you want to green the entire map anyway.

add it, for the content!
Oh man, how long does it take to record a half hour episode at 1fps?
