    Definitely something I'm looking to do

    • @DainLuka
      @DainLuka  ปีที่แล้ว +2

  • @SivaChance

    Oh man, thank you so much for this video. I've watched a few and yours was the most calming (gave me more confidence to actually pursue it) and very informational (I looked up and liked the Wake Up Sydney for initial accommodations too before watching this, you mentioning it was awesome).
    There's one thing I can't seem to double confirm though. If I already have a remote job that pays well and I'm not worried about extending my stay for a 2nd or 3rd year, I understand I can just enter Australia with the WHV and not get any work at all for all 12 months and leave after, right? Was planning on just doing 1 year then another 1 year in NZ similarly with their WHV.
    Thanks again for the awesome video! Really appreciate it 🙏🏽

    • @DainLuka
      @DainLuka  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @SivaChance ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DainLuka Awesome thanks for the response! I do have one more question I'm not sure you'd have the answer for but I'll ask anyway:
      If my intentions were to do 1 year from June 2023 - June 2024, but I wanted to make a casual 1-week trip there first prior around March 2023. If I applied now and got accepted, would I be able to visit Sydney in March as part of my regular travel visa and not trigger the 12-months WHV so that I can have that start proper from June instead?

      That’s a great question !! I always look for hostels with security lockers and ones that look big enough to fit a laptop/camera etc. you can usually see on photos if a hostel has them :)

    What price is to be expected at Wake Up! Sydney? While searching on prices from Sweden the prices seemed quite crazy. Saw a room shared by 10 people where they still expected 70 AUD per night per person. Is it the booking sites ramping up the prices perhaps? I also checked on Wake Up!'s own site where i found pretty much the same high prices.

    Hi all, me, my wife and our 2 children are looking to permanently move to the Gold Coast area. I have 16 years experience as an ultrasonic technician on the railway and was hoping to carry this on over in Oz. Just after some info on what steps I should take in trying to find a job over there whilst I’m still in the Uk, if I need to get sponsored and what visa I should i apply for and is it possible to find a job of this sort before making the move etc….
    My wife owns her own recruitment company here in the uk and would like to carry on in this sector over there also.
    Any help would be much appreciated
    Thankyou

    Hey Dain, probs a stupid question, but do the visas get accepted/declined through email/online? I am hoping to apply for the visa while I would be travelling in Bali, meaning I wont have access to my home address. Cant find any info online about it. The plan is to leave UK, backpack around Southeast Asia and then work in Aus, just worried ive now left the working visa too late as I leave UK in a couple weeks

    • @DainLuka

      @@DainLuka aah that’s perfect! Thanks for the reply! Are you able to select dates of when you want the visa to start or does it simply start instantly? I’m thinking of applying for it a few months before actually heading to Aus as I’m worried by Bali I won’t have the 5000 AUD. so thinking of applying now when I have more than that, hopefully getting accepted, but starting the year visa in a few months time rather than right now
