I’m going to Gold Coast with a friend in one month on a working holiday visa. And I’m so exited but also very overwhelmed, watching your videos have been beyond helpful. So I just wanted to thank you!!
Hey Emily! thanks for watching :) ahh your gonna have the best time! just go with an open mind and see what happens! 🤩
That’s pretty spot on, my husband and I budget $1000 each for outgoing expenses living in Southwest Sydney, I agree that Wollongong is a little cheaper as I am original from there, it’s a beautiful place 😊
Ah thats good to hear! Wollongong is beautiful love living here ! thanks for watching 😊
Love that you wrote all the costs up on the top left! Thank you so much for your videos!
Thanks for watching Lucy!
so much info, thanks a lot for sharing!
No problem thanks for watching 😊
I'll agree grocery shopping IS costly in Aus. However, you can mitigate costs a bit by being really organized & trying to only shop ONCE a week! Working out menus, clever storage - freezing specials, maybe. I don't remember the last time we ate out & we make great coffee @ home - save yourself upwards of $2.6K/yr. I'd guess that SYD would compare to living in parts of London & other high cost areas of UK - but prices there have sky rocketed since '21. As a couple we spend around $260/wk in Woolies & we're in Tasmania, so often have supply chain Issues! And we pay $2/lt for gas/petrol... Feb '24
I need to be organised !! I’ve started going to local markets and the produce is SO MUCH cheaper ! Thanks for watching ☺️
Great video! What I’m missing here is comparing it to the e.g. minimum wage salary or typical salary that person on WHV would have earn, am I able to save something for travelling?
Hey mate thanks for watching ! I have a video about jobs and typical wages it’s title how to get a job etc .. in regards to saving it all depends on how much someone works and their lifestyle so that’s very subjective !
Hi Dain , just re the insurance thing , you know as a Brit that you are covered health wise as per the reciprocal agreement between the UK and Australia so health care is free for you .
Hey Brian thanks for watching 😊! Yes I have a Medicare card but you still have to pay for health care and it doesn’t cover everything. For instance an ambulance! Wouldn’t want to front a bill if anything happened 😅🤦♂️
And ambulance is free in Queensland
I live in New South Wales where it’s $800 👌😂
I’m from British Columbia, Canada. So far prices are pretty good aside from housing almost the same as B.C. Phone plans are incredible for cheap. And busses and transit are much better.
Thats good to know! Thanks for watching 🙌
Where I live in the outer suburbs of Sydney , near Liverpool and rent for appartments are between 400 and 500 dollars per week . If you are living in the CBD then you are paying through the roof . Wollongong is better because it is naturally is beautiful and it has beaches . Heaps better than Bondi Beach !
Thanks for watching Louisa!! yes Sydney rent is CRAZY!!!
4.5k per month. Same in Toronto pretty much.
Thanks for watching !!
Honestly it seems like UK prices!
Thats interesting! from what my friends say back home it sounds as if the UK has gotten very expensive recently 😳
As an American I get jealous of these videos because everything is so cheap. I spend about a third of my income on healthcare per year plus everything else is double Australian prices.
I love travelling to America but I have to agree its very expensive over there! thanks for watching 😊
Australia never mentions the 12,000 people who leave the country every year..permanently
Daniel said that's misinformation your now under arrest
Guys with a bun , always a dislike !
People that comment rude things on my videos - also a dislike 👎 thanks for watching though 🌞
How shallow and ignorant
