This series feels like The Wade Show forgot to lock-on the Knuckles cartridge.

It was revolutionary.
This deserves all the likes.
For me, the only real offender in that regard was episode 4. Every other episode gave Knuckles a fair amount of screen time to me. Still, while I give the movies solid As, I'd give the show about a C+. It wasn't horrible, it wasn't fantastic, it was just okay.
This is the perfect analogy for the show
Can't wait for "Shadow" starring the G.U.N. Commander coming to terms with what his Uncle did at Thanksgiving.
If said series doesn't involve Olive Garden, I'm not interested...

Sonic Movie Franchise is apparently going to have to learn the same lessons the Transformers did: we’re not here for the Human characters, we’re here for the goofy cartoon woodland creatures who run fast, punch stuff, and annoy a mad scientist with phenomenal facial hair.

And the first 2 films- mainly 1- at least understood this to an extent.
Meanwhile, it’s painfully obvious this show got into production before the higher ups realized how expensive it would actually end up being and didn’t bother trying to salvage it.
I'm actually neutral on that.
I like the human supporting cast in TF Animated, and the Skybound comics is doing a good job of making you care for them.
I agree that they're not necessary, Beast Wars proved that a long time ago, but they don't always hold the story back. I leave that in the execution department.

Although I like the first sonic movie they should of went into the sonic world after. Sonic going into the real world was cool for one movie but the sequels should of been like the Mario movie fully animated and in the sonic world.
Because this show is labeled as an "event" on Paramount+ my friend gave me a conspiracy theory when we sat down to watch it that they're going to remove it around the time Sonic 3 comes out
then when Sonic 3 comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray, they package it in with the Knuckles show as "Sonic 3 & Knuckles"
I think it is poised to have a Blu ray release soon though so it’s not going away. BUT they do need to put the two together when the third movie releases physically

I think what would have been a much better scene, and a more reinforced connection to the games is Knuckles mentioning Perfect Chaos and his destruction caused serious problems for his tribe or something along those lines.
The 7 Chaos Emerald and the Master Emerald exist so, maybe Knuckles’ tribe accidentally summoned the destroyer god when trying to unlock the secrets of their power?
I understand that animating Knuckles was expensive but honestly if he was gonna spend this little time on camera then maybe it would have been better to reduce the length of the show by half. The show was called Knuckles so it was fair to expect that the main character is Knuckles
I'd have taken a short with all the characters bonding over something silly, like showing Knuckles what a movie is etc. rather than an adventure that barely features the character that shares the title name of the series.

That’s fair. Considering how short this show was, episode and season length, you could’ve condensed it down to a movie. Then you’d have a movie budget and knuckles could appear more. Or better yet make it animated. I enjoyed the show but I understand some of the complaints.

I don’t understand how I saw so much praise for it. When I hear Knuckles gets his own show I would expect something about the history of the echidna or setting up Chaos for the movies. Instead it’s about Wade’s bowling tournament

I agree. I felt like I was going insane lmao. It's one thing to say its fine as a kid's show, sure. But the insane amounts of people saying its a 9 or 10, or that its one of the best Sonic shows--absolutely bonkers.

i think the biggest red flag for me was the fact sonic and tails were considered “guest stars” and they wouldnt appear for the entire series. i get WHY they didnt but i wanted movie team sonic to hang out more cuz they all feel so distant now
This I don't think it was an issue because, well, the series is called Knuckles.... that makes sense. I heard a rumor that they may be shifting Knuckles into a show featuring all three more prominently at which point its just Sonic the Series instead of Knuckles, and that would have been fine if they wanted to do that. But obviously that didn't happen.

I think I know why Paramount chose to not reveal that Wade was the main focus in a show called “Knuckles”; Shows like Kramer and Planet Sheen have proven that spin-offs starring the comic-relief don’t do so well, and that it was possible for this show to get a low attendance because of it.
As for me, I thought it sounded neat. Maybe Rouge would’ve been a good inclusion, since she’s gone undercover before, but maybe they’re saving that for the 3rd movie. Fang the Hunter could’ve been a better inclusion, since he is a bounty hunter, and Wade had a bounty on him.
I honestly thought The Buyer was gonna turn out to be Snively, from Sonic Satam/Archie, but have him be Robotnik’s brother rather than his son.
If they do decide to do another spin-off, a Tails one would be nice. Maybe the box-office numbers from the 3rd movie might give them enough of a budget to make it possible.

I mean if they *had* to go this route with Wade/Knuckles, I would have Wade's Father be renowned boxer instead of a bowler. The story can progress the same but with Knuckles teaching Wade about proper punching techniques as Wade trains and fights his way up the ranks. This explains why he's matched up with Knuckles and how Wade can actually prove himself capable in a fight with those GUN goons which can give opportunities to be genuinely useful in the group. And boxing lends itself WAY better to an underdog story than bowling of all things.

Local cop breaks alien out of prison, getting a bounty put on him and has to evaded the government to get the alien home
Yup, you nailed it! Even the final 10 minutes of the show was the same as the final fight in the first movie; Knuckles is unconscious and defeated from the big bad villain the same way Sonic was knocked unconscious and defeated from Robotnik in movie 1. Wade pops out to have his empowering speech about how Knuckles is his friend and Earth is Knuckles' new home, *literally* 1:1 identical to Tom's speech about Sonic in movie 1, and what happens??? The power of Wade's speech reawakens Knuckles with his electric red energy, and he defeats the big bad guy. The end.

In my what if here... the bad guys would come for knuckles when Wade suggests to go on a vacation. Away from training and to relax, clear his mind.
And you can have Christopher lloyd's charater tell Knuckles that he needed to learn to take a rest.
Have some stupid shit going on where the the bad guys arent just after Knuckles his power but the master emerald itself (Cause he has it!)
Have Wade be more a detective where the bad guys are, have knuckles cause problems. Have knuckles and wade be tricked by the bad guys once since they work for GUN and give the Master Emerald to the bad guys to store it away but OOPS these guys are as bad as robotnik. Have the final battle take place on a remote island base of "The Buyer" (Cause you know evil scientists love their island fortresses.) Make a spinball reference, have knuckles use the fists. Win the day. Blow up the base (cause every base needs a self destruct button)
Then Knuckles thinks he should hide the emerald on some remote island no one can reach to hint at Angel island.. THE END!
(After credits scene have Knuckles arrive on a jungle island, where he thinks he can store the emerald but insted finding a hidden cell complex. Aka prison island)
Anyway.. this show wasn't terrible, but it just didn't know what to do.

Yeah, as Johnny says, on the last 2 episodes, I forgot it was in the Sonic universe at all.
I think what saved this show for me, despite its shortcomings, was the impact that Knuckles has on Wade. The guy starts off as a buffoon at the beginning but became confident on where his true strength comes from by the end. Knuckles has always been my favorite Sonic character due to a mix of his social awkwardness (without being an edge lord) while remaining fiercely loyal to his values and those he cares about. Knuckles himself may not be there a whole lot but his ideals are certainly emulated through Wade. In a sense, I find it relatable.
I do admit I wish there was more Knuckles, but the show is often so weird and crazy that I didn't mind it on it's own right. Also Carey Elwes is a treasure.
In regards to the end slate, I think this whole Year of Shadow thing is due in large part to the third Sonic movie. With how insanely successful the movieverse is and the very clear hype for Shadow, plus his waning relevance in the series as a whole since Colors, I think they just want to use the obvious hype around their arguably most popular charactet who isn't Sonic as an opportunity for some good ol' fashion marketing.
Frankly, I don't care about this "year of this and that." Or even as far as the anniversary thing. They lost their meaning after sega said "year of Sonic" like a dozen times (2014 came in mind. Eh, memory is wack). Yeah, call me "killjoy" or whatever, but I don't care.
Shadow is one of my favorite characters, but lately Sonic Team did him kinda dirty. He's just some "vegeta wannabe" (what else to describe him) and not his usual self. The tails tube holiday episode ticked me off so much cuz of how he's represented. I'm not expecting him to be really nice, but at least be grateful.
Plus, I rolled my eyes when generations remaster has announced, this time with Shadow tacked on? My mind went, "Oh they're just cashing in with the movie. Cashgrab blokes, and more same old nostalgia trips." Even though, it's not the movie's fault or whatever. And now they expect me to care for Shadow now cuz "hurdur year?"
Probably should've cash in on him at 2021. You know, 20th anniversary of SA2 & all that jazz. Give him a new game, or hell, remaster shadow the hedgehog cuz why not.
I'm still excited for the movie, though. I won't expect much, but I'll enjoy the ride nonetheless.

Sonic did shed quills in the 1st movie, GUN was doing cleanup in the aftermath of the 2nd movie climax, so it's not a small possibility
I mean a major plot point in the first movie was that Eggman confirmed Sonic's existence because of the quill Tom picked up, and he used it to not only power his machines, but to also escape from the mushroom planet. If the Buyer worked with Eggman, then it would make sense that they would use similar methods. Knuckles did fight a lot in Green Hill, so it isn't entirely improbable that there aren't any quills he must have dropped unintentionally.
I guess it's kinda like Sonic, but he only did it twice and then just stopped. I guess it would make more sense for Sonic to be losing quills as he demonstrates that they do stick in when he bumps into the table and he used the spin attack multiple times. The quill thing is odd though.
I'm curious as to what this power stuff that Sonic and knuckles have and why people can get super abilities by touching their shedding

I'm not gonna lie, my heart dropped a bit when I saw the list of episodes and noticed that episode 4 was titled "The Flames of Disaster". Even more so when the rock opera started going into how Knuckles acquired them. I guess that was enough of a scare to improve the rest of the show in comparison (my god, I would absolutely hate it if by episode 5 or 6, Knuckles started crying and the villain of the show became the huge fire monster).
As for the actual villain of the show, I've spent most of my time thinking "wait, did they just shadow drop Snively into this universe? If so, why the fuck is he old and beefy!?"
This show has the same problem as Sonic X has where they seem to focus more on the non-Sonic characters that weren't given much depth on Sonic or his friends. And even when they do focus on Sonic and co. it was either short or just not all that interesting and just mostly go back on the non-Sonic related stuff. I know this is just the first season. Yeah i agree with you on the villains they started out strong in the first three episodes than we never see them again till the final episode. Then the buyer shoot we only see him in two episodes altogether, honestly instead of the Buyer as the big bad i would have just the two agents as the big bads. Then at the end the buyer who was trying to get Knuckles would have been revealed to be Agent Stone. We dont have to see him or anything just a voiceline or an email hinting it was him who hired the GUN agents to better build up Sonic 3. But thats just me, i enjoyed this little mini series and i can't wait for Sonic 3.
This show was below average, but I gotta be honest, this is proof that more Sonic media should have musical numbers
This is like a bad big lowbaski sequel with knuckles just there.
I loved that they Knuckles beat Iblis offscreen at some point in this continuity. I also love that the Chaos Drives from SA2 are all their strands of hair now instead of shards of the emeralds

For me, the show is the perfect representation of what ‘Mid’ is.
Not good, but not bad, it’s a meh.
There are things I enjoy, just about every fight scene with Knuckles has something about it that I can enjoy, especially the fight with Wades mother, that was a strange but glorious choice and having it be a continuous pan shot, love it.
I’m not going to pretend like I enjoy Wade more than Donut Lord, he’s a supporting cast member forced into the spotlight and if we’re going to do another of these spin-offs, can we get someone else? I feel like I’ve had enough Wade.

I never liked the first Sonic movie. Felt like a movie staring a character called Sonic. Detective Pikachu was able to capture the world and spirit of the games/anime while the Sonic movie didn’t capture Sonic. I’m not shocked this show is more of the same. I am glad kids are enjoying these movies and show.
The first episode is the peak??? I couldn't even get through that.

After Johnny brought up the Team Rocket Comparison it made me think “why didn’t they get another Sonic character to work with”, Fang would’ve been perfect cause he’s a one off character so he wouldn’t really have any clash with the 3rd movie, or Rouge would work as that bridge and to give Knuckles a rival

I thought it was just ok, I wished that it actually focused on Knuckles instead of Wade but for what I got I thought it was fine. I don’t think it’s as bad that many are building it up as.
It was kinda nice to see Knuckles with the cowboy hat again though.

I am so glad they got Ken Penders to write for episode 3.
Sonic 1 and 2 were funny enough to be enjoyed by both kids and adults like Wreck It Ralph or the Lego movie. Knuckles felt like it was written for 7 year olds.
Just cause something is viewed alot doesnt mean its good. Most people hate this show
