I’m glad that you got a good Doctor! I went to Black Female Doctor before being diagnosed with breast cancer, and she told me not to worry about it, she said “ it was apart of my rib” She was dead wrong, . I wrote her a nice letter, no bad words, but I did tell her she was wrong in her diagnosis.
It was my awesome mom that said, “ no you are going to charity hospital, my lump had grown extensively.
Praise God for An Awesome Mom and Family. I was diagnosed with breast cancer stage 2, this was 24 years ago.
The race of the person doesn’t matter, good doctors can be any race, just like bad doctors can be any race.

Hi everyone. I left in a lot of pauses that normally I edit out. I have a lot of brain fog and I just thought showing it completely gives a clearer picture. It shows why I haven’t been uploading consistently for some time. It takes so long to film and edit when your brain power is low.
But I was hoping this may help someone else with the same or similar symptoms.
It’s scary and very annoying but I’m going to figure it out….even though I’m writing this 5.5 hours after my first wave 🤦🏾‍♀️

😢I will be praying for you to find a way to get more sleep. I will be sharing this with my niece who seems to have similar symptoms. I am writing this at 4:21 am as my Mom use to say I got my days and nights mixed up. I have trouble sleeping I have insomnia due to childhood trauma which in turn caused anxiety. My niece is doing so many things like you and hope we all find the solution to this problem. Sending Hugs and Love with lots of prayers Akeeba be easy. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Hi Akeeba, please look into a Whhop watch. It will track everything for you and make suggestion for your day based on your pervious day. You can also print out the data and use it to show your doctor for a more compreshive report. It tracks sleep, recovery, strain, stress and so much more. Extremely well laid out and ease to use data. Very user friendly. It just might help you... Good luck!

My beloved Mama who was a midwife for 6 - 7yrs in the U.K. and 40 yrs in total as a R.N. had me consume barley daily throughout my first pregnancy, and when I was exclusively breastfeeding my first daughter was sleeping through the night 8 - 10hrs by ten days old. Barley contains melatonin which causes you to have a deep, restful sleep and is just as effective in adults as it is in babies. I am in no way a medical doctor but, it wouldn't hurt to try barley in your porridge, soups, stews or teas. Praying that you get some much needed sleep. God's richest blessings.🙏🏾

I literally talked to my doctor about this yesterday-the same exact prescription for two weeks! I was still in a bit of denial, but I see and hear myself so much in your story. My cognitive function is trash right now, and I always fight sleep at night. The circadian rhythm thing is a major key & made everything click just now! Thanks for sharing!

Sis I needed this video. Thank you for sharing your story. I too was THE SAME. Teaching and picking my daughter up from daycare and falling asleep behind the wheel. It got to a point where I would have to take a nap in the car before going home. I thought it was because of the work load. And here I am homeschooling and trying to build BUSINESSES clean the house cook all the meals my sleep pattern is identical to yours. But I didn’t know it could have detrimental effects, because like you I add up the intermittent hours 😅 so THANK YOU for sharing. I will be making changes IMMEDIATELY!

Akeeba, I am a teacher also. I have been through stages when the excessive work overload at work and being a team leader made me stay up after 12 at nights. I also started to fall asleep on the road on my way home from work. It got to the point when drivers were honking at me on the road. Luckily I did not have to drive on the highway. I have been through several illnesses which I have credited to my stressful life. Thank God, I am in the last few years of my teaching career. I wish you health, wealth, and wholeness in all your endeavors. You are a wonderful mom and a great teacher.

I used to be a stay at home ,homeschool mom that now works fulltime and then comes home to do housework and homeschool. If I don't fall asleep at 8pm , I won't be able to fall asleep until 5am 😢
Breastfeed then wake up at 2pm or 4pm to rush to work.
Sometimes I forget my name or what the heck I'm even doing and eating has gone out the window.
I hope you find a way to sleep im your sleep window and get full rest. Prayers Mama for both of us!

Ok this is very personal… and I haven’t even finished the video. But have you ever been in a relationship with a narcissist/abusive individual? You don’t have to answer… it’s just that your body goes into fight/flight and changes your brain makeup dramatically… and can cause memory loss and brain fog for years. I only know because I’ve experienced it. On top of severe sleep depression with 3 kids 3 and under. I am sorry. Thank you for sharing your struggles. You do a lot! Finishing the video now…

Akeeba, make an appointment with a Sleep Specialist Doctor. Have a Sleep Study. The Sleep Study will monitor your breathing, brainwaves and show how long you slept, how many times you woke up, whether you entered the various stages of sleep, whether you have Sleep Apnea. It will more precisely explain your sleep disorder. The Sleep Specialist Doctor is your next step. Good luck. I have the same Sleep problems and Daytime Sleepiness.

    • @AWanderingEye
      @AWanderingEye 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thank you for pointing this out to us. Yes, and sleep issues can evolve over time. The study can be done in your home environment, too. It doesn't necessarily mean you have sleep apnea, there are many things that can be happening here. Data will help explain it, give a more complete picture.
Some people do not breath regularly even while awake and that is a contributing factor.

Wow what a great share and reminder of the importance of REST. Quality rest. If I may, I’d like to share my own testimony in case it helps you or anyone who comes across it. I used to think I had insomnia as a child/young adult. I never talked to my doctor about it and so I was never formally diagnosed but I took the “night owl” label and hoped for good night’s rest as often as possible. After I was born again (as a young adult) I realized one day that I had been cured from insomnia. I realized that I was able to go asleep quickly, stay asleep, no longer a night owl, sleeping a full 6-8 hours. I also have scoliosis so many nights were literally hours of trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in. Super annoying and just draining. But all that disappeared when I accepted Christ. Truly not a sales pitch but is my testimony. Go to the doctor but also pray for healing. God is absolutely a healer! He healed me from insomnia and I just “happened” to realize it. He heals you from things you didn’t pray about and may not even notice immediately. Just wanted to add that as encouragement to someone out there ❤

Oh, how I wish every doctor is like yours! You even gave her an "out" by suggesting depression, but she was thorough and didn't go straight to pharmaceuticals! I hope you realize you have a prized physician!! So simple, yet, so profound. Should be the norm, but totally isn't!
God bless you on this sleep journey. I know it's not easy, especially with kids, but at least, since you are self-employed, you have a bit more freedom to try and structure a day around your circadian rhythm- a freedom that I'm trying to create for myself (working on getting out of corporate).
I wish you well and excellent health.

Yes. I can so identify with this. I am not sure how old you are but at 45 I too started having strange symptoms that were sporatic and isolated....brain fog being one of them. However, I never considered sleep deprivation being a cause as I continued burning with trying to get it all done homeschooling my 13, 11, 9 and 7 year old. Now I know that sleep, exercise and Perimenopause, menopause and now post menopause is a HUGE factor. Learn all you can about the menopausal stages (Dr. Mary Claire here on TH-cam and others) and look into all causes and connections that brain fog has. So wish we could meet I think we live in the same area. We moved from the southern part of the state a few years ago. Hope this helps and will be praying for you. You are do great and be kind to yourself🙏🏽

I have migraines and was diagnosed with chronic insomia so apart from the brain fog, i get you. I'd say this, reduce screen, leave what you can't do to the next day, you can actually sleep after your first wave but its a lot of work. Ive had every sleep pill you can imagine, i was on sleep therapy for 6 months. So when you miss your first wave, take a position your body is familiar with and just lay still. Try headspace or a listen that you're uninterested in. Wish you the best

I have a lot of difficulty sleeping, and I've learned that you have to use multiple strategies. Like, magnesium and make sure you have enough calcium and make sure you're eating healthy. A tiny amount of melatonin before bed. A bedtime ritual.
Get the list of "sleep hygiene" details from a psychology website and do most of those things.
For me, I focus on the strategy of not napping and not going back to bed if I wake up. So if I wake up at 2:00 a.m., I get up if I can't fall back asleep and I stay awake until 9:00 p.m. that day. It resets the sleep clock.
Good luck! I also used to live in Korea

Akeeba, it maybe a hormonal imbalance. Have your vitamin D levels tested and then supplement. As a black person I adjusted my vitamin D levels and sleep well
During the pandemic that regiment also provided immunity fighting properties to what was going on around us. Now I take 10k iu of Vitamin D 3. Four times a week along with Vitamin K. I'd avoid sleep aids and cold medicines to get restful sleep

You have the solution and you know it works. May be do some simple cognitive behavioral therapy could help you work through what you’re thinking and what triggers your sleep destroying behaviors. You e already realized that when you act on the thought “a little housework to night…”. The result is not feeling better. That’s an important insight. Do you keep a sleep diary? I manage my sleep better when I do. Good luck. I’m rooting for you and myself.

Try to eliminate coffee and teas high in caffeine from your diet. Eliminate known stressors of any kind one hour before bedtime. Turn off all distractors like TVs and radios. Also you may want to learn how to stimulate your vagus nerve to help you wind down right before getting into bed. I don't know if you can shift your natural sleep pattern so you may want to just go with it. My uncle goes to bed at 7pm every evening. My dad said he has been that way all his life even as a kid. He gets up ready to go by 3 am in the morning. But hey at least you can be like the army and get more done by 9am than most people get done all day :) Manipulate your world to work with your natural self. Blessings

I’m also an insomniac. I have to take trazadone at night to help with my anxiety and sleep. Sometimes it doesn’t work especially if I eat a lot of carbs at night. Some doctors may say that there’s no correlation, but for me, my body can’t wind down. You should try to eat your most carbs in to morning and very little for dinner.
What’s the problem with sleeping at 7pm and waking up at 4 am to clean the house or get some work done? Allow yourself some flexibility and some grace. You have to keep your mind functioning properly for the very people you want to be wealthy for. What good is wealth if you are (possibly) damaging your brain to get it. Trust me. You don’t want to get to the point where you are not sleeping for days at a time. Before I got help, I didn’t sleep for 3 or 4 days. I was hallucinating.

Hello @ AkeebaMaze There is always a solution with GOD and your faith! Pray and fast for healing and take daily communions. Don’t cease in believing patiently until you get the expected results. Also, I don’t know if you were baptized in the Holy Ghost and have speaking in Tongues but your sister does. Either let your Alena lays hands on you and pray in tongues or pray in tongues for you over the phone. If in person she can also anoint you with anointed oil while praying in tongues and declaring healing.🙏🏻

This is a complaint that hits home for me. Not only have I suffered from this cycle, but as a wellness coach, I see clients with this issue on a regular basis. Us women be out here doing the most! I see a lot of suggestions for melatonin, but if you are concerned about that, you can try an herbal approach. There are plenty of herbs that will help you sleep: valerian, passion flower, lavender, and chamomile all come to mind, but even adaptogens like ashwagandha can be a big help in regulating our circadian rhythms and getting those adrenal hormones back in sync. And for anyone watching who is suffering from sleep issues, you can sleep train yourself to adjust the timing of your sleep. Feeling tired at 7pm may be her natural rhythm at the moment, but there are ways to push that back little by little until you have a schedule that better suits you. Everyone has a natural rhythm, but that can be shifted within reason. Optimum sleep onset usually occurs before 11pm. Also, consider the timing of drinking water, exercise, and mental stimulation... so basically, sleep is a science, but it can be figured out lol!

Experiencing **cognitive difficulties**, such as **forgetfulness** and **mental fog**, could be indicative of various underlying factors. Here are some possibilities:
    1. **Stress and Anxiety**: High stress levels or chronic anxiety can impair memory, focus, and decision-making. When the mind is overwhelmed, it becomes challenging to think clearly.
    2. **Sleep Deprivation**: Lack of sufficient sleep affects cognitive function. Sleep is essential for memory consolidation and overall brain health. Chronic sleep deprivation can lead to forgetfulness and difficulty concentrating.
    3. **Depression**: Depression often causes cognitive symptoms, including poor concentration, forgetfulness, and a feeling of mental slowness. It affects neurotransmitters in the brain.
    4. **Nutritional Deficiencies**: Inadequate intake of essential nutrients (such as vitamin B12, folate, or omega-3 fatty acids) can impact cognitive abilities.
    5. **Hormonal Imbalance**: Thyroid dysfunction, menopause, or other hormonal imbalances can affect memory and mental clarity.
    6. **Medication Side Effects**: Certain medications may cause cognitive impairment as a side effect.
    7. **Chronic Illness or Infections**: Conditions like diabetes, autoimmune diseases, or infections can impact brain function.
    8. **Aging**: As we age, mild forgetfulness is common. However, severe memory loss may indicate a more serious issue.
    9. **Neurological Disorders**: Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, or other neurodegenerative disorders affect memory and cognitive abilities.
    10. **Substance Abuse**: Alcohol, drugs, or other substances can impair cognitive function.
If you or someone you know experiences persistent cognitive difficulties, consider seeking medical advice to identify the underlying cause and explore appropriate interventions. Remember that early detection and management are crucial for maintaining brain health.
