Sigur Ros live are a wonder. They always finish their set with this song.

the fact that their drummer plays that constant beat from 7 mins to 19 mins without taking much of a break is crazy. hes really shines alot on this track!

So glad to see someone react to Sigur Ros❤ I've been so stressed lately. Glad to be reminded of this band! Just what I needed.

This may be the first time I've ever seen a guitarist use a violin bow instead of a pick! More good music likely comes out of Iceland than a lot of us Americans will ever be aware of. The discordant sonic landscapes of the encore remind me of My Bloody Valentine out of Dublin, Ireland, but I guess there's no way of telling if they were indeed an inspiration.

yo mate...not expecting much positive support for this request so your comment is most welcome...yes there is a lot of great Icelandic music but unfortunately a lot of it is not widely accepted I think...too bad...and if you're a Led Zep fan then you have heard a bow with guitar...Jimmy Page, Whole Lotta Love....peace

These guys are incredible (live and on album). Radiohead/Pink Floyd combined into one. Thom Yorke is a big fan.

the first riff of this song - instant goose bumps! every time. I have seen them live so many times over the last 20 years, and this song is always, without a doubt - the most wonderful thing on this planet.

Correction on the language. Jónsi is not singing in Icelandic here but in "Hopelandic", which is not a language. It is a vocalisation intended to convey feeling and atmostphere, in my opinion. He uses it on all the songs on the album "( )" where this originally appeared. The name of the album is just a pair of parentheses, and none of the songs originally had names.
This Untitled #8 a.k.a. Popplagið is always the finishing number in a show. I saw Sigur Rós in 2013, and it one of the best gigs I ever saw. The other best one was (for quite different reasons) was Suzanne Vega (with bassist Mike Viseglia) in 2001.

This is probably one of the longest versions of this song. And for me that is precisely what makes it my favorite and the endless buildup makes the climax that more satisfactory (sexual innuendo intended). Maybe if the video cut back to the far camera (the one about 30 seconds in) it would make watching a bit more pleasant. Anyway, I've been obsessing over this song for years and it still gives me the goosebumps.

yo I was shocked to see this pop up....I'm glad ya liked the overall vibe and the too long comment is a valid point...but its fine if you're front row live with a right proper buzz 😁.....you should have been a diplomat my friend....Ive never heard you say "thats not my cup o' tea" about any song (although ya did come close with XTC song I requested...too much chaos...haha)....anyway thanks for giving it a shot...I suspect I'll cost you some views and coments on this mate...sorry bout that...peace
