i will say, i bought this with the hope of making my mac mini more portable. I wanted something that made it easier for me to unplug it and take it on the go since i travel with it a lot and move it between my office upstairs and music space downstairs. This product sort of does that, but i still have to plug plenty of things into the back between two screens and ethernet. I wish there were a more obvious choice of an all-in-one hub for my mac mini so i can unplug everything at once and take it on the go

I've got this exact dock and do exactly what you are describing, I have a second different dock under my desk out of sight which has 12 ports including HDMI and audio jack, ethernet etc, I plug all my desk cables into this hidden dock, and I then plug the dock in this review into that and the single cable that comes from the 12 port dock is the only one I plug into my mac mini. I use my mac mini in the office too so I have a case and carry it between home and office instead of a laptop and have a dual monitor setup in both places, one uses thunderbolt and the other HDMI.
This means when I get home I have just threee cables to connect to the mac mini, a power lead, a single HDMI and the thunderbolt cable that leads to the 12 port dock, once I connect these I am instantly hardwired to gig ethernet, dual monitor, desktop speakers and other external hard drives which I use for time machine and extra storage, I use just the entry level M2 and it also runs as a plex server which streams my whole movie collection from a cheap synology NAS box down in my garage, I love these mac's and the silent working conditions they provide.
My main storage is an external 2tb SSD and I have a cable permanently plugged into the 12 port hub under the desk for this and another cable in my travel bag to hook up to it at work, it just works..

Apple wants 400 USD for 16gb of ram.
Amazon charges 30 USD for 16gb of ram.

It's cool looking, but the USB ports are only 5 GB/s. No Thunderbolt Ports. The USB's should at least be version 3.2, or better at 3.2x2. Old tech. I'd stay away.
