- I decided to jump into some Race C to have a look at improving my tyre wear and also checking out different cars... oh my word what I was witness to was some of the worst driving I've seen in awhile.... Another REPORT incoming..

Need a refinement of the penalty system. The barrier collision penalty is like 5 seconds on this track and people are taking advantage of that just smashing you aside knowing the victim gets punished and no repercussions for the offender. A steward AI system would be my dream update, kinda like Sophy
Agree, it's wrecking any progress you think you are making on the pack. I don't qualify as I like going from the back but I am starting to think I need to qualify to at least avoid the idiots!

That's exactly what is happening with some people using it as a strategy. Watkins in a long enough race to drive flawlessly in a top split lobby and then it happens. It's just stupid !
Never managed to go past B.. just as drivers are ridiculous in C.. no idea why and what it is like in B and A but penalty systèmes should indeed be completely revised. And the worst thing is that it pushes you not to be very fair-play as you know some won’t be and you will constantly be pushed out (talking for myself). Fu by as sonnant people are complaining about all sorts related to cars and tracks etc etc but I definitely feel the far worst thing is the total lack of sportsmanship and the amount of total twts who drive with zero respect and clue on what they should and should not do either.
I find driving standards decreased since two weeks and Daily C at Deep Forest. Most of races I've done in A+ lobbys were not clean. A lot of dive bomb when you already started to turn. No precautions in terms of braking by following car. 50% of chances to take turn or finish in sand when you're side by side. The worst was the first hairpin at Brands Hatch after standing start. I am the first to make mistakes sometimes, but my feeling is that respect on track has been degraded, and not only since this week. I love this game, but for two weeks, I admit being particularly frustrated.
That is why sophy is really important 😊i gave up on sportmode more than a year ago .i do lobbies now.and i like that a lot more.
I said this on the forums as well but a system where I am punished LESS for sending someone off track and into the barrier than the person I hit into the barrier is an asinine system. GT7 isn't good enough of a game to put up with that kind of driving and that poorly stewarded penalty system.
its been shocking for ages. Iv hardly played online for over a month. Theres no penalty risk for dirty drivers. They punt you off,,, you get damage and a penalty.
Race C is a 5 second pen for crashing .. so you get hit off, crash, recover, damaged car and 5 second pen...
Gt7 shines in offline races with boost on low, or in multi-player lobbies hosted by actual players.
Even in iracing I've experienced plenty dirty driving but it's nothing like gt7, as long as gt7 is a console game you will always have to deal with a larger group of immature people who could care less about racing clean.
Gt7 will never be a clean racing game no matter what they do to the penalty system.

These people can't race when they purposely hit you off the track, they hating you can drive better than them so they resort to forza you off the road

The most frustrating thing at the moment is the people who drive like AI and completely ignore your presence on the circuit
VR has huge blindspots and no warning on the hud. Yes you can use radar but you need to look out of your way at it. Maybe that's why
@@jeffbarnard348 It's 3D sound, you can hear the car revving in your blind spot. You should also be aware of relative car placements before you head into a corner.

And the driving standards thing, it's not just online, it's NASCAR, it's F1, it's like certain bad behaviors and instincts have bled into the larger consciousness.
V8 Supercars in Australia is the same, drivers always dive bombing and not giving any room on exit.

I quite like the new physics, but I'm having to learn to treat corners very differently again - the resulting tyre wear is terrible for me atm. Being on a controller is already a disadvantage, but suspect that the current settings are deliberately designed to favour wheel users.
This race is fun, but using a controller is a major disadvantage.
I was contesting a victory until 3 laps remained when my tires dropped off.
Dropped back to midfield, then got taken out by midfielder.
Hit barriers 10 second penalty, then came dead last.
Should have had a pit stop or only x3 tire wear or below.
There's little reason to do this combo in class A or above as every wheel user will be at a significant advantage
With a practically non-existent penalty system in place, everyone is driving half pissed-off with their elbows out. Every bump is seen as an attempted shunt and any accidental late brake is treated as a dive bomb. Everyone has hit their limits with this system and they're tired of giving anyone the benefit of the doubt.
Gotta agree with most comments. If they (PD) would just set a damage model to realistic and permanent for duration of the race, unless one pits to repair. Would, in turn, reduce the volume and frequency of dirty driving. Another idea has the game put drivers suspected of being dirty in a lobby with other dirty drivers
I am A rated, was A+ for a brief moment. Back to A in my latest experience people try so hard so ascend from A to A+ that they throw any standards of board to achieve that.
You can anticipate a lot of dirty driving but sometimes it’s really frustrating. Same last week with Dragon trail and your favorite corner.

I hated graduating from b to a. The races were dirtier and it was the subtle dirty. They would go the whole race clean then pit you on the final lap. Things like that. They knew how to manipulate the penalty system in their favor. B -c lobbies have more collisions but it's bad driving with most people apologizing or giving spots back. A lobbies are mediocre sweats cheating for p10.
@21:03 “that’s a very fast indicator” indicators are wired so that when one bulb is out, the other one flashes at twice the rate. The display on your dash flashes double time too. It’s a mechanism to let you know you need to replace a bulb. Note this guy had damage on one side of his car. If PD but logic in the game to double time the indicator bc of damage that is BRILLIANT.
I’ve said this more than once, people see the TCR tag, and know they can hit you, but if you even tap then they complain, and send in reports
That's sort of the point. Tidgney is trying to promote a higher standard than most players. In the current penalty system, it's like choosing to be a pacifist in a bar fight. Kudos to all of you that stick to it.
How does one report a driver? I’ve looked in the past but never found how to do it.
@@adamharvey9626 On the summary screen at the end of the race, Select the Driver. Choose to look at their GT profile. Their profile screen will look normal, but if you click the options tab you'll see an additional option to Report them. Once you click it you'll see various criteria to report them under. Surprisingly, poor racecraft is not one of them. However, harassment is. So if you confront them after a race and then insult you, Report them and PD will see their chat log after the race.

I’ve had similar from ‘two beers’ / ‘Petro L Head’. What an idiot. You can excuse the odd mistake, everyone makes one, but two beers falls into the category of ‘intentional idiot’ 😂
I heard that iracing is going to implement a virtual garage where you need to use in-game currency to fix damage?? Saw that news on race department. People might be less willing to make crazy moves if their $$ is on the line but online racing will always be kinda crazy.
That sounds god awful. What if someone bins you off and you take massive damage? Takes iracings wallet emptying nature to a ridiculous and anti consumer degree.

Also keep in mind VR divers have no proximity Radar (and a nasty blind-spots at times), no weather radar, no tyre wear indicators and no rev limiter (you must use the one on the dash). Not so much of a disadvantage, as more of an inconvenience, but it can make you unaware of whats around you at times. freakishly fun and a huge adrenaline rush though. And you can be very competitive in VR too.
That's a point! Some cars also have terrible RPM info. But at least I feel like I have more control on VR.

Everyday experience, unless contact pens return this is how it will remain, some people struggle and are overwhelmed by their need to overtake the car infront. Never once to consider just how that will affect the race not only of the person/s directly involved but to themselves also; aswell as their reputation. 😔

This wall penalty system is the most absurd ever. Who decided this?! Temporary damage that slow you down, penalty that slow you down and the fact of hurting the wall in itself his slowing you down. It take away so much of the fun.

It's worse in A lobbies lol, in low lobbies they just punt you all game, in A lobbies they wait till the last lap and everybody just goes full dirty driver, especially thekie25, he's got to be the dirtiest driver in the game.

I started playing this game 2 months ago. As I climb the ranks, I notice the amount of dirty drivers actually increases. Happens almost every race in A class. It’s either that or, the last 2 months have just been a downward spiral and nobody cares anymore.
A lobbies are definately the dirtiest. Less overall collisions than lower lobbies but the higher level lobbies know hot to manipulate the penalty system. And I see this a ton. I will be raced clean until the final lap where they get side by side and pit me for no penalty because the contact was on the side
I do agree with this what tends to happen is the higher up you go the better the racer they think they are and will always think they are faster than the car ahead. Its only at the very top does that philosphy change somewhat.
Sadly this is the current standard for most lobbies these days. Back in the pack and people view most overtakes as an assault on them personally. PD needs to bring back penalties and quickly. This is becoming a total farce.
I think a Daily races should have damage set to heavy. Then if anyone gets damage, they either have to pit to repair or stay with the damage for the whole race.
Absolutely, I think it would eliminate the huge dirty drivers' problem within the game suffers from in the Sports Mode
@@jamesiversen5969 our racing team have entered GTfusiOn this year and that has heavy damage. I'd not seen it before in game. It really does hamper you until you repair it. You either have to put up with it or pit to repair, hopefully when you need tyres and fuel. It's usually around an extra 3 seconds in pit.
The problem is we have had heavy damage in the world series events before and it turned into total carnage where innocent parties still ended up at the back from absolutely insane damage. It doesn't stop someone sending you into a wall :(.
I’ve been milking the hell out of the Supra to go sub 1:50 on this course and you’re doing it with ease consistently . I only did it twice 🤦🏾♂️

Well there is this one aspect speaking for myself, Ive never struggled so hard to drive the cars in GT until I played this game, the update did help, but its still way OTT, just for a controller player like me, the intentional ruining of other peoples races is still not acceptable, I dont recall Sport being like this, unless they disabled penalties then it was just chaos but yea, is it a sim or a simcade? I dont know. But I dont play multiplayer anymore because I crash every lap and I dont wanna ruin anyones race with mistakes, or embarrass myself.
Everyone makes mistakes, i would rather crash myself than intentionally ruin others races. Mistakes happen tho, its human.
Had a couple goes at this track. 5 second barrier collusion penalty is great when you've been stuffed into it by someone who doesn't get a penalty. Race b in the group 4 is great though

This is why I prefer IRacing. At least when you get punted there, you can file a protest and they will be suspended if deemed intentional. I tried to race Watkins glen yesterday, but if you qualify on the pole, you’ll most likely get punted on turn-in entering turn 1 or used as a brake pad entering the bus-stop. It’s just not fun anymore. Gt7vr2 is amazing, but the level of driving truly ruins the experience most of the time 😞🤦🏼♂️
its got to the stage that im thinking of selling my rig with the game. its unenjoyable at the moment you cant get past the 1st lap and im so angry i quit most races now
I “met” Diegoman on a D/B Rated lobby yesterday, accidentally tapped his rear left quarter so let off for him to carry on and then had a run on him for the short cut on Nurburgring Sprint course and he deliberately pit manoeuvred me quite a way from the corner, spinning me out and putting me in the barriers and into last place, I managed to catch up to 10th (from 15) but was really annoyed by him that I very nearly rage quit.
I just started playing online after avoiding since launch. Def hit or miss on if you can get out front of the rammers.
So funny that the Lexus is slow in the IMSA livery of a very competitive Lexus GT3 car irl.

I don't think us plebs have the option. We used to be able to on GT Sport....for all the good it did.

I've given up with daily racing. My DR is dead after the last couple of weeks. I'm not enjoying it at all currently.

Really notice in vr the ghosting is now way over powered so drivers are just ignoring other drivers its a mess at the moment in the dailys 😢
How do we file a report? Could do one for almost every race I am in. I thought that "Blocking" the person then triggered a reason, but no. Still a warning to me if a car shows no name in another. Thanks for all the tips and moral outrage. You epitomize the TCR philosophy
Would like to know how to report bad driving, too. There really needs to be some form of repercussion for intentional ramming, especially in Nations/Manufacturers Cups. I'm sick of getting punted and then being the one who gets the penalty, ruins the game.
In terms of reporting I have access to a feedback group so I only report exceptionally bad driving / purposeful punts. I'll be demonstrating this sort of thing in the future and I hope to be able to come up with something that will help everyone.

Driving standard are getting worse, this is what you get with a stupid penalty system and ghosting. Let damage be higher and put pit stop in place for repairs
The 18 Ford GT does ok here just not ok enough to beat the 8 out of 10 Japanese cars who have more hp and acceleration than every other manu. I think Barry is becoming upset at the sudden abrupt and violent dinner dates he's been pulled into recently :D

About Boomer: at 8:34 your "car right" warning switches on (semicircles to the right of the gear indicator). So Boomer has a similar "car left" warning on his HUD. At 8:35, it switches off again, telling Boomer he's clear of traffic. He has every right to use the full width of the track there. It also tells you you don't have the right to that outside line anymore. At 8:37 the warning switches back on, but then it's you going for a gap which no longer exists. In my opinion Boomer did nothing wrong there.

Why would any driver think they should be given space for having an inch of front bumper alongside. You need to back out so you don’t get taken out.
Honestly the driving standards just went lacking with how races are done, they have generally lacked strat across the board, it's all the same, rare to be anything more than no or 1 stop, the general bop situation, obviously gr supra now with its top end making it worse but even prior bop with ridiculous 911 rsr acceleration, some leaderboard cars like MR's with people not being able to control taking people out, or something some people may not think of, people not knowing certain elements in the game, if you are new, you won't know dirty tires are a thing, how wind and just general track condition affect the driving experience and so on, there's literally 0 guide or tips in this game to know that all, how it works and so on. The terrible barrier pensystem that does not help anyone, the same for damage, innocent party having their race ruined, clearly doesn't work in a gt race experience. Short races(then again with current state of gt, was clear the long spa race didn't work). General gap in top split daily races in terms of skill, with some quicker possibly recovering or just starting from back making for a mess. Dirty air and so on. I'll say that the collision pensystem(not track or wall pen) is in an acceptable place, won't be perfect, but it's workable. Think that the way just horrific driving gets handled doesn't help though, we all know the infamous, the lack of act upon it doesn't help in the slightest.

Yeah the standards for have gone down for me ( this is coming from someone who has only got to Mid B in DR rating tho)
It's usally people going for massive dives from about 4 days away/ going for a gap that isnt there and turning into me like in not there ( while im along side) or getting deliberately pit manoeuvred.
But then again, this is all coming from a not very good - salty play, so take all i say with a grain of 🤔.... salt 😉

What grinds my gears is when I manage to pass inside on low speed turns, yes there is a little bump and chunk, but nobody get sent into el barrier. Then the person I passed zero brake dive bombs me into the very next turn. People like that really are morons.
I stopped gt7 to play ACC on LFM...never looked back! At least there drivers get proper penalties.
Driving standards are, generally, appalling now, I’m only a B rated driver and it’s as if you can’t have a clean race anymore. Barrier penalties are ludicrous, you have already lost time and got damage, I know they are trying to stop wall riding but the damage model should do that. To get a barrier penalty when you have been punted or pushed and the person driving dirty (or poorly) gets nothing is ridiculous, plus, to get a penalty if you hit someone who brake checks you is also barmey, there must be an algorithm that can tell if people have braked hard outside a braking zone that should be applied. Overall, the penalty system and the appalling driving it allows is taking the fun out of GT7….

I personally try not to complain too much about online play cuz I do feel dirty drivers are just part of the game. Like with every other multiplayer game, people will abuse the limits or strictly only use the meta. However I do find it very shocking by how many people that are A or A+ DR with S SR that are just disgusting drivers. I struggle to even get to B DR just cuz alot people dont wanna race respectfully. I do have S SR and pretty much have had S since I started playing the game but my race placements tend to suffer cuz I try to keep it at S. If I do play online now, it's almost strictly with friends or people who are just respectful in the normal lobbies, which has been VASTLY more fun than anything I've done in sport mode.
I guess to implement some form of change to the penalty system is if they made it to where they banned you from racing for "×" hours or so if you griefed a previous lobby. While not exactly an end all be all solution I do feel like having to wait say like 3 or 4 hours to grief another lobby would make it less appealing to trolls.
I completely agree the current standard are slipping way to much. The penalty system is flawed as the punters ( punters being the one doing the hitting) get away with to much. Would love to now how to report these idiots as the game is becoming toxic on daily races …… HELP!
Reporting ppl is not the answet, it gets abused, im living proof. PD needs to police their game better..

When racers have a complete disregard to the racing etiquette and take it upon them selves to deliberately take players out for no reason other than to benefit them selfs is disgusting. They should be banned infidelity for there actions. These actions are making GT7 toxic and unplayable at times

Instead of having daily race A as No DR/SR, surely they could experiment and have daily A as a strictly no contact race (which most motorsports are) with DQs. The penalty system is absolute nonsense and the standard of driving in most B lobbies is a joke. I would much rather have a race where by if I made contact I get a DQ over the current system of stupid penalties for going off track and gaining no time or getting obliterated and the offender only getting 5 seconds. (The crimes are not equalling the times, it takes more than 5 seconds for the victim to get back on bloody track most of the time) I know people will argue that " what if its accidental " but you are still at fault and there would still be 2 other daily races if you didn't like it.
Its a shame really as with the implementation of VR and the latest update the game is in a great state apart from the aforementioned. If the penalties for contact where way more harsh, you'd have take your medicine, learn from it and think twice the next time your on track. end of!
Yeah I've noticed it being really bad at the moment too, I think races without a pitstop tend to be worse as you're going to have to pass people on track rather than undercutting them. I also think PSVR 2 has had some effect on it too, and I say this as someone who uses VR all the time now. I've been hit so many times now by someone deciding to go for a late dive up the inside who I've simply not seen (you can only check your mirrors so many times) and you make the comment about using your radar in the vid - in 2D thats an easy glance down but in VR it's away to one side so you just can't check it as much.
When you do sport mode, try not to have S rank safety 👍🏻 its the dirtiest rank

They need to give longer penalties for touching other cars an less for offtrack an barrier. I can barely get a good race. 5sec penalty lastnight for getting rear ended into the barrier, yeah no thanks.

The problem w this game is that its very arcadeish, it teaches casuals that passing is super important (all single player content is a chase). As a A+ driver, ive stopped being competitive and allowed dr/sr to drop to B by racing from the back. Its alot of fun but everyone takes getting passed as a personal attack rr sum chit and just trys to take me out.. everyone is starting to realize how easy it is to punish anyone in or out of turns.. its sad, really. PD needs to really rethink its entire pen system. I think permanent damage is the way along w severe pens for wrecking others. I know this will be harsh for noobs, but.. idk?

When going through the comments, I suddenly feel lucky to be just a low B driver! The B-S lobbys are fair most times. When there are contacts, it's because they are unaware of me, very seldom it's intentional.
Tbh I kinda got frustrated with the driving standards and just bought iRacing instead. Having much more fun

Isn't it last man standing (or last car driving) in GT7? PD seems to reward dirty drivers, and don't even think about hurting their best friend Barry R. because they'll punish you with a penalty!

In the real world mate you know you wouldn't hold some of those lines especially if you bend it you buy it. So whilst the one in the first race could have given you room, self preservation and cost wouldn't of put yourself there. This is why gaming is hard, no real consequences.
Everything I do in the game I would do in real life or have done in real life (More would than have and then that depends more on the move in question).
Gt7 is falling apart. I've been shunted off so many times and getting penalties because I end up in the old Barry R. Close to abandoning it and going back to GT sport.
Watched an iracing video recently and couldn’t believe how close they were racing and how clean they kept things. I suspect it’s bc nobody is using a controller in iracing. Would love to see wheel-only lobbies in GT7. Would rather not have a PC in my house (I’m a Mac/Linux guy)
Controller argument is garbage. I race clean on a controller as well as several top drivers. The driving standards are so low because there are no repercussions to driving like a pithed frog now. Slamming someone into the wall gives them a penalty and you maybe nothing.
I'm a controller driver and have had plenty of drivers assume I was on a wheel as I'm able to drive smooth and clean. Input method isn't the issue, it's the lack of conscience from the meathead in the chair that's the problem.

@@mid-packhack8130 I’m not saying it’s impossible to be fast or clean on a controller. But it’s definitely harder and more rare. You put 10 controller guys in a race and maybe 2 of them can avoid hitting you. Maybe 1 can drive a straight line without wiggling down the track.

There’s also the difference in commitment and mentality. Some guys might really want a good race but I think the “watch the world burn” crowd is more likely to be on controller. It costs them so little to just switch from fortnite for a few minutes and wreck (pun) everything. A guy on iracing has invested so much time and money trying to recreate a realistic experience. That guy is more likely to strive for an authentic experience. I spent 9 hours on my hands and knees assembling an 80/20 rig. I want to race as clean. Sure some controller users do too buy how many teens want to just grab their controller and blow stuff up? Seems like a lot.
@@sportbikejesus6297 i understand your point of view as having several wheels, but i learned on a controller far before i could afford em. I must point out tho, if yer trash on a wheel or a controller, its all on you.. i prefer a controller personally.

They had one on GT Sport and it was pretty much pointless. Polyphony simply doesn't seem to care as long as they have a lot of players.
I got reported by 3 salty mfrs in sport, and received a 72hr ban. It worked for them lol i didnt do anything but say haha in chat, for real.. 72hr ban

Dirty NASCAR held 3 full rooms. CAT & MOUSE was always full. EVEN though the OLD man wants multiple more $$$ for his "BABY" he gave me 3 CARtoons a 100k and thanked me for PRE-ORDERING.

Copy Iracing, hit both or multiple drivers with penaltys for avoidable contact, have a total you get DQ'd at.
Right now aggressive unsportsmanship driving is rewarded....
Me being a spazzy driver from time to time, I get tires in the grass spin out hit the wall, I get a 1.5 barrier pen, probably a off track, so another .5 to 1 sec pen, get un ghosted in a bad spor get rear ended and another Barrier hit.......
Meanwhile.... Aggressive punter/pit maneuver specialist run thru the field to a podium finish..... ugghhh
It shows just how much the driving standards have dropped, when you get your best result in the highest ranked lobby. I’ve given up using my main account through the week. Not because I’ll lose my ranking. ( which I would) but because I just find it frustrating, depressing and not enjoyable anymore. Personally, I think that PD made a BIG mistake by letting kimi get away with his antics for so long. They are ruining the games credibility in sim racing. I mean… some petrol sniffing moron can get away with taking out a multiple World Tour driver for no reason 🤷♂️

In this video they drive good compared to what I experienced 2 days ago in the Daily Races. Afwull behavior. I saved it. I'll post it later.
Just gotten worse. Nothing about the update made racing any better.
