I got his autograph at the old Detroit Olympia when he played for the Leafs. He signed his name the same way it appears on his coffee cups They say in those days, he would scout every city Toronto played in for locations to put his stores. They told him to quit playing hockey and enjoy running his business. He said not to worry, he had plenty of time left to do that.

I was in a Tim Horton's, in Dubai, and asked the people working at the counter if they knew who Tim was, and they told me it was part of their training, and took a class to learn about him. I thought that was incredible!

Awesome video. I've been looking for a video that actually showed Tim's Detomaso Pantera after the crash. I wish that I had a picture of Tim beside the car and before the crash. I live about 15 minutes away from where Tim was killed. RIP Tim

@@josephforest7605 an ISSUE? Horton was shitfaced. He was driving so fast he probably wasn't even aware he was being chased, until the end. He crashed because he was drunk. You think I was glossing over the fact he was drunk? I said _nothing about_ what made him crash. I stated three facts regarding what the result of his crash while drunk driving was.

0:24 “I think anybody that is 45 and younger, has no idea who Tim Horton the hockey player is”
Did I hear that right? I actually feel personally insulted hearing that as a kid who grew up in Hamilton as a diehard Leafs fan since 10 years old, visiting the first ever location to open up in Hamilton countless times, and now living in St. Catharines just 1 exit before the spot of his fatal crash and a 5 min drive from the old St. Catharines General where he was taken. I’m sure as a little kid while sitting in the shop at least once of the hundreds of times I went, I thought just once, “who is Tim Horton that this place is named after?” And then asking my parents or grama, seeing as this guy must be pretty important. I’m sure majority of kids have this question cross their mind at least once as a kid like come on. And I’m only 30, now this guy is saying 45 and under?!?!! I hope he just phrased it wrong because he can’t be that ignorant to believe of Canadians 45 and under, that no one knows who he is. Come on dude

I've only been to St. Cats once, way back in 1970! 3 of us 'hippies' thumbing from Vancouver to Toronto, then to the Falls. A dude picked us up in a VW Bug and gave us a HUGE baggie of home grown! I remember driving over that long bridge in Hamilton! We had a great time at the Falls!

@@mr.blackhawk142 lol Burlington Skyway. It takes you from North side Lake Ontario in Burlington to the South side in Hamilton right at the end of the lake before the harbour. That’s a childhood pastime going over that probably 1000 times and still always get that nervous / panic feeling every single time when about to go up. But now I’m right before the Falls in St. Catharines

I think the man was punished as much as is possible for his stupidity, but the days of hockey players being toothless uneducated jocks is over. About 50% of NHL players have degrees, even enforcers like the retired John Scott, who pursued his education even though his athletic career sidetracked him, earning an ME degree while a pro. It does you no credit to heap abuse on the dead.

MR Blutarsky, Police used radio and coordinated their joint effort to get him and they did exactly what they set out to do . There was a road block set into place and because of that blockage it resulted in Mr Horton loosing control at a high speed, period . Because the decision that ended Mr Horton's life was due to that very roadblock, it was quickly decided to make sure that part of that terrible night could not be what was going to be made public in any of the final reports submitted . Everything from that night forward is all people would ever know . With the exception of a very small set people ofcourse but ? My father was one of them. He was a hard working truck driver trying to raise 6 kids and pay a mortgage back in those years for a Company called Smith Transport. We had family relatives and friends in Hamilton, Stoney Creek and St Catherine's as well as Burlington, Port Credit and Toronto. For the sake of not going on and on with my reply Mr Blutarsky, let me just finish up in saying that you may be right for some part of your comment but certainly not when it comes to the last part in your second comment. He may have known they were in on a chase for a wee while but while at an increased speed held for a stretch he would have the mindset that he lost them or that they gave up chase just like different other nights and the things that had happened in the past times but the saddest part is, it was not what was behind him that he would have any concern with . It was what was laying in wait a short distance ahead on that dead dark road of night . They changed the game on him !

Shame @!!!! Why isn't it mention through the growth the True concept of family was lost. Tim hortons grandchildten not being able to play because of financial difficulty... wtf is wrong here ? Shame on the money hungry society. Then when society and government shun the concept of the hells angels... when a full member loses his life, whatever the circumstances...the family is taken care of. Hmmmm
