I grew up there, left after high school. I was in the running for this program while making $150k as a remote worker but they didn’t choose me because they wanted people with a heavy social media presence. The people who beat me out are all over Instagram, TikTok, etc. that crap isn’t my thing.
Rather than stupidity like this, why not have halfway decent paying jobs so people can get out of poverty? That's the reason the population has dramatically decreased. As a lifelong resident of 38 years I urge you to think twice before moving to this place. If I had the financial means me and my family would have been gone long ago.

Charleston is way smaller than Boston. construction is everywhere you never know if you will have to move out if the apartment building is sold off for renovation or replace with a new. many of the old public housing is being torn down to build new modern versions. even the worst neighborhoods are getting redeveloped and cleaned up. etc. traffic can be ridiculous. all kinds of stuff for a small state and new England is connected to one another.

I lived in the northern panhandle the first 22 years of my life. It's a beautiful state with the nicest, most hard-working people you'll ever meet. It broke my heat to leave. But there's nothing there for you if you don't have an inside route to the mines or chemical plants or if you don't have land for the companies to drill on.

The legislature is mostly Trump Republicans and has tried to pass legislation to be able to override decisions made by the State Supreme Court. "Crooked as a dog''s hind leg" as the saying goes.
