I am from Timor-Leste (an Island close to Australia). I used to go to West Virginia University (class 2019). Seeing this makes me missing Motown and WVU. Great video!
DO NOT move to Morgantown.... It's an open sewer pit.... The junkies outnumber the tax payers & nothing is changing for the better.... Education for children is trash & we are one of the poorest (if not the poorest) states in the nation..

Absolutely! That’s exciting to hear! Personally, i think West Virginia does have many similarities to Washington state in that the weather is fairly mild but very rainy. The pace is a bit slower because there aren’t as many big cities. Being originally from Denver, it was a big adjustment when we first moved out here but we’ve come to adore the area and I’d definitely recommend it! Happy to help you look for a place if you choose to make it your retirement destination 🙌

Hi! Congratulations and welcome to Morgantown! If you already have a living situation organized then first thing I would recommend doing after you move is check out the whole area by car (either with a rental car, buy a car, or get a ride from someone) just to see the whole area - it was so beneficial to me when I first moved year to drive around and understand the difference parts of morgantown and also come to see how many hills there are and it’s layout. Coopers Rock state park is a beautiful place if you’re looking for some cool photos to send back to your family about your new area! It has beautiful canyon views! Hope this helps!

I thought Charlestown WV had WV college campus?
I lived in Morgantown since the early 1970's & I've seen it evolve over the decades. It is not the humble city I grew up in and enjoyed as a teenager, after the 1990's development outpaced the roads and infrastructure. Dense wooded areas have been replaced by urban development & student housing. And downtown?, don't walk the street after dark unless you have some friends with you. I'm moving as soon as soon as possible and not looking back.
I have herd they have an art scene there..i was thinking about retireing there.

Have always wanted to move here. Can you live here without a car? Like just using bus and that rail to get to work? If you have time to answer, that would be great. Looks like a cool college town! WV is under rated, for sure!

Drive safe, people here run red lights? How about obey the traffic lights so we don't have to drive on egg shells. That's like saying watch out for drunk drivers. No... don't drink and drive! Don't give people like that a pass.

It's a college town with 30,000 students. College towns are ALWAYS dead during the day like this. Everyone is in class. Just saying. I've seen videos of night life here...kids get lit after 6 or 7....Morgantown is a big party school.
Are there owner financing deals available?
I visited Morgantown when my Grandson was born in April. I found the streets to be very poor, narrow and confusing. People honked at me for not going through the light when I had no idea where I could turn. I was always afraid that I would either drive off of the road or get hit for driving too slowly. It was odd to see the Stadium right across the street from the Children's Hospital. And when I attempted to venture out to Walmart, the roads were riddled with potholes and felt very unsafe. I am from Ohio where it is flat. I could never imagine living in an area with so many hills and trees. I am sure it is a very beautiful place for many people, but it is not for me.
And the Real Estate agent is hot. Just wanted to say that. That would be the only reason to move there.
