Guys, just got mine today and spent 3 hours compared with Go Play 2 which I really love and thought there is nothing in this world could be better (portable bluetooth). I red every possible review and watched every video about 3rd version before purchase and 99% of the guys told that the 2nd one is better in every way, that the bass on the 3rd is too much and bla bla bla. Come on! I'm not an average music guy, music is a lot for me, I have a bunch of professional headphones, DAC's, tube amps, built a really hi-fi stereo system with a very expensive components to listen to vinyl in a highest possible quality and I know how music should sound right. Go Play 3 is my new fav speaker! That's it!
@@DominikReviews just give it some space, do not put it right in front of the wall or corner. The same rule with the professional acoustics, especially with the rear ports. Give it some freedom, it has freaking subwoofer on the bottom!
From this comparison here's what I observed. The Go plus play 3 pretty much corrected the flaws in the Go plus play 2 but it did trade off a decent amount of upper bass and mids in exchange. But the Go plus play 3 would pretty much fix it and bigger rooms but it can be too much for some people. I just have to hear in person. hopefully Christmas I can get it if its out for the USA fantastic sound comparison by the way but a sound test outside will be appreciated
Ate the 5:58 minute we can perceive a very high frequency of highs on older Go Play; and at 6:04 minute we can perceive the same highs frequencie on the newest Go Play, but playing way more bright and sharp, with more harmonics. This is good. I just think that know the Go Play 3 is missing some mid frequencies, but it has more subbass and highs (V shaped).
Each one has their own sound, I have Beolit and they sound B&O which is "sophisticated". I had the Harman Kardon Go + Play 2 (Mini) and I listened to the Harman Kardon Go + Play 3. In the test you can clearly see what each one does, but before putting adjectives or better or worse, I think they could be differentiated by the music they play better. The Harman Go + Play 2 has more "punch" and "mids". Trying Takuya Kuroda or José James I was really amazed by the sound. I think that Harman Go + Play 2 is absolutely recommended for Jazz, theHarman Go + Play 3 which is now priced lower than the 2, I hear it clearer overall because there are fatter bass, less mids and treble. It seems more balanced but the mid frequencies are not there. Just an opinion.
Actually, go2's bass is facing in front of the recording mic while go3's is facing down. So when listening, you will feel that Go3 has weaker bass. In fact, not at all
You do know the Go plus play 3 has 2 passive radiators in the front and back in addition to the down-firing woffer. The Go plus play 2 has stronger upper bass abd the 3 has stronger midbass
What i can tell Go Play 2 = more mids, clear high end and a good clean and stiff bass Go Play 3 more v shaped More deeper bass, and maybe a bit more upper treble I love the overall sound of my 2nd generation The bass is amazing and it sounds very clear If i need to upgrade? I don't think so Btw some of the tracks Oluf used often in his older Videos Can you tell me how the names are? Oluv never answered
Today I got my go3's. I dont know what I should think about right now. The bass is really good, but the highs are little too sharp for my taste. Its not a smooth listening on some tracks over longer time. I wish bit more mids for vocals to "free the voice of the speaker" and a bit less highs. I mean its not bad sounding to make this sure, but not perfect. I testet today against my tribit blast with Alans "neutral" tuning.(thanks Alan!) Some tracks are better with tribit some with go3. The go3 sounds more authentic sometimes, sometimes too much on the bright side. The tribit is warmer sounding but less exciting somehow. I will test against my go2 soon. One of my best sounding speakers is still partybox 310, but its another category.
Great comparison! And good songs choosen. The go3 sounds more open with better bass. EDIT: did you regognized something of the sound adjustent of the go3?
yep i notice something, in bigger rooms it boost mid and upper bass to much for me, in smaller rooms its trying to play more deep bass than upper and mid bass
@@DominikReviews Is it true that it dynamically adjusts the sound according to its environment? Have you tried it outdoors? Maybe by starting it outside and then bringing it into the room? It would be interesting ...
@@DominikReviews Hm interesting. Did you do max db comparison and also Teufels usually are with different eq settings. Unlike the JBLs and HKs bath tube eq setting, the Teufels are more balanced.
My beloved Go+Play2 fell off of my kitchen counter and the shell cracked (I was gutted). Luckily I had damage cover so I got the money back and bought the Go+Play3. The beat way to describe the sound on the 3 in comparison to the 2 is bigger, heavier (bass wise), but there's definitely less clarity, and brightness in the 3 compared to the 2. None of them are a bad purchase. Both are top notch bluetooth speakers.
If go play 2 is at power supply and go play 3 at battery i can say that go play 3 is slightly louder. On go play 3 difference between battery and mains is 1db
@@DominikReviews ah, 😁 i only ask because for me the difference is quite big but i dont hear anyone mention this, just making sure i didnt mess my testing up 🙃
The go+play 3 has too much bass: it overpowers the rest of the frequencies and the sound is therefore unbalanced and too pumped up. Like injected with steroids. A pity since I bought the go +play previously for its hifi clean and accurate sound. I thought this new update would be even better but unfortunately not.

Obviously a step up. Smoother sound with less compression in bass at higher Volumens at the 3. Sadly the battery still will ne to bad for outdoors..

How about the sound effect of watching movies in Harman Kardon Go+play3? For example: Dolby sound mode

It is normal that it has deep base. It is a 3 way system. Can I ask for a comparison between GnP 3 and Teufel Boomster (latest version for 2023)
go play 3 wins

maybe go 3 can sounds muddy because go 2 had boost around 3khz which gives this clarity
Mid of go play 2 is so good
Is new hk go play 3 compatible to the jbl boombox 3 and similar sized speakers?
go play 3 is maybe a bit bigger than go play 2 but boombox 3 is bigger and bassier
