A rise in reported cases of harassment does not necessarily mean there are more cases of harassment. It could just be that the IDF is becoming better at handling these cases which leads to more women choosing to report.
When I was a soldier I was never sexually harassed by another soldier, but I was constantly harassed on public transportation, and I spent a lot of time on public transportation unfortunately.
Being sarcastic- but Better be careful when stating facts over their truth - especially when it doesn’t fit the narrative. Thanks for reporting it. I don’t believe it happens as much as they want you to believe it does. Ive worked 40 yrs private/govt and I’ve never seen a male sexually harass a female. No one wants trouble or the hassles of getting fired at the least. Not if one’s career orientated.

I’ve been to Israel 4 times while in the USN. Went on many tours. There were always Israelis with us for our protection. Enjoyed myself immensely. I talked to many Israeli military members and was very impressed by them. Male and female. I would go back again to visit.

Not Israeli or Jewish, but this makes me so proud of these brave young women, and of the IDF and Israel in general. I'm also more or less a pacifist, but pacifism doesn't apply when you're fighting against an enemy who doesn't play by any rules and whose goal is to annihilate you. IDF is one of the finest defense forces in the world and they will prevail.

@@spongemanicecone5445 Exactly I don’t understand when people make this point. There has never been an American soldier fighting for Israel. They should complain about Iraq or Afghanistan because American soldiers have actually died for those people.
When you learn about the Russian female soldiers in WW2 and the Kurdish women who fought ISIS you know there will always be men who don't want women to be put at risk or at least not as many women. Sadly honor is usually thrown out the window on the battlefield, but it's an unavoidable fact. But besides that it is admirable to want to serve despite the risk and general hardships.

When you are surrounded by enemies that don't want your country to exist then you don't have much options when it comes to recruits and you're automatically gonna get a lot of women that will do anything to protect their home just like Russia in WW2. Sounds like you have the basic problems with women in the military that we have in the U.S. military minus the religious block. I retired from the U.S. Army as a 1SG but prior to retiring visited Israel and was impressed with its military and security apparatus.

I opened my eyes and found a pretty Israeli Army girl sitting beside who had also nodded off. The barrel of the Uzi she was carrying was against my side. I got to visit in the late 80’s and was impressed by the presence of the on and off duty carrying of their service weapons. Saw a few gals at the beach in swim wear with viable outlines of uzi/Mac 10’s in their beach bags.
There was an incident a block over one day. A shooting of some sorts. The street was blocked off, an investigation team was done in about 20 minutes and a special cleanup team took 10 minutes and the street was reopened with little trace of a disturbance in under an hour.
I had many similar experiences while serving in the Sinai in the early eighties with a weekly visit to Eilat driving a truck. I know exactly what you're talking about brother!

you forgot to mention that women had a big rule in the organization that established Israel and the Israeli army like "the Haganah and the Palma'ch, Et'zel and the Le'hi.
We mention that they women played a role in the formation of the state, and many of those old photos are from the Palmach archives.

They are also deliberately kept in some of the safest areas to work.

This was one of the most horrific moments in Palestine's history, under the Zionist occupation, which is really saying something. Israel, at the time, launched a ground invasion of Gaza In July 2014. During this period, which lasted around seven weeks until August 26, the United Nations report said that the scale of devastation was unprecedented.
Palestinians fired around 4800 rockets and 1750 mortars, killing 67 Israeli soldiers and six civilians. At the same time, Israel carried out 6000 airstrikes fired 14,500 tank shells and 45,000 artillery shells.
The death toll among Palestinians reached 2252, 65% of them were civilians, 25% of them were children. On top of that 11,000 Palestinians were left wounded. According UN estimates, at the time, up to 1000 children would be left permanently disabled as a result of the hostilities in 2014.
The report also said that post traumatic stress disorder, (PTSD), and other stress related symptoms have increased and about 20%, of the population in Gaza are estimated to be in need of long term mental health assistance, this includes 373,000.

The British Consul-General in Jerusalem al-Quds says the Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories are “illegal” and hindering negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis.
“We are frankly talking with the Israelis about the importance of halting all the settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories,” Philip Hall said in an interview with official television station Palestine TV, which was broadcast on Monday.
He also expressed his country’s concern over the acts of violence committed by Israeli setters against the Palestinian people.
More than 600,000 Israelis live in over 230 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds.
All Israeli settlements are illegal under international law. The UN Security Council has condemned Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied territories in several resolutions.

Everyone knows that The UN is corrupted and most of it represented by Arab countries so of course they would call it occupation and illegal settlements. And yes, there are 600,000 Jews who are living in Jewish holy cities like Hebron. What's the problem? They don't hurt anybody. Why can't they live there? There are millions of Arabs who are living in Israel as civilians with full rights as any Jew.
