Successful performers often have over-inflated egos + fans are hardly going to abandon the show because of a shitty guitar solo. Either it's deliberately bad for extra clicks or as far as he's concerned he played guitar and everybody cheered.
In Johnny Depp’s case, he was just really drunk. He can actually play guitar quite well. As for Manson, no idea.
Manson's guitar playing skills begin and end with power chords. I'm pretty sure the "solo" he did in the clip was shit on purpose. He knows he can't really play. He usually plays guitar on one song during most of their tours, but traditionally it's always just power chords in drop D.
Because people are brainwashed and they are gonna keep supporting him anyways, so guys like him don't even fucking care about it. There's even a chance he might gain some fans because he "played the solo"
I never really got into Manson. He just seems to me like he's one of those musicians that is more show than go. A ton of makeup and outlandish lyrics and behavior is never a substitute for talent.

Actually the song called: Whipped pistol included a kind of non armonic solo and he played almost, like in the record.
The LP Born Villian includes guitar parts that are kind of noisy sound and non armonic but that's the main goal (I think)

The signature guitar should have had 6 E strings (although I guess Sonic Youth probably got there first).
They have one but with 16 high E strings
only 17 likes? i guess thats because most people never heard of sonic youth. besides that i suggest a set of 2 low and 2 high e strings while the middle ones get dropped by a full tone causing a tuning of e -d-e-e-d-e. should add a little more "substance".
Sonic Youth are infamous for insane strings and tunings with their guitars, so they've probably already tried that!

To be fair, the song in question is Pistol Whipped, and the part Manson does starts at 3:34 (in original song) and it's not a solo, but just a weird and hectic transition, that sounds pretty much the same as Manson did in this video. How can it be possible for ANY 90s nu-metal legend to not be the greatest guitarist ever?? Nu-metal represents the pinnacle of musicianship. These "artists" epitomize greatness!
