I think you found the perfect woman for an adventure like you are about to have. Laura is beautiful but her attitude and smile is everything. Wishing you guys lots of fun and happiness
What a great add with Laura! Funny, delightful, playful and makes the vlogs more interesting. Your videos and commentary are getting better and better. Can’t wait to catch up.
Another great video, you do a great job of telling the story of cruising , boat prep, provisioning, time at sea, cooking, breakdowns, new harbors, arriving and best of all, beer or wine at end of the trip. I especially enjoyed the Sausalito experience, I had a boat in Clipper Yacht Harbor, in the late 70’s, J-24 which I raced and owned for 15 years. Laura is a great crew, helpful, enthusiastic, fun and competent.
Started watching Sailing Doodles a while back but had to go back and see when Laura came on board. She has so much energy and really has fun everywhere she goes its fun watching Bobby try and keep up....I can`t wait to see the new places and adventures that come next.
You are either lucky or you just make great choices in people because I didn't think you could find someone who brings as much positive energy as Megan did when she sailed with you, but then here comes Laura! I'm really looking forward to the upcoming videos!
Your great Bobby, love hearing all the nautical info and really love Laura’s zesty personality! The both of you make these episodes so much fun to watch.
Sailing under the Golden Gate bridge is always fun! I though have never done it on anything but an Aircraft Carrier which is also super fun and memorable because hundreds of people were always there to drop thousands of flowers on our deck as we went under. I envy you two!
Wow - we were neighbors for a bit here - I am about 75 miles from Coos bay - a rough bar at times ... then the Charleston bay - man that place is like Winter even in Summer was freezing when we looked at a boat there ! Happy sails guys ! cheers , Scott and son
Hey Bobby, Laura and Serge. Great video you guys. Bobby thank you for the update on the dogs. They are a lure in watching your adventures as sailing with pets must bring it's own kind of rewards/hurdles. Also just wanted to say thanks for explaining what a 'bar' is in nautical terms. For us who don't sail these kind of insights are interesting to learn. If you can drop one or two of these in during your videos it'd be great. Take care - and happy sailing.
That "sea grass" as you called it is Bull Kelp. Grows all over in that area. I am in the San Juans every summer and sometimes you will see big masses of it at the surface when the tides really swing.
Welcome Laura, Bobby she is a delight for sure, And so funny, Thank you both for sharing And its - 20 here in the north so it looks pretty good down there to me. Terry
LAURA = SUNSHINE DISPOSITION!!! So Happy Go Lucky, Easy Going and Positive even when she's seasick! Amazing Luck finding her! She will bring the Sunshine all through your travels from now on!
Bobby, I feel your pain with those oysters: yuck - why? Laura is such a good nurse. I loved it when she asked you if you know your name. Too funny. Good to see you guys back on the water.
Bobby Laura has a good charm with positive energy, good addition to your crew besides being a nurse seems to know how to cook too. I would guess that Laura can fish too, she is definitely a keeper and yes she is beautiful and her personality matches yours good chemistry!. Welcome Laura to the Doodles gang show some love to Bobby he is a good person. Catch you on next live stream cheers.
8,000 views and only 8oo+ likes? come on people, gotta hit that like button! Good start to the sail, even if the weather wasn't the nicest, but expected that far north this time of year. That Beneteau is a gorgeous boat, and for those that say it's an old 1, not only has it been gone over, they are built with the highest quality, going to get spoiled by that thing you crew. The sea sickness happens to the best of them, just weeks ago a friend whose never had it did on a rough portion of our sail 1 cool morning, and Bobby, get some cheap foam earplugs, have anyone experiencing it put 1 in the opposite ear of their dominate hand, in other words if they are right-handed put in left ear only, learned that trick from an old salt who swear it works everytime. Never have had it myself..which means I've jinxed myself and will be hurling chum on the next trip out! Lucky you found another good sport, who can deal w/the less than perfect conditions that come w/life on sail, and rolls through them w/a laugh, like Laura does, good introduction too. Now I've written a book I'll close by saying, fair winds and fair sailing.
That stuff floating in big bunches is called kelp or giant kelp. I have stayed here n that exact dock (Friday harbor) many many times. Although not when it was snowing. Great channel, you have here.
Looked like quite the journey going south. It can get very crappy in the Juan de Fuca as well. Too bad you weren't here during the summer. It is beautiful up here.
Great vid. Glad you guys are back on the water. You guys have been all around my stomping grounds. I live in Boise and spend summers sailing the San Juans. My favorite waters to sail.. In July and August only though :)
Try stay top side to reduce the effects of sea sickness. I worked on an ocean going tug. Those sailors taught me a lots that was very useful when I bought my own cruising sail boat.
Bob, you dog you! 3 great sailing partners in a row! I might be leaving someone out, but you sure have a knack for picking very nice gals to sail with you! I am looking forward to more sailing adventures!
Hey Bobby, the water coming in is a real shortcoming of the boat design. You need a remedy for that. The first time you're asleep and that happens and all your bedding gets soaked with salt water, you'll wholehearted agree! Seriously!
OK Bob! Dude you light up like a Christmas Tree when she shows up. I would too. Y'all have a way to go so enjoy your time together. Nothing against Megan but I hope this is a good arrangment for the both of you. Best wishes from DFW.
Hi. I have been a sub since the first episode before you bought the Ruff Seas. The channel has been a bit low for a bit, but IThink now you have the possibilities to really pay back to all of us who want to be a part of your sailing adventures. I am looking forward to the rest of the story, and It seems like you have put together a great crew.
Bob, not only is Laura beautiful, but when she talks she looks you straight in the eyes, Bob return the favor instead of looking away or looking down like you did in this video. I understand sometimes its hard to do when the woman is so pretty, but it shows you respect what she is saying and are Hearing her...lol...I'm like Amanda and Megan Who as well!! Laura-pretty ,nice, great smile and a Nurse, what more could guy want?
Bobby, For the record... I approve of Laura. She fits. 😎👍🏻 I wish I was back home in the Bay Area to hang out with you guys at the meet-n-greet. Maybe next time. Keep the blue side up.
Helloo Laura ! (Aka Nurse Good body ). Best crew yet Bob. Even James Cook had severe sea sickness and Laura is very tough to endure it and still want to go sailing. Sea sickness is your worse hangover x10.
All Shellbacks love sucking down oysters!!! Laura is 1 in a billion and once again you are the luckiest Shellback on the high seas. I wish you two would have a meet and greet for all your fans in Westport, Washington as you pass by
I think you found the perfect woman for an adventure like you are about to have. Laura is beautiful but her attitude and smile is everything. Wishing you guys lots of fun and happiness
Great chemistry and Laura is such a laugh, probably having a positive effect on Bobby as well.
I’m really enjoying this.
