I’ve gotten to meet Ted 3 different times in my life. Once as a kid, once as a teen, and once as an adult. All 3 times he was super classy and polite. Love his guitar playing and the fact that he is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an absolute joke.

Cool. He's always been my favorite. I live in Michigan and grew up loving his music. The first time I heard great Gonzo's late at night on WRIF Detroit I was hooked. Then my aunt had the scream dream album and the cover blew me away. Guitar arms!! Loved him forever. He is doing final tour this year. He will be missed. All the haters that dog him for being a gun owner and hunter can f off. Uncle Ted forever!!

I was lucky enough to meet the Nuge in the early 80's when I was 12 or 13 at a Bear Archery shop. He helped me pick out a bow for my size and skill level. He really knew his shit and he didn't talk down to me because I was a dumb kid. Very cool guy. That said, his first album is still my favorite.

Somehow I talked my mom into getting me Double Live Gonzo when it first came out. I was eleven and absolutely blown away. That being said, I tried to keep up with Nugent post-Gonzo, but I found less and less to grab onto. Just like Pete said, between the juvenile lyrics and the weakly produced 80s albums, he lost me. Are there scattered songs here and there that are worth a listen? Of course. But for me, 75-79 Nugent is all I need to listen to.

Both of you have excellent rapport and mutual respect and it’s fun to listen to your back-and-forth banter. Fascinating to hear the comparisons to Foghat, Molly Hatchet, rush, etc as well as observations about the different eras like classic period, hair metal.

Longtime fan. Seen Him 15 times over the years. Most recently last summer. He's still great. Here's My take #1. Double Live Gonzo ! One of the best albums in any category by anybody. I never leave live albums off My lists. Ted Nugent especially is way more important and better understood as a live rocker then anything.
#2. Free For All / Cat Scratch Fever. I can't pick. Both perfect albums. Both Ted Nugent at His best.
#3. Ted Nugent I would rate this as equal to the other 2. But the song Hey Baby causes it to Not be a perfect album. I want to hear Ted Nugent songs not Bad company. Its a low point for Me when He does it live. There's so much better to choose from.
#4. Scream Dream Another mind blowing smoking Nugent album. Could easily rate this in the top 3 as well. Only gets better with age. My first Nugent concert. And one of the loudest concerts I ever saw. Wild times !
#5. Intencities In Ten Cities again I DO rate live albums. And this is a killer one. Teds most brutal album. Teds most punk rock album. Snub nosed heavy metal garage rock played live. So many good memories go along with this one. when it was new.
    First girlfriend , First car.
#6. Weekend Warriors This album confused Me when it was new. But like scream Dream its only gotten better with age. One of the coolest album covers by any band ever !
#7. Little Miss Dangerous Its true that this could be said to be a hair metal album. But for whatever reason I just love it. I love the sound and production. Very polished. Yet very loud and rockin. Love nearly every song. Another one I still love more each year. Saw Him live 3 times that tour. I assure You Nugent was on fire at the time.
#8 Tooth Fang & Claw I know technically not a true Nugent album. But then again it is. Very cool album cover and the hardest heaviest thing with the name Amboy Dukes on it for sure. I could be convinced to rate this a little higher on another day. Call Of The Wild is damn good too. As well as the other Amboy Dukes albums. But thats really another thing.
#9. Craveman One of his heaviest albums. And tons of damn good songs. Should have been a bigger hit for Him.
#10. Spirit Of The Wild another great album. The return of Derick St Holmes. Loads of great songs. The masterpiece that is Fred Bear alone makes this worth owning.
#11. Hammersmith live 79, Sweden Rocks live, Full Bluntal Nugity , UltraLive Ballistic Rock & Motor City Mayhem. All great live CDs well worth owning. Teds always best as a live animal.
#12. Love Grenade Another very heavy Nugent album. About 3-4 mind blowing songs and the rest might be filler. But still not bad.
#13 If You Can't Lick Em, Lick Em. 3 songs on this I really love. The rest is typical Nugent but just not as inspired as usual. Just filler I guess.
#14. Shut Up And Jam Another album with 3 songs that blow Me away and I love. But the rest seems like filler.
#15 State Of Shock badass album cover. And Paralyzed is a great song amongst His best ever. But I can't find much else to love about this one.
#16 The Music Made Me Do it Very short album. First 4 songs rule. I could rate this higher if He had kept that up. But the remakes and instro stuff. the blues. Not for Me. But did show the old maniac can still do it. If we could get Him to do a full 12 song album of stuff as good as the first 4 songs. It would be another classic.
#17 Hunt Music A very quiet mostly instrumental music. Very different side of Ted. I enjoy it. Its a obscure self released CD. A lot of his critics would be very surprised to hear this one.
#18. Nugent This one just hit Me wrong. I saw this tour. As always a great live show. I guess Tailgunner is like a weak Stranglehold. And thats about the best song. Every few Years I try to revisit it. But its just not for Me.
#19 Penetrator Kind of strange I rate the hair metal Little Miss Dangerous so High. But this as His worst ever? I don't know. I saw the tour. Great show. I love Tied Up In Love. But very little else can I get into at all.

I gave up after State of Shock but to me The Amboy Dukes albums especially "Survival of the Fittest, Call of the Wild, Tooth Fang and Claw" are some of his best imo.

Early T. N. is pretty good but after the first 3 or 4 albums lost interest. Some of those Amboy Dukes albums are certainly worth a listen.Especially Tooth and Survival of the fittest.

I have loved Ted Nugent from the day his debut solo LP came out, and that first album is still my favorite of all his works. That being said, there isn't much I don't like by Ted Nugent. He is a massive guitar player, a tremendous performer, and his personality is a hoot! Love the guy!

That’s so funny the Ted Nugent free-for-all concert was my first concert also only I Grupp in Salem Oregon and I went to Portland with my older brother to see him November 19, 1976 and I now live in Spokane where he saw this show! I was right up against the stage barrier smashed together with every one else... great show especially for a 15 year old

I just have only the Best of but I remember when I was driving from Spokane to Lewiston Idaho with a rental Car in n the middle of the night I got lost and was depressed then the Radio played Stranglehold, and everything went well. In Germany you will never hear this kind of Music. I saw him live with Judas Priest (Defender to the faith) as warm up.

I always will Love Ted's 1st two Albums. I went to many of his concerts in the Late 70s. Ted was larger than life in the late 70s. I quit listening to him in the 80s. I did like the Nugent Damn Yankees songs, Nice Mix of NightRanger, Ted, and Shaw.

Arguably St. Holmes was the best singer. Love/hate him Nugent has been consistent in his style and views. What a gtr player. That Byrdland howling and no gimmicks. He was the real deal in the late 70s and added fire to Damn Yankees. Prob only him and Angus Young who made high volume such a part of their act

I grew up with Ted's music & love his playing as a guitarist, but if you have the first three albums in my order of favorites, "Free For All," "Ted Nugent," & "Cat Scratch Fever," you have all the Ted you'll ever need, though I have to admit, "Craveman" kicked, but honestly, I'd be hard pressed to remember most of the songs on that album unless I listening to it.
Oh, I loved Meat Loafs vocals on "Free For All." But I think some people just cannot get pass the fact that it is Meatloaf... I had no idea who he was in 1976 (I was 16), when I bought this album.

101 WRIF radio used to play Weekend Warriors every Friday at 6pm. I prefer Uncle Ted's live stuff, because so much of his studio stuff is hit or miss with me. So top 5 studio for me would be:
    5. Cat Scratch Fever
    4. Weekend Warriors
    3. Free For All
    2. Spirit Of The Wild
    1. Ted Nugent

I thought his first album was the best as well as Weekend Warriors. I have not heard most of his 80’s albums so I can’t really speak on those. I’d like to get the 80-88 era at some point.
