I find it kinda funny how this implies that Rayman Raving Rabbids is a prequel to Rayman 3, with André being a representation of Sergueï, who makes Globox experience the stages of grief by kidnapping all of his children and possibly causing Uglette to divorce him, hence why Globox gains an alcohol addiction
Thanks for the video! I've always thought it interesting that Rayman's hands go and act on their own at the end Rayman 3. I guess it can indeed be considered a metaphor for Rayman's subconscious
What a fascinating analysis! I’d also like to add my interpretation of a facet of Rayman 3’s messaging: Rayman and Globox represent two extremes of how not to handle mental health issues. Rayman actively tries to fight André and his army, potentially punching Globox to harm André but only hurting his friend in the process, and the Hoodlums only impede his progress as he keeps fighting. He does break through and save the world, but one cannot deny that he struggled in doing so. Globox, on the other hand, succumbs to the darkness and develops alcoholic tendencies. He also becomes attached to André over the course of the story, treating him like a child or pet, and saying he *misses* the source of his pain and alcoholism in the final cutscene. Perhaps this is a reflection of the twisted stability found in stagnancy; Globox’s cowardice and potential trauma from previous adventures may have caused him to develop a tendency to freeze or fawn, contrasting Rayman’s predisposition to fighting.
Love your interpretation! I think it makes sense and honestly parallels how the journey of these struggles can materialise lol. I think deeper topics expressed in an enjoyable way through art is some of the most helpful tools to have in life, and I’m glad I had these video games at an early age to give me a vibe of that. I think that’s why I’ve always loved to have art that makes obstacles cooler and more fun to deal with in life. 🌸
Someone needs to make a silly but depressing Rayman game with all in Le head way just for the silliness of it XD You actually made me laugh multiple times in the video it was kinda funny. 😂
Globox accidentally killed Murphy and that's what finally pushed him to alcoholism. The part when Murphy gets back up from being squished and says the iconic line ''see you n Rayman 4''? That was his twatting ghost!!
As a certified limbless, purple loving person (not joking purple is actually my favorite color) I'm saying that Corkben isn't pretencious, he's your dad.
Maybe the parts they get separated is actually a methaphor about drifting apart due to their own personal issues, eventually finding each other and facing it together(¿ Anyway this video was great, I swear I shouldn't be giggling like an idiot the whole way. Also yes Plum Juice is DEFINITELY alcohol André confirms it is fermented and the line of Globox being allergic is missing from the French version so he's definitely getting drunk due to bad influences (André)
this was amazing. peak interpretation to things that are most likely not there, and peak dark comedy. whats next, mr dark being a metaphor for an abusive father or something like that? that sounds pretty pretentious
If you get that creative i suggest you next topic: Is Globox having children canon? In R3 and Origins/Legends he sleeps and lives with Rayman like he got no family. Is that because he is a terrible husband and father? Did R2 plot happen after R3 and Origins/Legends? Or maybe he was only a step-father to these 650 children and before R3 he broke up with Uglette? Are the little frogs from RRR even Uglette's children at all or just some different species? Did father of these little frogs die right before RRR and Rayman became a foster father? We need answers to that quickLy before they make plot for R4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!11
I’m just curious. Do you know of a TH-camr named FrameRater at all? He doesn’t make videos anymore now. He recently retired his channel earlier this year but the reason I’m asking is because he was a big fan of Rayman too and also considered it his favourite video game series ever as well. He even did videos going over the beta for the original Rayman 4 before it turned into Raving Rabbids. I can’t believe it would’ve been an open world type game at one point as well!
can we stop making childrens media super dark and gritty and a metaphor for mental health? no, nobody at ubisoft was thinking about making rayman 3 an allegory for alcocholism and depression.
@@narcolepticBanana I don’t know how many times I said in this video not to take it seriously lol But regardless of that, plum juice IS alcohol. Ubisoft themselves have said this lol

Rayman needs more filmbro essays written about him. This was awesome!!
Maybe I’ll make more 👀
This is like when the brain doesnt get enough stimulation so makes its own stimulation but instead of lack of stimulation its just lack of rayman

See, I always knew Rayman 3 had a deep story that no one seems to understand. Except Corkben, who isn't pretentious, he's my dad.
Globox gets home from the bar and fights Uglette 😭

Globox in Plum-Juice Rehab confirmed for Rayman 4??
