Excellent content, thank you. I'm getting a D12 in my xmas stocking (looks like fun), but these little Jimney trailers look fun. I knew a guy many years ago in our off road club who had one. They hold their own even against some landrovers.
Nice to know they got a clear top coming out! Looking forward to having a white canvas top. Nice tip with the spray of clear coat to seal the window masks! Thanks!
Love the scale look on this RCs. Always liked the full scale Jimnys. These are like blank canvases waiting to be modified. WPL really should adress that steering issue.
@@just.jose.youtube Agree 💯, when these were super popular in the 80's I just loved them! WPL did an amazing job with the true to scale details, especially with the convertible version! As far as the steering issue, most RTR vehicles has some flaw or other and this happens to be this ones. Most of these will be modified right out of the box or down the line at some point, unless it's used as a toy grade rc or display model!
@@carlm8821 I understand what you're saying and, considering the characteristics and specs on a lot of their models, I do believe WPL releases a lot of their models, like I said, as a white canvas ready to be customised to one's liking. On the other hand, I don't think quality control should have let this defect pass, especially if it's as easy to solve as stated in the video. And it's the second model with this issue too. WPL has been around for a while and I like them a lot, I just think that if they want to maintain their spot, they should do better.
@@AMPROEngineering Well I just ordered the removable 'soft top' version and know what to expect thanks to your in depth and honest review! At some point in the future I will consider the 'tin-top' version because I like that they used leaf springs like the real ones did! Maybe by then they will have improved all the small issues and annoyances. One can only hope anyway!
I've had a c14 since they first releced the c14. Now back then it was just a realy good toy/ simi hobby level. But. Now that the all metal kits are available you move from toy to full hobby grade real fast. I super scale run my old c14 all the time and everyone loves it . Even tho the other trucks is way bigger than me it's amusing that I still can climb with them. I've upgraded everything now and a hand made customs suspinton to set the truck to a stockish ride height but with quight alot of flex even tho it sets lower than the stock toy kit.
first comment eyy, i love your videos im watching them all the free time i have, like whole night haha i purchased C54-1 and its about to get delivered so im excited, i really like WPL cars
Thanks for this review! I'm seriously considering picking this guy up as they're so neat! You pointed out the fact that not only is this an officially licensed Jimny/Samurai it's also a 'true' 1/10 scale rig. Most manufacturers seem to be all over the place when it comes to this detail. For all the features and the price point it's worth it and with some basic hobby skills/upgrades this could easily run with the best of the bunch on the trails!
LOL! Yes I will make a video. It is a Fiat Panda (there are a few videos on here covering it) and I just installed it on an AE CR12 chassis. You can see it running a bit on my Proline By The Fire video.

Thank you! The D12 is an amazing truck. I love mine. Yes those Samurais are amazing!
Love my little WPL!
Yes me too

Sure thing!
Nice. I got into wpl cause of you. I really enjoy them.
Glad to hear it! I really do love these.

Yeah it is quite a shame that they have not. I have told them again that this is not acceptable and WPL always does end up making needed changes.

Part of me wants to jump into the WPL scene while part of me thinks I will just be disappointed. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for the video.

@@RazzRG nice. Maybe I’ll pick one up
save the hassle and take an MN168
@@JoinR You think they’re a better budget friendly RC?
@@JoinR I think I’d rather have the MN78.
cool new look, RC with great adventure, always good videos bro👍👍😃
Well thank you so much!
Still haven't unboxed my convertible cause I hadn't finished my class 1 chassis conversion for it yet on my 2nd tin top test bed!
Nice! I do like the metal top one too.

Well thank you!
Has all the weird WPL claky and clicky sounds we know and love
LOL, it ran like a champ but that weird knuckle thing is not acceptable.
@@AMPROEngineering Agreed, i need to fix it on my C54, but its more of a show car then a driving car. Not alot of go in that scale where i live :D
really hoping they're able to sell the doors seperate so you can upgrade the V1 with the features the V2 has
Hmmm....That would be a good idea. they Usually do make lots of parts available.
Great video, thanks!
Thank you!
Nice Suzuki.
I am excited to detail this one

That’s a cool lamp. 😉
Hell yes it is! It is now in my office! Ill need to send off a picture!

Oh for sure. The Axial bronco is said to be 1/10 but it is closer to 1/7! This one here is actually 1/10 and a genuinely good outdoor trail truck.
They have to develop a Wpl noon pumpkin next 😂
I have one on the way!
Very off topic question here. I got a HG P407 bruiser. Where can I get the servo steering arm and battery retainer?
We are putting everything on YouMagine (youmagine.com/ampro-engineering) but are still getting a print service up and running.
Can we talk about that little blue hatchback? Is that a justy!!!!!!!
Looks like a Fiat Panda 4x4.
He made a video about it 5 years ago. It's a custom body for Tamiya CC01.

Yes!
Oh yeah its been a while. On a CR12 chassis now.
my c54-1 drivesharfts exploded, like broke apart into a bunch of pieces from driving on carpet
Wow weird. They do make excellent metal ones which many of my cars have.
Can you put the hardtop body on this chassis?
Yes I think that you can.
Any chance of AMPRO upgrades for the c74 in the future?
Very likely!
@@AMPROEngineering I knew I could count in AMPRO
im thinking of getting this instead of mn99s, what do you think is a good upgrade for this?
I would get the metal driveshafts. This is the best option.
Is the c74 bigger in size or the mn 168?
Sadly I do not own one of the mn 168 but I would look up the vehicle specs.
