This should be on the main channel. Wpl is underated for people who are beginers and on a very tight budget.
FOR REAL, when you have 5 kids to buy for who can afford the expensive stuff.
Love that it isn’t loud. Honestly the biggest detractors from the cheap RCs is the loud whine. The JJRC C8809 is super silent. I’ve been able to do some 2am back-yard sessions in a residential area it’s so quiet.
Yes this is better than the older Jimny. It didn’t have opening doors and the removable window frame is a neat touch. I think I read it has some upgraded drivetrain parts too. Excellent!!

Always liked the full size Samuri, this one looks so accurate almost doesn't matter how good it actually is as an RC would love one as a display piece!

I'm biased because I 've spent many happy hours playing off-road in these little vehicles, but it seems to me that all this model really needs is decent shocks and the kit tyres. They haven't fobbed you off with a puny motor.

I have the OG C74 and it is leaf sprung. It’s more of a shelf queen/chase the dog in the house vehicle. I do own an 87 Samurai which is why I had to have one. Mine is a soft top. So naturally I have to have this one now….. nice to see that they have same some improvements and that the doors open now! It’ll be on my Christmas list for sure.

A bit of 1000wt silicone or heavy grease in the “shocks” and on the shaft dose wonders for these. I’ve done it on all of my 1/18 and 1/24 rigs. I can’t stand the bouncy bit.
Seems well priced and has a good looking licenced hard body! I see this being a great base for projects and mods.
Would be a sweet rig with a sound kit, oil shocks, and some wheels/tires!
I mean for like $90 that's not a bad place to start in the crawler world and has everything needed. It can get new people into the hobby and out having fun without breaking the bank.
This was my thought as well until I remembered you can get an Ascent 18 for not much more, and it makes this look like a $20 WalMart special sadly.
WPL always do a great job with their bodies and interior and just overall scale realism. It's just the functionality/build quality that is usually subpar at best.
Sweet review. Got mine right before I left for BTF. Hopping to get to the mods this weekend and get in on the rocks. Body as always is amazing.

The c64 I got has the same dreadful shocks. Got some oil ones in the post - they look great and are pretty fun on small stuff
Nice to see that they've improved the electronics. But I don't understand why they made it a four link when the real samurai is leaf spring suspension.
I won the hard body one from DOrc's channel.. not a bad little rig.. My Granddaughter loves it!! 🤟 Great Videos bud!!
Maybe test out the new WPL oil shocks? Would be interesting to see how they do on this! 🙌🏻👍🏻

just a thought.. :D If you kind of lean the driver off to the other side, to like adjust the mirror or something, you get more of the original balance of the car, and it would look kind of cool to..

This looks like a good crawler for the price. I think for a beginning trail truck or crawler it would be good.

In Japan it is sold as a Jimmy. Small 4x4 reminiscent of the original Samurai from the '70s.
Very nice for the price. Throw some oil filled shocks and some heavy wheels and soft tires on it...I bet it would be a blast!
Very nice truck I would like to have a short wheelbase truck in my collection and this might just be the first one.

you should stretch the wheelbase and put utb18 axles under it!
That suspension sucks its just like the C64 and I'm sending mine back, the front tires rub the front springs and makes it about undriveable
no turn signals when turning! yes..your dreams do come true..lol!

The first one awful & unbearable even for light trail. Mine now put it on ftx outback 1/16th/rgt 136161 chassis because how awful their stock chassis is. Even MN82 with it's plastic chassis perfom much better as rtr stock.
But these however seems really good, when saw first time how it flex & C64-1 shocks I know this is not same as before .
They know in global much prefer with performance so they're changing to 4 link suspension (JP version still on leaf springs).
Had a beer, watched a review or two, now somehow Im waiting on the post for both a MN99s and this C74-1...

front tires hanging up, rear sitting low, adds a bunch of weight after turning down the suspension. ARE YOU NEW? lol.
