Don't know why everyone is so confused - the fist thru the chest, Hwasa, and the dancers are all simple visual metaphors. The song is about him being too stupid and too blind to see her charms and what's inside her. She starts by saying "You don't know me." I'm sure we all got the joke about handing him the glasses. Hwasa and the dancers illustrate aspects of her that he's blind about - they aren't literally in the room with the lovers. Hwasa shows up after Wheein tosses the jacket aside, rolls up her sleeves and goes back in the room for one last try. Hwasa represents Wheein's toughness, strength and sexiness imo and the dancers are reflections of her ultra-cool, funky hipster side. These are all things he should see in her if he really loves her. He doesn't and she doesn't believe his lies so she finally shows us what's really inside him - a big empty hole where his heart should be. She sees through him - literally, after she makes the hole. lol. It's not that deep or weird. Wheein hiding in the bathtub pretending the shower head is a phone - that's weird. I think she added the epilogue just to remind us that beagle-dol is only one small part of her. She wants to know whether beagle is all we see her as - do we see her not-so-hidden charms and talents?

this sound is actually veeeerrry wheein. and honestly no one understands the ending, my only theory is that it's mamamoo's beagleness leaving a mark on the MV

아리엘 I agree that's her beagle side but rather than leaving a mark on the MV I think it goes like this: in the MV she shows us various aspects of herself that the guy (and the fans) are blind about and then adds beagle as the last, least important part of her persona. What is she saying to the shower head as she hides in the tub? Perhaps she's asking whether we see the multi-faceted Wheein hiding in plain sight inside the beagle-dol. I think moomoos do but I'm not sure about casual fans or the general public. Btw, I also left a long comment about the parts of the MV that PD was confused about.

This genre is Wheein's favourite! Her self composed single, featured in a previous MAMAMOO album, Moderato, has a similar vibe! Check it out too!
Wheein's voice is pretty versatile. She *has* done ballads (her ft on Jungkey's Anymore won #1 without any promos) but ahe personally isn't a huge fam of ballads and is more into hip hop and r&b :)
Wheein actually more likely to be an R&B singer than ballad though.. she is known for ballad because of "anymore" but she's definitely more of an R&B type of singer

I don't know if you noticed the tattoo on her right arm but it's a drawing of a girl with a Magnolia (flower) hanging at the tip of her mouth
She used it as a concept of her being a woman who is a "steel magnolia" which means that she has the strength of steel, yet the femininity of a magnolia
I guess that explains the last part where she broke the guy's heart with her steel hand 😂

Reasons why Whee in is my bias
The ending was the director's idea - its basically like representing a "hole" where is heart would be (since the song is about him neglecting her/being nonchalant towards her affections) - so quite a literal representation lol
Also wheien is very much into this type of sound/R&B, if you listened to Moderato before - it sort of shows this different side to her :)
Anything with sik-k is a bop

you should check out Moderato by Wheein (ft. Hash Swan) too! It's somewhat a similiar vibe but perhaps more R&B and soul feel to it

To your comment about her doing a ballad, whee In to me never felt like that type of singer solo, In mamamoo, yes because of solar which would be a ballad singer to me and hwasa's variety but hwasa is more jazzy & R&B styled ballads to me with whee in being jazz and R&B who can do ballads

tbh im not complaining since we got a wheein solo even though their schedules are alr packed for the whole year. the only thing i dont like is RBW being messy with the promotion and stuff. everything's kinda unprepared for like they suddenly say its an album but its only a solo song, then they announce hwasa and loco's collab on hyenas on the keyboard like 2 days before the episode and thennnn after announcing solar's solo concert, they announce 4 mvs from solar out of nowhere which is just really messy (but im still grateful ofcourse). i hate how things are overlapping and each member hasn't gotten a proper promotion at least of their individual activities lol. i kinda wished wheein performed this atleast for 2 weeks or 1. nonetheless its charting very well right now so im still happy :D
WheeIn and Mamamoo as a whole are a very versatile bunch of artists. Here we see WheeIn singing a very cool and funky modern sounding song that I absolutely love and is absolutely her. Yes, the song did remind me of Haize's singing.
I believe this is one of the songs off Mamamoo's next album which should come out in a month or two (they are releasing 4 albums this year) somewhat like 'Paint Me' from 'Yellow Flower' was released early as an album teaser.
I understand that the story of this song is that she has a boyfriend who ignores her and is self centred, so she punches out his heart as he's a heartless bastard.... or something like that. 😁

I really love this kind of groovy vibe ,and i love it when artists hit the high notes with a sassy/husky voice. Like not saying the real high note is not my fav (in ballad it literally kills me like in Taeyeon's U R) but wheein just made it really sexy
in the mv we can see the different ways Wheein tries to capture the attention of the man she loves, which are all the various aspects of herself he's too clueless to see. Hwasa represent Wheein's inner sexy babe, the red outfit and hair style are the hip chick side of her, we can find also a chic Wheein, a game girl etc. In the end she turns on the girl power and reveals the hole where his heart should be. The epilogue shows her beagle side pretending to talk at the phone with a shower head. She's a perfect artist, from music to voice, from acting to dancing, from painting to fashion…and so on. This is part of her first solo album…be ready! Please check out Hwasa "Be calm" too

Ok I might be wrong but I think the different outfits may show different sides of her that she uses to get the attention of a guy (and hwasa may represent her inner sexines?), but he doesn't notice it or just doesn't care about it. And at the end her robot hand making a hole inside him may represente the emptines inside the guy? And the end her using the shower head probably represent her coming back to her true self, the beagle like wheein we all love.

Hello PD-nim! What?! You haven't heard Whee In's other solo releases? She had a #1 chart song last year, ANYMORE by Jungkey. Check out the LIVE performance they did of it!!! Also, she covered "Who's Your Mama" by JYP on the King of Masked Singers. She's amazing. Actually, anything sung by Whee In is just fine with me... someone hand her a telephone book, I want to hear her sing forever. (for you youngsters who have never seen a telephone book, I'm making a reference to what used to be a common expression: "She sings so beautifully, she could even sing the telephone book.") 💜
Just recently into my feelings watching Wheein KILL the SHIT out this song!! Oh, yes, feeling.. MS WHEEIN IS EVERYTHING!! I just want to dance with listening to this song!! I watch her video like...seriously, any chance I find while at work AND THEN once I start my trek home. Then, as many times as I can handle in the evening. The combination of her vocals, her beautiful and sexy visuals, THE DANCE MOVES/CHOREOGRAPHY...

About the arm thing: i see it as something very simple, and if you watch the MV with eng lyrics I think it makes perfect sense. Wheein is singing about how it is not easy for her to get close to people, to open up, and be able to enter "their hearts", and now she has done this, but the person that she is in a relationship with is not appreciating her, so she is literary singing "I locked myself in you, I'll set me free from you", and that is what she does, she takes out the part where she is locked in, and sets herself free.
Also, look at the dance, the dancers locks wheein in when she sings this line earlier in the MV.
That is atleast my take on it.
And about the guy not appreciating Wheein, it is being shown through the lyrics but also with him not paying attention to her in the MV and perhaps the scen with the glasses could also be her trying to make him "see her better".

if you like this song you should listen to Moderato it's the same kind of song. in both of the songs wheein has helpt produce whrite and has a voice while filming it. she also has a song called anymore. it's a balled but so freaking good.

Actually all members of mamamoo are getting their own mini albums. Hwasa's was first now it's Wheein's turn. And the album colors match the colors of the dresses they wore in the Paint Me M/V
