1. In korea they appreciate this kind of quality in slow and atmospheric songs like the song - with my tears-
2. Wheein in mamamoo has almost the rule of being the breathy one and the layed back voice also she does alot of the backing harmonious in their songs
3.the songs that wheein sang it with this style has more acceptance and success from the audience there
That's why we don't hear alot of the "full sound singing" from her
Wheein is known as queen of Collab because she can blend in to anyone style of singing

I personally love love love her lower breathy low notes. It really gives me goosebumps. Also for the style of singing you prefer I would highly recommend her song anymore ( color live)
also it's unique compared to singers that sing with clarity, etc and it's perfect for ballads and r&b. Minseok has powerful vocals, but he will never be able to sing 25 or Candy as good as Wheein does, and in Love Shot she goes even lower than these 2 songs.
MeloMance never fails to amaze me, very underrated.

This is the second song of the performance. First Wheein does a solo cover of EXO's loveshot. Both in that and this she's using her lower range a lot more than we usually see. Pure speculation, I think she chose to do it because she does spend most of her time in Mamamoo on the high end. In this song I think she liked being the low to his high. I hope you will do other solo performance of the other Mamamoo members. Solar has a couple of recent OSTs on her solarsido channel. Adrenaline and Bluebird that would be good.

The reaction video you guys did for mamamoo was my first reactor video too and I absolutely loved it! So excited that you guys did another reaction video for wheein. I was already blown away when I first heard mamamoo and your analysis and breakdown really helps me to appreciate their vocals even more, the techniques that they use, where and how their voices shine, and how well they blend with each other. It makes me so in awe when you put all these into words to help me appreciate and understand that it’s not easy at all to sing so well like so many talented singers out there hahaha. Wheein’s “anymore” live is great and will give you more of an idea of her voice. She also did this song no more tears by herself live which I prefer cause she didn’t have to worry about blending or holding back a bit to match.

Thank you for another Mamamoo (Wheein) video. I really love the girls and their voices but I can't articulate why as it's very much an emotional connection and I don't know much about the technicalities of being a vocalists. I really appreciate the details you go into, breaking down the techniques, the decisions they make...it helps me to further appreciate their voices from a different perspective.
I hope u'd react more to melomance's performances because he has a great voice as u can see, and sometimes he sounds powerful yet melodic but his expression is so calm that he makes singing looks so easy and effortless lol
please check out wheein's solo ballad "goodbye", it's one of my favorite songs and i think y'all would enjoy reacting to it too! i had to listen to it close to ten times before i stopped crying every time i heard it, wheein really brings across emotion so well in that song.

One thing I realize about wheein is that she doesn’t like to oversing anyone I’m mean it’s good that she letting the other person shine but it’s doesn’t give her time shine
if you want a song where she doesn't use breathy vocals and sings with fuller voice i recommend the song Short Hair in Duet Music Festival from 2015. Wheein and her partner won, and this is 1 year after Mamamoo debut. another song i'll recommend is MAMAMOO WHEEIN (Half Moon) - Who's Your Mama (King Of Masked Singer). she also use fuller voice + raps a verse, She Was Pretty(also from Duet Music Festival), and her solo Butterfly.
Wheein is known for her breathy and r&b vocals. no one can touch her in r&b vocals in Kpop(her solo 25 and Candy cover are her best). from all the Kpop idols, Wheein is the only kpop idol in Korea's top 5 singers. Solar(leader of Mamamoo) said about Wheein's voice: "her voice gives you the feeling of being healed". she is one of the top singers that other singers want to feat/colab with. from the members of Mamamoo she has the most feats/colabs. Park Bom from the biggest female Kpop group : 2ne1(pronounced as 21) made a song as her solo and she changed the song just to have Wheein as feat in the song. even though Solar has the power vocals with clarity and power, can growl, etc she chose Wheein instead.

Melomance is one of my favorite groups in Korean music. The vocalist is Kim Minseok, and the other half is the pianist Donghwan. Minseok is probably one of the best vocalists I've ever heard. You should definitely check out more from Melomance, Minseok is a power vocal and he was definitely holding back to fit Wheein's song and vibe. You should react to BIGMAMA on Dingo music/Killing voice! They are a South Korean vocal girl group who debuted in 2003, unfortunately, they disbanded in 2012 but they've reunited & comeback in 2021.
Glad to hear you say "how you speak is how you sing". That's exactly how I want to sing. Kind of like speaking the melody but holding notes where it fits. Trying to get a feeling that I'm speaking the lyrics and it just happens to be to a melody. I haven't sung much in a while, though, and I've lost a lot of my technique but very resently I've started trying to get back into it. You guys just added to my inspiration to keep at it. Thanks!

I think sometimes the language barrier makes it hard for those that don't speak Korean as to why some songs sound "breathy", "whispery" during parts or soft. It is like this to make the lyrics shine. If you understand the lyrics, it really gives you goosebumps the way they sing it.
agree i love korean ballad songs and i wish i already mastered korean language so that i can feel more when these talented vocalists sing. English translation doesn’t do justice to beautiful songs such as with my tears.

I feel Chase when he talks about trying to not be too breathy for health issues. Im working on that right now. I love singing but a lot of the time my throat ends up feeling kind of sore, which makes me sound a bit off and it puts me off singing. Currently working on it with my voice teacher and speech therapist tho!
I started voice lessons for the same reason! (But classical training). Found out the problem was not even the breath that much. I was singing (and talking) way below my range, from the throat, which was tiring my cords. Apparently it happens to lots of shy people haha Hope you get better!!
i cant agree more to you guys!!! theyre both wonderful! they are doing their part on this duet, and yes i agree that it was unfair to her voice but still she killed it! she still made this song best and i dont know anyone who can do it better. i love hiiiiiissss voice tooo im kinda obsessed too hahaha its so different but in an amazing way!! Yess!! You really need to check on Melomance, they are a very talented duo. My favorite songs are Gift (their most popular songs I believe) and Good Day ( OST from Mr.Sunshine drama). At first they are not so popular, they gain popularity when the vocalist shows up in variety show called I Can See Your Voice years ago and shock the panels with his beautiful voice while singing Brown Eyed-Bit by Bit. Oh, and you must check out their performance on Sugarman 2 while singing 'You'!

This is one om my favorite songs by Wheein it literaly gives me goosebumps everytime she gets to her higher parts *.*...i was really anticipating your reactions when they got to that part :D i think she is a really good support in harmonies... in many parts with Mamamoo she's excellent support for Solar who has a more ''powerfoul'' sound. I don't really know how to describe what i mean xD Like... she knows when to stand out and when to support. Really enjoyed the video! ;) Also i would like to recomend for your pleasure Hwasa's LMM.

Wheein sings with clarity When She Chooses. This was a stylistic choice because this song is about lost love. It’s like she singing to herself about the pain of losing someone she loves quietly alone. She changes from breathy to resonant throughout the song. Melomance is a great voice and I love his talent but he stays with only the same style throughout the song. BTW this is her song not a cover.
You should also react to the other two singers Hynn and Young Tak. They participated this show at the same time. You can find the videos of these two singers at the same channel you found the videos of Whee In Mamamoo and MeloMance. Highly Recommend!!!!!! Especially Endless Love song.
I think Wheein is a good compliment voice for everyone because she has a very wide range and techniques and she actually adjust to who she's singing with, and actually compliment them, not overpower them.
Great video, lovely breakdown and reaction. Small note, Melomance's vocal is Minseok Kim. Minseok is his first name. Kim is a surname in Korea and names are generally written surname first. Surnames tend to be one syllable/shorter too. And common ones are Lee, Kim, Park etc. (Lee and Kim especially get mistaken for first names cos in English, they can be.) 😊
