I doubt you know this, but Louis Tomlinson from One Direction has said in loads of interviews recently that Oasis is his favourite band and has inspired his sound for his upcoming solo album. I know One Direction songs aren't known for deep lyrics, but I think Louis' new solo songs are actually very honest and personal.

The chorus of "The Hype" sounds a lot like "Wonderwall" to me--not exactly, but like a shadow.
"Nice to know my kind..." "You're my wonderwall..." Probably something about the chords, but idk about techical music stuff.

That's the beauty of Oasis...Noel and Liam are incredibly talented and Noel wrote so many beautiful poetic songs yet they are so crass and cuss a lot and they are hilarious.

is in some sense love cooked down to its most basic bits.
To start off I believe this is a self dialogue even though the word we shows up a few times. We refers to the speaker and an imaginary savior. Note how the song is loaded with examples of self limiting beliefs. This song is not about relationships between people, but it is about not reaching self fulfillment because the speaker finds reasons not to do so.
I think they try to purposefully keep the meaning of their songs vague. I remember reading an interview with them where they were asked about the meaning of Champagne Supernova. Specifically the line "slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball" and they said to the thousand people who sing it back to them there's a thousand meanings of it
I think it is that they both save eachother.

I have a theory based on what Oasis said about it being about an imaginary friend. It's like your imaginary self. The view you have of yourself vs who you really are. Like when it says "I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now" could be someone who has low self esteem and the song which is the wonderwall is trying to convince the person that no one thinks as negatively about them as they do about themselves.
Please explain Hang on to Yourself by Palaye Royale. They have a concept album coming out soon that they've been planning for 5+ years

Hey i have a Suggestion for a Band that you could check out: The Faim. I think they are a very impressive Band and should be more popular. I would describe their style of music similar to half alive or idkhbtfm.
