JBL Speaker setup

- I just finished renovating the 4771 speakers, and had to rig them in the studio where I work, to try them out before I bring them home. This has been a project over some time, and finally it plays! The 4771 boxes had it's horn removed, fine for me, as I intended to use the 2360 horn instead. The compression driver for this is 2450. I didn't originally intend to use the 4745 subs, but I got them from a friend, so they are with me here in this setup. Later, at home, the system will have dual 2242 18", but I havent finished the boxes for them yet. I wanted to have a memory from this rig at work, and would like to share it with you. And they: The Audiophile community says Pro audio equipment doesn't sound any good. Total BS that sounds excellent! Long live Pro Audio.
Pro audio (not studio) sounds like ass in stock form, that's a fact, but the transducer quality is there and they can be made into decent sounding living room speakers.
My PA system sound way better that most audiophile stuff I've heard. You're system sounds amazing.
I totally agree with your dig on the audiophile community. But really man how could you ever expect them to respect your critiquing judgment on listening to this sound system from your computer ? Whats up with that ?
It physics larger surface area means less movement equals lower distortion :)

I’m sure this system has energy and “balls”, I’ve used the Altec’s version of a big CD horn with double 15s in a corner horn, so I know what a system like this can do, kick a$$

Frankly it's bit squawky and colored but massive horns and 15" woofers often sound like that.

Sorry, but unfortunately I missed your comment! The speakers are modified 4771, removed the horn and rather used 2360 on top instead. Have also installed 2407 tweeters in each box to deal with the very highest frequencies. Treble, horns and bass are powered by Parasound power amplifiers and the 4745 boxes are powered by Crown XLS2500. The sound from Spotify goes through a convolver from Audiolense, which is also behind the crossover filtering and room correction. The sound card is RME UFX1.

I agree. :-) My goal is a tube amp for the 2360, and maybe for the 2405 tweeters aswell. I haven´t decided any brand yet, but my wet dream is a McIntosh (or two)... :-)
@@rberntse Как вариант, интересны драйвера Radian 950PBBe или 951PBBe. Последний позволяет отказаться от твиттера. Есть мнение, что они звучат как минимум не хуже Jbl 2450. Но диафрагма Be стОит денег.

I wont get into a competion with any body else's gear but my speakers are $55k German horns, one of my amps is $40k Japanese (beginning with K) SET and my digital front end is similar...........and I own JBL DD55000 horns and have heard several other big JBL horn loaded monitors, as well as owning TAD 4003 and Vitavox S2, RCA 9458, Fostex T500MK11 drivers and even the 2360 horns and same series JBL 18" woofers in the video. Enough to say I own some "good" speakers and electronics, apart from the ones I have heard with friends. Big JBL horn loaded speakers and the big 4XXX monitors produce real dynamic life like music. What? JBL fooled the recording studios and live sets for decades??????? I dont think so. Remember I own TAD 4003/TAD 16XXX as well to compare to. Get off your lifeless horse, get in around and in front of a variety of real good gear, loose your deafness and bias and enjoy more music. Your one liner, ludicrous statements are BS we were all told by those who havent been on the journey long enough to know better, and will be called out. Ive said all I will, and no doubt your uneducated ego will draw you back to have 1 more fizzer of a shot.
