The chance of another gorgeous looking man (btw straight as a ruler here) coming to Earth having a pitch perfect voice and that much charisma at the same time? Never gonna happen he was a true once in a life time event and i cant believe i missed him... But very glad my mum introduced me as i love a night of listening to him! THANK YOU ELVIS!! There will never be another xx
My mother saw him for the last time when she was 8 months pregnant with me in 77' She said that film didn't do him justice..to see him in the flesh literally took your breath away..
you had to see him live to understand what this was all about. it was pure magic. few performers could kick ass onstage like elvis...and i don't think anyone was in his league. anyone.
❤ 🎶 "Beautiful 💘 Absolutely Beautiful ; Feelings. Beloved Elvis Presley 💃 an Extraordinary Voice 🎶 and Persona like No Other's.. Magnificence 🏆 ln Abundance. Thanks for Sharing and Enjoy A Delightful Evening..". 🎶 ❤
Paul Simpson was impressed by the Big E’s version of his song. He said that E’s version was the way that the song needed to be performed. Viva the memory and the music of E. Amen and amen. 👍
The power Elvis had in his voice and to be able to belt out songs while making it look effortless, and his pitch and vibrato and everything, was pure perfection. He knew that his ability was purely a gift from God. His devout love of our Lord was precious, though he searched until the day he died for more fulfillment in God. I know he wanted to give more from his life but so many demands were on him and he wouldn't be allowed to leave or change the life, monumental estate, he created. His one and only true love was first, his mother, Priscilla was second. Had someone protected him in the beginning from the inhumane treatment and drugs, he may have still lived. His soul was beautiful and precious.
Love it when he goes for the emotional notes at 2:00 ant at 3:35. JD from the Stamps Quartet who sang with Elvis on stage always encouraged Elvis to" let it out" at certain points in the songs. You see Elvis looking and smiling over at him at 3:35 after Elvis completes the notes.... acknowledging JD. He respected JD a lot.
Elvis's version of Bridge Over Troubled Water is without doubt the best version of anyone who has ever recorded it. Elvis's stunning voice really does the song justice. Elvis the king forever.
Elvis threw for the end zone everytime he did this song. To me it is like some type of intangible energy, God given talent, is connected right to his soul and it comes out in the song.
Elvis Presley sings this song with so much passion emotion spirituality that it's very chilling but still makes you feel good because he's talking about God in this song because that's what truly made Elvis shine God within his soul Elvis knew there was no truer friend than God he had alot of faith in God it never wavered. he strayed a long while but I believe Elvis came back to where he was always destined to be w God in heaven shine on friend I still love a miss you be happy man you deserve it after all you did for us and all you went through here not being happy a loosing what you loved the most your family. but God was always w you walking beside seeing you through you had a powerful source within your soul a heart that source was Jesus Christ I believe in the last year of your life you found that purpose of life you was always searching for and why you were here on earth to seek a find Jesus as your personal savior to serve a worship God as you done singing songs of faith and nobody did it better than Elvis Aron Presley. nobody will ever fill his shoes or ever match his voice.
The absolute dogs bollocks of any live performance of this song. In front of 15,000, in the ongoing history of the world no-one tops this, ever...The pinnacle for me of Elvis live in concert, period.
The man did "covers" better than anyone ( although Cash was great too) he just had a way to keep the integrity of the original artist's version while still making it his. A deft balancing act to be sure. This was really the end of the comeback started in 68. Man was he good!
30 years dead..and people all over the world still love this man...the age of entertainment was introduced in full scale by Elvis i think..wait until the return of the true King..
Starting at the 3:00 min mark especially - it's really hard to believe just how good this is. The Sweets, JD and The Stamps, Kathy Westmorland, TCB band and orchestra - the quality is simply *stunning* - I really think this was the peak of everybody. All it does (for me) is drive home just how bad "pop" musicians are today. If you lived in this time - you experienced something that we'll never experience again. It's just so well done - it's almost not natural. Stunning video.
Seminal. Those that were there that evening are probably still still talking about this today...and telling their children, and their children's children, and...This performance alone is why he still matters.
who was Elvis Presley really what was he a A PRINCE FROM ANOTHER. PLANET WAS HE HEAVEN SENT SO SPIRTUALLY ANNOINTED BY GOD TO TOUCH YOUR HEART A INNER SOUL ELVISTO ME wAS LOVE A KIND HUMBLE SOUL REACHING OUTTO PEOPLE AND SAYING LOVE ME APPRECATEME IM YOUR. . I felt wonderful when he sang 'Bridge over troubled water', even though it was a touch on the dramatic side - but so was the song. When I first heard Elvis perform "Bridge Over Trouble Water" It was unbelievable, and I thought to myself, how the hell can I compete with that?" Paul Simon
Amazing...why do the good die young Elvis, John Lennon, George Harrison, Keith Moon, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix, Kurt Cobain ...ever day I miss Elvis more so sad such talent lost to drugs. I'm sick of seeing written that Elvis was far he was sick with an enlarged heart that pumped ineffectively causing fluid build up he was swollen and blotted he never lost his voice he was amazing then and would still be if he was here today everyday Elvis gains new fans and he's been gone now thirty-four yea
Live in front of 15,000...Seminal. Oft overlooked, but in 1972 (check out the 'On Tour' DVD) he never sounded better. Those in Greensboro that night undoubtedly remember this today..
Although maybe not a creative genius, Elvis seems like he really did put everything into his performances. Some artists have talent but it's like they just phone it in sometimes. Not only did Elvis have the God given vocal talent, but I think He also really cared about giving the best performances possible 100% of the time. There's a lot to be said for that.
Not a creative genius? That's a moronic statement. He's the greatest showman and vocalist in recorded human history. Elvis was born with more creativity than anybody else before or since his existence.
+CooManTunes I don't think that was his strong point. You're right that he was one of the best vocalists of all time and he was also one of the best live entertainers of all time, but he did a lot of covers etc. and he wasn't some sort of musical genius or prolific songwriter. He would take songs written by others and perform them better than anyone else.
(Yawwwn) That's a simpletons analysis. Songwriting is entirely unnecessary when you're born with the greatest voice, looks, and personality in the history of mankind. Elvis was the 'Big Bang' of modern popular culture. It all starts with him, and all the best say so. He's the King for many reasons.
Elvis creativity was his performances and very unique way of singing. If he was a great song writer then we may not have the great performer because there simply might not be any space for the performances.
Forget Josinho1989's upload of this performance. Since the audio is sped up, everything sounds unnaturally high pitched. THIS video has the original audio.
@clskmstg I wouild say this thing really kicks in to high gear around the 2:00 mark. Elvis's voice is amazing, and the arrangement of the brass is incredible. At the beginning, when it's softer and slower, it's starting to build to a climax with the piano doing some remarkable things. All in all, this is an incredible treatment of a song we all know, but it's so much more exciting than the original.
Magnifique
No one comes close to the majesty of Elvis…The GOAT!

no one is nowadays able to put all himself into a song like he did... amazing!
Elvis threw for the end zone everytime he did this song. To me it is like some type of intangible energy, God given talent, is connected right to his soul and it comes out in the song.
Understand your words, totally!!!
The way he smiles and gets off, on the 2nd half, is pure joy too watch!!!
He's anointed singing this. It's still him, but something is being emitted out of him that is devine.

Sorry if I offend anyone with the language, he was the best FUCKING entertainer ever!
Amen brother!!
God damn the horns are amazing in this one
how can someone talk about the music around the world without talking about Elvis!?
Elvis could sing the phone book and it'd still be a masterpiece.
Bravo!, viva el Rey!
Best singer ever to live
El vis único sobrenatidolo de outro planeta faz pura magia
This is for you, You know why. Nothing that comes through the doors of life will stop me. Nothing. I love you always.
The King !
I can't decide which one is better this one or the 1970's "Thats' the way it is" version . both brilliant.

Elvis gets criticised for not writing his songs. De Niro didn't write any of the movies he was in. Does that mean he isn't a great actor?
Elvis creativity was his performances and very unique way of singing. If he was a great song writer then we may not have the great performer because there simply might not be any space for the performances.
Elvis divino Rey Criollo rey del universo
Jesus man! Every body most love this song my Fav 4 ever
