@@nicholssawmillandmore why dont you save all these big logs. That will pay for the mod in itself. In more wood not chips !! When you have 2-4 wks of steady big logs to cut. That should cover a top saw??put it on and cut the big log stash!!
I too hate to see waste in the sawing process but everything considered he did a great job maximizing the yield taking into consideration the limitations of the saw.
Actually I was just asking them to get a bd out of vibrating conveyor that had fell in. But I can see why it looked like I might have been doing that. But I wasn't.
Nice wide cuts. !!now if you can sticker and dry them flat. Wow!!
Thanks!
Very Interesting log job 👍👍
Thanks
I love the sound of the saw
Awesome! Thanks!
Great job on that stop sign!
Thanks
Time for an overhead blade. That pine is beautiful, wouldn’t want to waste it.
Maybe one day. Thanks
I said that long ago and a jackass said shit to me!! Yes a overhead will eliminate all this fxxxcking around and wasting a good logs potential $$$
Large logs are tough sawing but you did a fine job!
They can be. Thanks
Awesome work
Thanks
This video has sparked my curiosity even further.
Thanks
Very interesting, a large log like that it's the only way to handle it still better than a band mill
Thank-you. I do the best I can with what I have. Thanks again.
nice sawing ty
Thanks!
good job sawing Jason.
Thanks!
Wow, a knotless tree.
Crazy! Right!

Great job selling, but who are the two guys in back playing pocket pool?
Maybe the stacker. Will need to rewatch it.
That first log was a nice one indeed and the lumber hat came off didn't look bad at all. What is going to be done with it?
The only immediate sale we had was for pallets
Do you work off of a "cut" list or just do all random? Do you send some thru a resaw? Nice log, good video! Also nice merch!
Sometimes we do. And any resawing we do on one of the band mills . Thanks again for watching.
Thank God for edgers
That's for sure
What size saw are you running and who’s your mill made by.
52 inch saw. Edmiston carriage, Helle cab and setworks, and mellot log turner.
Does the side lumber also go to make pallets?
On pine yes mostly unless we have a special order.
What about a big bandsaw so you can cut up to 48” logs??
I'm sticking with what I've got and maybe put a top saw in one day.

My father had a top saw and that was 50 years ago
That's awesome, maybe I'll get one sometime.
Another nasty log brought into submission, Jason.
Bill
Thanks Bill. Thanks for always watching.
How come you didn’t have a top saw it would be a lot faster
We just don't.
Seems a waste of a beautiful piece of wood having to whittle it down to a size it can be cut into boards.
No waste really. All of the wood has a good home.
What a shame that you had no top saw and/or too small of a blade. Too much waste!
Maybe so.
I too hate to see waste in the sawing process but everything considered he did a great job maximizing the yield taking into consideration the limitations of the saw.
Thank-you.
He needs a taller blade.
Thanks!
Time out to yell at the hired help for talking too much. 😮
Actually I was just asking them to get a bd out of vibrating conveyor that had fell in. But I can see why it looked like I might have been doing that. But I wasn't.
Too much waste in the beginning cuts, let alnone time. Wouldn’t work for me.
It works for me and I work for myself so ultimately I believe it's ok.
@@nicholssawmillandmorethat’s true.
How you cut that big log is a joke. You wasted so much of it. All those beveled cuts after you got into good wood too are waste
Sorry
Thank you for saying that. Why buy that many board feet of log if the mill is just making firewood?
Time to get a camera man with a steady hand, or a stand, or a mount of some kind,.
otherwise good content.
We're happy with what we have now. Sometimes that's the smarter play to make in my opinion. Thanks for the suggestions though.
camera person did a great job.
Nothing wrong with the camera man (woman).
nice sawing ty
Thanks!
