You have no idea how attached to turtles/tortoises you can get. I raised him since he was a little one just a few days old. I love you Franklin and will miss you for ever. They can be amazing pets without there own personalities . If you get them the upkeep is cheap but the environment they need is not so be prepared.
I had a leopard tortoise (think it’s the same species as in the video) that we raised from like a month old until she turned about 8 or 9 where she started having issues with her reproductive organs. We took her to the vet for a surgery and she never woke up. Was very sad. We decided to bury her in a large plant pot with a tree growing in it so we could remember her with the tree.
I believe that's a box turtle. They are actually closer to pond turtles than tortoises. They are good swimmers, can submerge, and feed under water. They need plenty of water, and do like to immerse.
