IV. The Allegretto 17:27. I can envision Santa's grotto, with the elves building the toys, etc. As it goes on Santa arrives, and the reindeer, etc. It's fun. Someone should do a Cartoon, like The Snowman with the music.
In my opinion the most incredible thing about this piece is the coda of the last movement, starting at 30:54. This coda is itself a movement in miniature with a rondò form! What an immortal genius he was.

An early draft of Symphony no.40 indicates that he originally intended for that work to include four horns as well until he changed his mind and decided to use two horns in two different keys. The famous Gran Partita for twelve winds and double bass also uses for horns, as does the overture to Betulia Liberata, an aria from Il re pastore, and several numbers in Idomeneo. You also need four horns to perform Don Giovanni: two onstage and two in the pit. And then there’s the Notturno for four orchestras, which requires eight horns. But even among all those works this Divertimento stands out. It’s his only example of writing for an obbligato quartet of horns with solo passages, anticipating Schumann’s Konzertstuck by 77 years!
The score is correct. The dotted quarter notes are 2nd beat quarter note tied to 1st eight note 3rd beat followed by 2nd eight note 3rd beat, then 2 eight notes 4th beat.

At 4:42, why do the first and second violins have dotted quarter-notes in the 4th measure? They should be regular quarter notes.
The score is correct. The dotted quarter notes are 2nd beat quarter note tied to 1st eight note 3rd beat followed by 2nd eight note 3rd beat, then 2 eight notes 4th beat.
