I am not increasing daily. But, by the mercy of Christ, I have seen increase over time. I am not the same man I was when I was Baptised. Not outwardly, but in my prayer life and repentance. There are days of decrease. There are times of stumbling and "returning to the vomit". However, Holy Orthodoxy and the life of the Church has given me so many ways to grow in faith and repentance where even a little effort still produces results.
I am not orthodox Christian, but I am Christian. I have really grown to appreciate and understand these videos posted. I don't get to hear the Truth spoken so plainly. My denomination has a very pale teaching. Very very good Father, I feel my understanding of Christ and my relationship growing from the teaching. Thank You.
The words that come out of Eastern Orthodoxy on TH-cam is nothing short of profound. The Gospel, messages and deeds from the TH-cam Orthodoxy community has impacted my worldview and deepened my relationship with Christ. I'm ready to move from Catholicism to Orthodoxy. I am trying father . Trying to make my prayers more focused. Trying to sin less. Trying to learn more. Trying to love more, trying to be better trying to donate more . Trying to help the colleges, trying to help more ppl in need . I am so far away from a saint and I feel and know I am not worthy of the gift of orthodoxy he has blessed me. Very encouraging, thank you. My daughter just graduated Hope College in Holland, Michigan. It's ecumenical, so maybe that's not a kind of college you mean. But the school is excellent, and has a very Christian "Hope Forward" payment program, parents may look into. We were able to pay for her with no debt, glory to God, and she is now applying to medical schools to enter that field, a strong woman with a beautiful faith. Anyway, increase. That's a good thing to meditate upon🙏

I'm RC and know in my heart I'm to covert to Orthodoxy. I don't know if I will be welcome in any of the churches in my area. I'm a 54 year old recovered addict I was homeless for three years starting at 49 and I'm afraid the churches will think badly of me. I live in Knoxville any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I was homeless many years ago and on drugs. Going to orthodoxy is the best thing. Don’t worry about what other thinks or don’t. Worry about what God thinks and doesn’t . Pray to God with your soul that he will lead you to the right Orthodox church and then trust God and Go. He will prepare the way for you. He will send his holy angels to assist you. I promise .
Yes i do . And each day i come closer to the realization that death is the greatest relief, our exodus . And i come to realization how weak of a christian i am . Although i did learn that as long as i love , i will be on the side of christ
It is both our greatest relief and something we need to be utterly prepared for. Do not hope for death to come even a moment too soon. We are all so weak but we must struggle and find joy and a way to love others in the little moments while we still live and breathe. Do not despair over the hardships of this life.

I am a Protestant but more importantly I am a Christian. I have accepted Christ and I have been baptized and confirmed. I do not think that I am more shallow than an Orthodox. Christian. I believe we are brothers and I see no need to vilify my Christian Brothers.
@@guvnc1 Nobody is villifying you. There is truth in protestant sects of Christianity. We love you and don’t doubt that there are sincere people doing their best to live godly lives and follow Christ in many protestant churches. But no protestant church has the fullness of the faith like Orthodoxy does. And in order to best preserve the church and keep people from falling into error and sin we must remain distinct and keep people from thinking we are keeping to the same faith because we simply are not.
@guvnc1 I was a devout Presbyterian and Calvinist for 33 years. I am now Orthodox and it was the best decision I ever made. Everything Spike said is exactly why I became Orthodox.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I felt like my ascent towards God had stalled as of late. I've been a catechumen for about a year now and have had my ups and downs. Great Lent and Holy Week (my first) were amazing and I really felt myself growing closer to God. But a couple of days ago I felt an odd lack of zeal and last night, I had a very carnal dream. It actually shocked me awake and I was able to jump right into prayer. But I do think I've gotten too comfortable lately and need to turn up the heat.
In Romania, the politicians can give you a quick and uncalled for bath into humility...for starters. The Grace of God, that comes from the monasteries, from the holy relics, from monks with holy lives, from the land blessed with so many martirs, from people with pure hearts, the countless blessings of milenia of church services and sacraments, all that Grace fills up your soul that starts longing for God...
It would be so great to have Christian schools. I was looking for my children at the time and there are two or three in entire NYC. While many Catholic with incredible high tuition. I am aware of only one Christian Orthodox college in San Diego. It was not accredited when my older son was admitting. Few years ago I was looking for Christian Orthodox psychologist for my younger son and there are none. They are listed on some Greek Orthodox site but in reality they do not exist. Here in New York there are plenty of great psychologists but when looking dipper on them some are propagating pure Buddhism, reiki etc. Now my older son is taking his master in psychology with religion orientation. Unfortunately it is only available in Fordham university which is religious university but doesn’t offer pure Christian orthodox view. When you are speaking of numbers, it would be great to understand how many Orthodox Christians are in America and that would give great perspective for forming the schools and health care in future. But I guess it is something that Bishops suppose to approve if there is initiative.
Fr. Josiah, hope you’re doing well. Would you consider doing an episode of Torahistic Christianity? It’s a relatively new group, but their numbers are growing. From what I gather, they follow Mosaic laws, but reject Talmudic dialogue on those laws. They have used this to argue that Christ is in fact not God, but instead just a prophet and solely our Lord. Would be very helpful as this movement is starting to really gain traction.
If we replaced money with Jesus that is the way Jesus wanted us to live. We are motivated to get to work for our love for Christ, we should not make any decisions or make any actions to earn money but to earn Christ. We are to be his liking. Jesus comes first, everything else comes second. That is how we should live our lives, to be as motivated to keep on living for the seeking and loving of Christ as people today are to seek money and materlialism. If you put this in your mind, Jesus comes first everything else comes second you will start to think differently
Read beautiful healing scripture. Look to how God is all knowing, all seeing. He makes straight your path, he is the light in the darkness, he comforts your soul. Seek him and not your fears. He will guide you, strengthen you and heal you. Give him your mind, renew your mind with his thoughts, shut the door to the dark thoughts. @katiejo1095 I thank you. I have a sleep disorder. I regularly go days without sleep. I become ill due to lack of sleep. Its horrific, and has been happening since March 2019 when my wife passed from cancer age 41. There seems to be no end.

And it can indeed induce a sense of insanity, of inability to function. Yet, take hope. You still do have a right mind that seeks help from others, for allowing the condition to isolate you is a downward path. Seek the Orthodox Church; stay in contact if you are already Orthodox. Go to as many services as you are able, for prayer is indeed powerful to heal, especially among those who can pray with you. Medicos may have some help for bodily disarray, but the Church has help for body and soul. I have the help of both, but the Church is holistic, and Christ is the Great Physician. You have my prayers for your complete health. Personal loss can bring destructive traumas that can attack sleep. But being with others who care can give help that reaches the deepest wounds. God bless you always. He is Pure Love, all Love, all the time, and seeks our healing. Seek Him. He is the Only Good One.
Don't listen to LemonJuice516, who is not a doctor. By all means, see a doctor if you have a mind to, and if you haven't already. But doctors can do only so much for medical conditions. I have gone years with poor sleep, and the doctors have done what they can for me, and the condition is improved but not cured. But Christ is the Great Healer of All. With a doctor or not, you should continue to pray. I have, and what doctors have not done, Christ can heal. He has helped me beyond the reach of medicine.
@LemonJuice516 Been to doctors the past 5 years. Nothing helped. I have actually found a solution, or I found the problem just a few days after I wrote that comment; vitamin D supplements were causing insomnia. Thank god for Reddit, it was quite by accident that I found posts by people experiencing the same thing, often for much longer than I. I now get around 7 hours per night, which is a huge improvement for me, starting to feel human again. Supplememts in the trash. Thanks for your comment.
Here is an honest question: If we are not to have anything to do with schools that ban the name of Jesus how are we able to teach them the ways of Jesus? For example, my wife works for a Christian non profit that works with a lot of public schools in the area. They have a community center where they welcome the students and show Jesus to them. Many of the schools are aware of this and the programs that are offered to these students. But perhaps you mean something different? I would not say Jesus's name is ban at those schools necessarily, but they are not Christian schools. I'm trying to understand., thank you.
I know it's not related to this video but does anyone have advice for my dad on how to refuse his job making him raise a gay pride flag above his school he works at starting in June. We live in norcal and he's a custodian at an adult education school. God bless.

Hypothetically, some other custodian from another school in the town could come over and do it or someone else who works at his school but that's not very logistically agreeable to them. All the other custodians have there own routines at their own schools ya know?

@LemonJuice516 Been to doctors the past 5 years. Nothing helped. I have actually found a solution, or I found the problem just a few days after I wrote that comment; vitamin D supplements were causing insomnia. Thank god for Reddit, it was quite by accident that I found posts by people experiencing the same thing, often for much longer than I. I now get around 7 hours per night, which is a huge improvement for me, starting to feel human again. Supplememts in the trash. Thanks for your comment.
Here is an honest question: If we are not to have anything to do with schools that ban the name of Jesus how are we able to teach them the ways of Jesus? For example, my wife works for a Christian non profit that works with a lot of public schools in the area. They have a community center where they welcome the students and show Jesus to them. Many of the schools are aware of this and the programs that are offered to these students. But perhaps you mean something different? I would not say Jesus's name is ban at those schools necessarily, but they are not Christian schools. I'm trying to understand., thank you.

I know it's not related to this video but does anyone have advice for my dad on how to refuse his job making him raise a gay pride flag above his school he works at starting in June. We live in norcal and he's a custodian at an adult education school. God bless.

@@chance2756 He's the only one at his school and it's his job to raise the flags in the morning. Hypothetically, some other custodian from another school in the town could come over and do it or someone else who works at his school but that's not very logistically agreeable to them. All the other custodians have there own routines at their own schools ya know?

I'm not a KJV only guy, but I do believe that the difference between the Textus Receptus and the Eclectic text is significant in Romans 8:1, and elsewhere. I believe the Jews corrupted the Masoretic, and that greatly explains why, in many places where Paul quotes the Septuagint, the Masoretic differs where Paul quotes the TaNaK.
