Nice upgrades. I use Traxxas batteries still with all my upgrades like max 6 in my sledge and my upgrades Xmaxx. I hear everybody say there batteries are not good but they always do me right and last a long time even with the bigger motors and esc. I don’t much like the Traxxas plugs but I buy the 4s esc plugs and they work pretty good. Most batteries say they have a 100c rating are not really that much anyway so the Traxxas 25c to 50c burst batteries work fine for me in case anybody was wondering I guess. Lol
We have found traxxas okay. They are not cheap but comparable to similar price batteries, hate the traxxas connector. We use icharger for charging it and discharging
800kv is too much for when we race them. Best option is the sensored versions which we have tested on film . They are excellent. Very smooth but loads of power
It's crazy how nimble they are for such big goofy monster trucks, lol. I would use the vivton motor mount as it supports the motor at both ends. I have never used a fan on my Max 5 combo. They don't get hot at all when geared right, The 800kv should run nice and cool.
I seen alot of stock xmaxx motors with the rotor tore up including mine unfortunately. I'm thinking it must be a case of not checking motor bearings enough, plus it could be the bearings just aren't the quality they should be.
@@TeamRC3D oh ok maybe a bit of the kevlar wrap let go and than got caught and things went to shit from there. I don't know but to buy a stock xmaxx motor in Canada it's just over 400 dollars with tax and everything. Your paying that kind of motor you should have guaranteed 4 years out of the thing imo. As long as it wasn't extremely abused by driving through a pond or somthing but in general 4 years min IMO
Who would have thought by butting a 50% bigger motor, with loads more torque, that was build for a true fifth scale vehicles, would strip the gears on an Xmaxx that is designed as a 1/6th scale truck?? Just get the Max 6 ESC with their 1200 KV motor and you are good to go.
Congrats on 1000 subs.
Thanks, feels like it’s a nice achievement

Hi, can you post the link of the new gears (Pinion and spur)?
Great job! I just subscribed to your channel. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the sub!
Yep. Same motor and esc i have. Hobby mAx5 and the 800kv motor has lots of power 🔥🔥
New gears are on there way!
What is the tooth count on the spur and pinion?
25/30 from memory
Do you have a link to motor mount?
It was just a cheap one off ebay!
Would you say the Max 5 and 800KV are too much for the Xmaxx? Or would I be happy with a Max 6 and 1100KV?

Looking forward to finally giving it a proper run
Are those duratrax tyres on X-maxx.
The hobby wing had definitely made the X-maxx beast but Also more prone to damages
No, they are Pro-Line Badlands MX57's 👍🏼

I checked bearings when I stripped in down and they felt okay. Just thinking it the Traxxas electrics curse!

They are very expensive - hence we have gone down Hobbywing route!
Your gear mesh was way to tight, thats why the pinion died, but nice upgrade (way overkill thoe) 😊
May have appeared that way but it was meshed fine.

The stock xmaxx driveline gears were fine, it was the aftermarket pinion and spur that didn’t
That cush drive is gonna be needed u gonna blow yr diff gear asap
Haven't blown up and gears in it to date!!
