That is a gorgeous bathroom. A shower would be great, but the bidet and bathtub with a beautiful view out the window are not things that I would tear out of my house.
Mill your own wood. I dont know how it is in Canada but lumber prices in the US have been going up like crazy. A 2x4 is over double what it was a year ago

We lived on 35 acres, surrounded by 250 acres of forrests and wildlife, no neighbors. We put a cattle gate and a security system that farmers use...bell chime rings at house anytime someone rides or walks onto land. Tractor Supply or any farm supply store can help you get set up.

You should check into it and Opossums are your BEST FRIENDS out there for all sorts of Pests please help them thrive and encourage them to be around because they won’t harm your Home or Property only protect you and your Family especially against Ticks! Rip the deck off & build a new one & this house could be gorgeous ! It's not bad at all inside - even has a fairly modern kitchen. But no doubt you are a 2022 man & your wife wants "everything" she sees in House Beautiful ! I could move into that house as-is & be perfectly happy once the chimney etc was made safe ! A lovely property - get yourself a nice rider-mower - things will look better instantly ! Have fun !
Instead of "firewood" think of making a contract with a select timbering company...they agree with you on which trees get timbered and pay very well...you could make 20-50 thousand or more with large hardwood trees! You could also get a "trade" going, with getting more seasoned, kiln dried hardwood floors for your home, while they harvest your hardwood trees. They do timbering and you stll get left over limbs, deadwood trees, for firewood, a new great lake view, plus a big fat check! Just have to check what Division of Natural Resources regulations are...sometimes you cannot take trees down by shoreline because the trees roots help shoreline from quick errosion. The DNR can give you names of timber harvesting companies that buy timber and do good work. The DNR can give you contact info and guidelines of how to get tax deductions on your property too, offer you free saplings to plant, and if you are planting trees, wildlife foliage, etc....it is considered agricultual farming, so lower taxes than residential land. So, good to talk with DNR rangers, just for all the knowledge they have to share.
Canada is such an amazing place. I hope it stays the way it is and not a future mecca for the wealthy to ruin. If that lake was in the US, it would be surrounded by expensive houses. Congrats on that Swiss property! That guy is a friggin genius!!!! It really says something for a couple from Switzerland to come all the way over to Canada. I might even consider it. You must be over the moon 🌙 with your lifetime property. It’s got so much potential not just for living in but making a good income. Have a considered it’s most valuable asset the lake? With so much water frontage it’s possible to clear an area away from your house to either develop for an RV park or log cabins and either pontoons for kayaking or even a beach 🏖 Maybe you want complete privacy or given the water frontage your home would still be completely private. The rest of the exterior of the house will probably buff right out. If the siding is bad, just get Hardiplank. Subscribed. I’m new to the channel, and see that this is a year old, so you probably have the deck replaced by now. I’ll check newer videos.

Get your four or five goats make sure the property is well fenced in or just trim them to stay you can do that you’ll never have to buy your glass grass again

Your not going to live in that are you"?? It was owned by a bikie gang...and there was grease all over the floorboards and everything back in the day!! A bit of elbow grease...a lot of money and 30 years later its now worth $1m AU !! LOL!! So yeah I know your probably not worried about property value!! And I won't lie to you...and now seeing this video is already 10 months old you've probably had your good days and bad days already!! But I can see your vision!! :-)!!
That much land to cut your gonna need a big commercial mower with bat wings , the kind you see cutting on the highways across america .... man u have a great piece of acreage congrats on the score. The lake would be a place to have a nice cabin near to walk out back door and dive in . Can't wait to see what your going to do next on the property.......

On a chimmely they can usually rebuild them, they usually remove it down to the good brick and then recement it back to the original shape.
