I remember reading the book. Manchee’s death was the saddest part because in the book he had a voice so Todd could talk to him. Manchee had the cutest personality so his death was heartbreaking. He also sacrificed himself for Todd in the book

But I still remember exactly how Heartbreaking that part of the First Book was and how Sad, Disappointed,
and just how angry I was that they had killed off Manchee so early in the Story and how brutally it all went down. He could've really been a Good Asset to the rest of the Story imo...

It makes sense that Prentiss town went to shit, literally all the men have the equivalent of severe schizophrenia and psychosis to an extreme degree with no source of medication or solace. It creates a realistic situation for mass hysteria where one group of the society is completely mentally vulnerable and ill whilst the other group is completely fine, that sorta divide can easily trigger a "its Us or Them" mentality.

I loved this Trilogy, Todd and Manchee reminded me of Me & My Dog.
This was Hands Down my Favorite Book, (or 3 Books really...)
in the World when I found it in Middle School,
and it still remains my Favorite to this Day!

Hopefully there’s a sequel. Seems like there was a lot of potential in developing the plot with the native aliens. A good twist at the end would have had the one from earlier returning at the end to impact the final fight scene.

Dude I love the book series. The book series consists of 3 books and the entire series is called the Chaos Walking series. It taught me so much about perseverance and I encourage everyone to read it. :)

As someone with ADHD, with the thoughts I had as a teen my ass would have been ‘Salem Witch Trialed’ to death, then killed to death for a second time. I don’t mean to say I’d act on those bubbles-they are in-fact only thoughts of course-but the idea that there is no filter to hide the multitude of ideas that go through our heads’ would certainly freak anyone out if they aren’t accustomed to absolute raw human impulsive thinking. This movie makes me glad that humans have the inconvenience of spewing only one thought at a time through their mouths after choosing the loudest idea in their mind.

I watched this movie in theaters and read the book. It’s my favorite series of all time; the characters and story are amazing and the philosophical aspect is so interesting.
I haven't even watched this movie but I cried when the dog got killed. Watching him see his own memories of his loyal dog broke me.....

This reminds me of another book series (can't remember what it was called). Distant future, humans have settled on a distant planet, and a strange force makes your thoughts and fears tangible. I vaguely remember that there was a character who was apparently immortal, who was one of the first settlers from thousands of years earlier... can not remember what it was called.
Another comment mentioned the movie is based on a book series. Maybe it is the same? The series is called Chaos Walking, just like the movie.

It depends on the day! Sometimes I nail most of it in one go. Sometimes I get tongue tied and have to do multiple takes on lots of lines. Either way, I do some editing afterwards 🙂

I love these types of movies where humans are able to move to other planets.
Girl spends her whole life in space, yet some how manages to ride a Bike as if she were born on it wtf. She didn't even stall it, not once. And her balance... for a beginner on a new planet with different gravity, now that's just too much to swallow.
Surely a plot hole lol, in the book she never rode a bike, neither did Todd with the horse
