@@ciceroissad4821 I was thinking the same thing. The Matrix only has a "happy ending" if one doesn't consider anything past the first movie. Admittedly that was the original intention, but it has expanded past that point. At the point of the last movie, at best it is a "neutral ending". Maybe the new movie will change that.

Due to the ending being mostly open to interpretation, I would assume he and Adam went on to make a successful startup that would end up uniting both worlds.
Interpretation?
Bob went on to become the two world's most successful flying male supermodel after applying the anti aging cream and his own flight juice while also designing fantastic other matter clothing that was also cheap and affordable for the masses. His pp also got bigger, but not too big, as a side effect of all these experimental substances.

I stopped watching this recap 30 secs in and looked up the movie to go watch it, currently on Prime. It was really enjoyable plus it had a great happy ending, something we don't see anymore now a days.

I ran across this movie a couple of years ago on youtube. I first looked up that it had poor reviews but watched it anyway. I actually love the film, and the cinematography was amazing. I have watched it over and over many times, also such a romantic film. I don't care what the critics say!

For all my fellow weebs saying this is a Patema Inverted rip off, it is not. This movie was released 2012. The anime film released in 2013 as a 4 part series and in 2014 as a full movie. If any copying was done, Upside Down can rightfully claim to be the original. Let us praise anime all we want but please don't put other genres down and appreciate them as well. Its embarrassing.
Both UPSIDE DOWN and PATEMA INVERTED is a great movie, both shared the same director.
Everyone stares each other by looking up at the sky in UPSIDE DOWN, but in PATEMA INVERTED they looking down to greet each other.

this was such a cool setting, concept and world building, not to mention the incredible visuals, all marginalized by a mediocre love story...
I ve watched the full movie but I also thought it wasn't that great story wise. I felt like the movie had no depth to it, maybe too much time wasted explaining the physics and the setting that there was no time left for the characters/plot
There is a great movie called Patema Inverted which is about the same concept, just a bit different

@@mx.n.3682 Yes I thought so too at first. Hadn't heard of the live action movie before this video, but looked it up a bit and couldn't find any connection between the movies. Patema does go into more depth about the different gravity concept though, and also has some nice twists, so I like it more :p

Bob is the MVP, my man WAS ONE LOYAL FRIEND. Even though Adam got him fired, bob still worked hard and helped out his friend and millions of others.
The movie is about perspective. You are told at the start that the "up top" and "down below" is separated and different, but as it goes on you start to realise that "up top" and "down below" is no different from the other. The full movie is very good, I recommend watching it.

There's already an anime with this dual-gravity concept, but the plot is different. It's called Sakasama no Patema (Inverted Patema in english, I guess).

That's because it's more about the concept of the poor being "beneath them". It's a literal/metaphorical adaption of an upper and lower class.

That one scene with the double gravity basketball is so cool! Just imagine being able to jump between courts for a triple backflip slam dunk!

I’m actually really surprised with how bob was and he still treated Adam like a true real friend and they were different as in for gravities and lives differently and he got fired but yet still was ok with it and wanted to still help him

pretty close to this would be circular tube that is big to house people and put it into outer space where it will spin creating gravity and I guess you can call it colony ship or spaceship and idk how to explain it but you can see it in a disaster documentary called Escape From Earth.
Teo planets that close eould just pull into each other and form one bigger planet. A colony floating in outer space would probably make this possible, but the differing orientations would cause unease to a lot of people so better stick to one ground point
