Too many to count, but I find that the games I play alone and feel like I "discover" have a sense of wonder and awe to them. Especially games like One Shot. The feeling that you're embarking on a personal, quiet journey that only you will ever know is a really special one, but games like that tend to take a lot of patience to work through, so if you ever get the time, the Mario RPGs, moon, Dredge, or One Shot all come as major recommendations, and I'd say they all influenced me in one way or another, but the game that did it the most is Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. That game....man everything from the writing to the gameplay hooked me. If you like how mother 3 plays, you'll like the Mario RPGs
I really gotta play Night in the Woods one of these days. Your account of it reminds me of how i enjoyed DDLC but couldnt get back into it. How it hit me hard in a time where i felt the most isolated

If I had to narrow it down to one game it would have to be Outer Wilds. I have never played anything like it and I’ve got a feeling it might stay that way for a long time. If you haven’t played it yet, do yourself a favour and give it a go and do it blind. Trust me, don’t look up *anything*. It’s the kind of game you can only play once and every spoiler will irrevocably lessen your experience.

I think one of the games that have become the starting point of my self discovery and the main pillar of who I am right now is "Va-11-Hall-A". It's a visual novel game that made me realize about my queer identity and being more open minded at a time where I was a right wing extremist-
So it's certainly special, sorry for the rant lmao but I love that game, try it out
