- These are undoubtedly the best bosses in the "Banjo-Kazooie" franchise! Though it hasn’t seen as many entries as other gaming giants, the “Banjo-Kazooie” games have featured their own buffet of big and bad bosses. Whether it be their personality, challenge, or overall presentation, these are the ten that have stuck with us all these years later. Our list includes Mr. Patch from "Banjo-Tooie" (2000) and "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts" (2008), Conga the Ape from "Banjo-Kazooie" (1998), Lord Woo Fak Fak from "Banjo-Tooie" (2000), Gruntilda & Piddles the Cat from "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts" (2008), and more! If a new Banjo-Kazooie game gets announced for it's 25th Anniversary in 2023 and have Grant Kirkhope composing the soundtrack, I would definitely but it right away!
Fun fact: The name for Lord Woo Fak Fak came from an engineer at Rare who had a reputation of his colorful vocabulary and always say "Woo!" after figuring out a problem
Fighting Gruntilda in the first game was tough, even with all the power-ups.
Such a genius epic battle because it combines all the moves you learn in mutual phases
That didn't hurt, I feel no pain, Grunty's back to fight again!
@@Matanumi I agree. I like final bosses that tests you on everything you've learned. A hard boss, but a very splendid final boss battle. 😊

I was like 16 finding that out i was slow lol I assumed you’d get hit with that message when u tried to leave the world transformed 🤦🏽♂️😅

@@aidantrautsch327 Yes. Very sad. But that might change in the future. I hope that is the case.
@@aidantrautsch327 Banjo was never met to continue. The original intention for Rare is to create an adventure game called Project Dream on the SNES, but it was moved to the N 64, it wasn't working for some reason. Mostly like because realistic games can be difficult to work on N 64, such as Golden Eye. So Project Dream became Banjo Kazooie.
However now that the N 64 era has ended, Rare no longer needs the Banjo and Kazooie. Why, DK 64. People did not like the backtracking of that game, and while Banjo Tooie's backtracking isn't as bad. Rare might be worried that another Banjo game would suffer the same problems as DK 64 if not worse. It's sad but it's true, some of the greatest games exists because of hardware limitations.
The good news is collecting platformers are still a thing in indie games.
Love that this is mostly a Banjo Tooie list. But a few Nuts and Bolts and Kazooie bosses made the cut.
Because tooie for all it's faults did some things amazingly well... bosses was one of em.

I SO need a new Banjo-Kazooie game!!! Or maybe Tooty trying to save Banjo with a female friend of hers, ANYTHING goes! This Universe, I love it so much!! Except for Nuts n Bolts, I'll never touch it
@Alex Lucifer I recommend Hat in Time it's inspired by Banjo Kazooie.
@Alex Lucifer Since Gregg Mayles wasn't involved in the making of Yooka-Laylee, that probably why. Hat in Time works because its a mix of Banjo Kazooie and Psychonauts.

We haven't heard from Tooty in a while.
Nuts n bolts had its own charm. Appalling direction for the series but enjoyable enough experience.

What we wouldn't give to replay Banjo-Kazooie once more even without the NSO membership. And especially Banjo-Tooie if it ever became available.

Fun fact about Lord Woo fak fak: he’s named after a developer of the game, Paul Machacek, who would swear when he encountered bugs and exclaim “woo!” when they were fixed.

It’s crazy that I played both the first and second games but I can never beat the games cuz they were soooo long and I would get lost to do what I needed to do and that was before the internet where I can’t even get help from TH-cam
I wish Banjo Kazooie levels like Gobi’s Valley, Freezezy Peak, and Mad Monster Mansion have creative and memorable bosses of their own.
Pretty much every level in the first game. I find some of the casual bosses like the green crabs in Clanker's Cavern not only to be easy but also lame.

Yep. Gruntilda in my opinion is THE Boss for the Banjo series and not just for obvious reasons. Gruntilda is just so iconic! Truly a worthy villainess! 😊
Also a little fun fact about targitzan: based on what I've seen his self destruct is either has insanely low range or can't hurt you in the slightest so in that case the god of target isn't taking you down with him

@@hack9210 According to Rare the original plan for Banjo Threeie was two ideas. One was a remake of the first game, but also acknowledge the fact that it's a remake. However they started to second guess themselves and said this might be too difficult.
The other features Banjo and Gruntilda in a competition. The initial concept was a platform game wherein an AI-controlled Gruntilda would interfere with the player's progress. However Rare couldn't get the Grunty AI to work well, so it was canceled.
Nuts and Bolts is plan C, because Rare founder Tim Stamper was a fan of Lego. In other words Rare already tried to make another traditional Banjo game and failed.
Sadly their right, Banjo Tooie is so good, I don't know how you can top it???

Not quite. Tooie certainly has better bosses, but overall, Kazooie is still the better game imo.
@@OTGamer95 although i love Kazooie’s Grunty Tower layout, it felt good learning new moves in Tooie and the intro to 1st person blew everyone away as a kid at the time ✊🏾💯 (imo)

I end up beating Tooie totally skipping over Weldar. I ddnt find out about him until the XBLA version when i did a complete run 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩🤦🏽♂️💯

@@papaG6423 hell yea i skipped that Rare barrel Jiggy as well i was like “ whattt a cable room?!” Thats what lead me to finding other i ddnt do
@@Slimerson93 the one where you had to shoot the barrels? That was a rough mission. Especially when the Jiggy is moved to a completely different room in the tower after you shoot all of the necessary barrels. It was very tedious. I love Tooie, but it has a few annoying moments like that

I honestly did not think nuts and bolts would be mentioned at all
90% of Tooie's bosses were all about shooting, but Mingy Jongo( and partially King Coal) involved hand-to-hand combat. And as epic as Gruntilda's fight was, I felt the flight pad and jinjos thrown in mid fight was a bit too convenient.
Additionally, if not a new Banjo Kazooie, then a new 3D Donkey Kong would be just as good. What makes DK so special is he's the one connection between two worlds of severed ties... the last link between Rare and Nintendo.

We need a 3rd game. Ugh we want it. Those first two games are so damn good that I want another so bad after beating the 2nd one. Not that terrible excuse so called 3rd game called Nuts and Bolts 😑

@@magma1675 Yes but the rest, of the game is just vehicle missions. Which would be fine for another character, but it doesn't fit Banjo. It's hard for people to like a spin off game that was made 8 years after the last adventure game. People blame Nuts and Bolts for the death of the Banjo Kazooie series. Even thou Banjo Kazooie, I don't think was meant to last anyway.
