I bought a pretty much identical 1976 CJ360T used in early 1980 for $600. What a joy to ride! I was stationed at Fort Gordon Georgia from early 80 until late 83, and I road all of the back roads on base like it was a dirt bike. I also road the many of the country roads for 100 miles or so around Augusta. Being out on the road or trail all alone with the wind blowing in my face was so relaxing. I can't think of anything else that comes close except the years I mountain biked through German forests around Pirmasens in the mid to late 80s. I love that wind in the face!
Did I really misspell rode after proofreading three or four times? I hereby relinquish my Internet right to criticize complete strangers about any spelling and grammar errors they might make.
My first bike, I recommend adding Tuffoil due to the cam sits on the head with no bearings it relys on the film of oil, Talk about bare bones, No electric starter either, I loved this bike!
Bought the CJ250T version back in ‘76 over here in the UK - loved that bike. Interestingly they supplied them with disc front brakes over here. If I lived in the US I would have bought this bike in a heart beat.
You can't buy happiness but You can buy a motorcycle. I love that sentence. Bad day? I just go and ride for a while and all is gone! ;) greetings from Poland. Love Your video about my favorite bike: Honda Shadow Aero 1100. ;)
I bought that same exact motorcycle brand new off the honda dealer in San Rafael CA in 1976 when I was 18, put 30,000 miles on it sold it in the late 80s. It was such a great bike. Dependable 100 percent. I was so jazzed when I first got it I out over 1000 miles on it the first week I had it. Bought it for 855.00 and made payments to a credit union for it. Wish I would have kept it.
I rode a 76 CB360 in high school in San Francisco, then 20 years ago or so I got a 76 CJ360t on eBay (for almost nothing) in Seattle, it's been sitting in my garage for the past 10 years... I feel like I want to fix it up this summer!
Sweet bike ... I bought one of these brand new for $995 in July 1976 when I turned 16 years old ... what a great machine and great memories. These bikes are kickstart only…cool.
For that price, are you sure you didn't get the *CJ* (without an electric start)? th-cam.com/video/FlbkAhCNvik/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ARMqoZwUyNGu0OM6 I rode the CB in high school in San Francisco, then 20 years ago or so I got the CJ on eBay (for almost nothing) in Seattle, it's been sitting in my garage for the past 10 years... i bought one of these in 1977....in new hampshire dealer and i wish i never sold it!!...the dark red paint ...the transmission was so clean...oh yeah it cost me 795$
If you have high standards and respect quality built machines and or equipment Gas Gas is spot on!!! Videos and pic’s do them no justice until you see one in person!!! Now I know why the Kaplan’s are so hyped up!! Bad ass machines can’t wait to get my plate for it!! My new Republican 🚀Rocket!!!
I just love the fact that there’s so many people that love motorcycles and preserved all these antiques for our future generations to enjoy!! Your right don’t need all the bell’s and whistles to enjoy motorcycling lol… I say that but I’m waiting for this shop to open up to pick up my 23’ ec 300 sorry Kap I was gonna leave a deposit with Jr’ said you guy’s weren’t getting any and you sold out!! 🤙🏻
THAT WAS MY FIRST MOTORCYCLE PURCHASE. I BOUGHT IT USED FOR $500 in the late 70's DROVE IT FROM CARSON CITY NEVADA TO LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA AND DROVE IT BACK-AND-FORTH MANY TIMES. I INSTALLED A TWO AND ONE EXHAUST K&N AIR FILTERS and a quarter fairing rode with RD 400s that couldn't lose me. I had to bike up to 110 miles an hour with all the modifications I did install this front brake and a lightweight mag rear tire. very fun Honda
I rode one of these in High School it was my second bike and what a good time it was all my buddies rode CB-360's which were slightly faster but the CJ-360 had the looks.
@@matthewjoubert1903 I bought mine at a parts-o-rama. So cheap because no title but mint other than needing a battery. I use to run it in the woods like it was a enduro. Lol
I had the last year of the 350, the 'G'...and it had a disc brake. So it was weird to see it's successor with a drum brake. But as a present day owner of a '72 Triumph Daytona 500, I'm here to tell you that those double leading shoes stop with authority. It doesn't hurt that either of these bikes weigh maybe 350 pounds dry. 🙂 Well done, Ken 👍
All the CJ250T and CJ360T’s sold here in the UK starting in 1976 had disc front brakes. I’ve never seen one with a drum front brake before. I had the 250 version in red I bought in Sep ‘76 and it was a great bike.
Beautiful shade of red. I, too, like how the Honda Badge on the gas tank was in blue, on the red tank. I've never seen that before, on any of the old Honda streetbikes.
I got a 76 CJ360t on eBay (for almost nothing) in Seattle which has been sitting in my garage for the past 10 years. It has the same beautiful red color, I'm gonna have to see about getting it detailed once I get it running.
I AM BUILDING THIS EXACT BIKE RIGHT NOW 76 CJ360T E HONDA 1 YEAR ONLY BIKE BUT MINE WAS LEFT OUTSIDE AND NEEDS EVERYTHING REDONE IT HAS COMPRESSION AND IS COMPLETE THINKING CAFE RACER AND PUT ALL STOCK PARTS IN BOX FOR WHOEVER BUYS IT.
Original paint? It's missing the orange strip running along the base of the tank and seat box, often deleted on a repaint. Other than that it's perfect. My first bike back in 1977. Watch for the muffler rotting out. It was thing they did.

First streetbike I ever owned was a 77cj360. Picked it up for $100 back in the day. Revved to the 🌙.
I have a 1977 cj360t complete bike except the exhaust in very good condition

Hi Ken motorcycling is a stress reliever for sure! Wow i have not seen one of those in years! Super clean! I enjoy all your hard work!

Had a CB360T back in the day great bike. Just picked up a 2005 ZRX1200R 16,000 MILES JUST LIKE NEW. SJ
That was the last bike I owned… I miss it!
Beautiful...ride on Ken stay happy, don't let the bs get to you!
It is a CJ 360 1000.00 in march of 1976 loved that bike.
Very nice bike!!
Хорошая техника
Kinda reminds me of a super sport.
I just sold my 76 cj360t and got an 86 Yamaha radian, regretting my decision after seeing this!
The Radian is an awesome bike too!!
The CJ360T was lower cost version of the CB360, it came with drum brakes and kick start only...it was not a successor or replacement of the CB360T.
That's correct. I have one sitting in my garage that I need to and fix up and clean up!
Nice bike,timeless 👌

Can someone tell us if the rear cow on seat is OEM for this bike or fitted from another?
I have only seen that cowling on the CJ models. I've had two.
Whats the worth now im building a cafe racer track bike as we speak everything will be new. All original parts. Will be boxed up too.
That's different to see front drum brake my 74 had a disc

My two 1976 CJ360t's was/is original and had no stripes. i think 77 was only year for stripes.
@@steveorrell8604 Thanks for that Steve. It was a long time ago but I probably didn't even know that back in the day. Cheers!
